Installing root rights through recovery. Flashing Recovery firmware and obtaining Root rights. Full access using Android programs

Root access is the ability of a user of a device running Google Android to gain full access to its system files. This approach may be necessary for some applications with advanced functionality, such as proxy servers, sniffers, or screen recording utilities.

On the other hand, getting Ruth is a very dangerous step. By doing this, you literally put the device itself and your personal data at risk, since any software, including a virus, can gain access to system files. In order to minimize this possibility, a special program is installed on the phone along with Root, which distributes powers and protects access with a password.

Advantages of Root:

  • You can remove applications that are installed as system apps by default and cannot be removed without Root. It’s also easy to clean up built-in services and other system junk that manufacturers love to stuff into their devices;
  • editing any system software, including the firmware itself;
  • additional functionality. For example, the Xposed framework adds many new features to any smartphone;
  • modification of the Android operating system;
  • higher phone performance due to software and firmware optimization. Also, the speed of operation is affected by cleaning the RAM by unloading excess from it.

In addition to the advantages, rooted phones also have a number of disadvantages. Moreover, the negative aspects, in our opinion, are much more significant.

Flaws:

  • The phone can no longer receive the latest software versions from manufacturers over the air. Your firmware becomes outdated and becomes more susceptible to viruses;
  • you simply lose the warranty on your phone as soon as you root it;
  • the user, through his own negligence, can delete or modify a file, which will lead to the crash of the entire OS;
  • While flashing Recovery firmware or files that modify the boot sector of the operating system, the phone can be damaged so that it can no longer be restored even in a service center.

Examination

Before we get down to business, let's check: your Android may already have Root rights. Moreover, it is very simple to do this:

  1. So, first, let's go to the Google Play Store application store. You can find its icon either on the OS home screen or in the application menu.

  1. We enter the name of the program we need in the search bar - you can see it in the screenshot below - and click on the element indicated in the results.

  1. Next, click the button labeled “Install”.

  1. We are waiting for the file with all the necessary data to be downloaded and installed on your gadget. Both actions take place automatically and depend only on the speed of your network connection.

  1. The application can now be launched. This can be done either directly from the Google Play store, or directly from the Android desktop.

  1. When you first launch, we will be required to provide your consent to a disclaimer. We are informed that Root Checker is not created in order to obtain Root rights, but is only needed to check their presence. Finally, click “ACCEPT”.

  1. In the next step, we will be told about the various benefits of the program. Let's not waste time, but simply press the button marked in the picture.

  1. Here we tap on “CHECK ROOT”.

And here is the result. As you can see, we do not have any root rights. This means you can proceed directly to receiving them.

If, after checking, you see an affirmative entry that Root is present, then simply install the application to redistribute them. This is done like this:

  1. We visit the Play Market again, finding its shortcut on your Android.

  1. We enter “super” in the search bar and select the desired program in the results that appear.

  1. Then, of course, click “INSTALL”.

  1. We accept the required permissions.

  1. We are waiting for the installation of SuperSU to complete.

  1. Open the program directly from the store or by tapping on its shortcut on the Android desktop.

  1. When our application is launched, click the marked button and start working with it.

Now, whenever any application requests Root access, you can deny it or, conversely, answer in the affirmative.

Getting Root

Attention! Before you get down to business, charge your phone battery. If the firmware process is interrupted halfway, it may not be possible to restore it!

Since there are a lot of phones running the Android operating system, rooting each of them can be significantly different. For example, on Samsung you can use a special program installed on your computer, but you can unlock the Xiaomi bootloader only with the permission of the creators. So we will not describe in detail the instructions for all phones, but will only touch on the general principles of obtaining Root and show a specific example.

Using programs

The easiest and most universal way to get Root on Android is to try one of the programs created for this. The principle of working with such software is simple - you install the utility on your phone or Windows PC, launch it and follow the prompts on the screen. If your model is supported, the rooting process will begin, which should lead to a positive result.

Let's look at some of the most popular applications for receiving Ruth.

This software is very easy to use and is installed on your Android as an APK file. Before proceeding with the installation, you must allow APK to run from unknown sources. This can be done in the security settings. By default, Framaroot is not on Google Play, so you need to install the software as an APK.

The following program has a rather “crooked” translation (hieroglyphs are visible here and there), but it copes well with its main function. Naturally, only on supported models. The speed of the utility is also pleasing. Brute force is not used here. But there are also negative aspects. There have been cases of phones being “bricked” after the intervention of Baidu Root.

Unlike previous applications, this program looks several orders of magnitude more interesting. It offers easy navigation and reliable operation. But it already works from a computer. Before you start rooting, you will need to go to your smartphone's settings and enable USB debugging there.

As soon as a smartphone, for example, Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE, Fly, HTC, Asus Zenfone, Meizu or LG, is connected to the PC, the application will scan it and automatically determine whether it can be Rooted. All you have to do is press the confirm button. Please note that during the firmware process the device may randomly reboot. Do not unplug the cord at this moment.

The following application also works in tandem with a computer and has a fairly extensive base of supported devices. But again, there are hieroglyphs everywhere and it’s not so easy to understand what to press at a certain point in time. But if you treat the process more or less carefully, it will be difficult to make a mistake.

There was already a program with a similar name on our list, but this software is not a copy of it. The advantages of Kingo Root include the most extensive list of supported smartphones. The work process itself is also very simple. You will have to connect the device to the PC via a cable and, if it is supported, click the button once.

The list of programs for obtaining Root on Android can be continued for a very long time, but our goal is only a general immersion in the problem. Use a search engine and see which utility is suitable for your model.

Via Recovery

Recovery is a PreOS mode that is capable of making changes to it without starting the main OS. If we flash the required archive through Recovery, we will get Root rights on our smartphone. This is what the menu looks like on Samsung phones:

In order to open Recovery on Samsung, you need to turn off the device and simultaneously hold down the Volume + + Power buttons.

In this case, you need to place the zip archive to obtain Ruth in the internal folder of the file system or on a memory card, then reboot into Recovery and select “Install zip from sdcard”. After this, the process of flashing the archive will follow and, accordingly, after turning on the device, Ruth should appear.

Attention! Don’t flash anything like this! Otherwise, instead of Ruth, you will receive a brick that cannot be restored!

Recovery mode has a number of additional functions, including:

  • creating a backup copy of the firmware;
  • Resetting the device with full formatting of all partitions;
  • clear cache;
  • mounting partitions and much more.

Instead of standard Recovery (not available on all phones), you can install custom, more functional software. For example, TWRP Recovery.

Archive firmware from PC

In some cases, it is impossible to access the bootloader in recovery. For example, in Xiaomi phones, working with Boot Loader is not allowed by default and to access the section you must obtain official permission from Xiaomi. Only after this will you be able to bet anything. And this is done as follows:

An example of installing Recovery and Root is shown on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X phone. In other models, of course, everything may be different.

  1. Install the driver for your phone.
  2. Download the application for the official unlock and launch it. At the same time, turn off the phone, hold down the power button and Volume Down on it. As a result, the device will switch to FASBOOT mode. In this state we connect it to the PC.
  3. We accept the Mi Unlock license.

  1. We log in through an account that has been approved by Xiaomi.

  1. As a result, the phone will be detected and further connected.

  1. When everything is ready, click the button marked in the picture below.

  1. We will be warned in clear red letters about the irreparability of what we have done and the seriousness of the consequences of unblocking. They will also notify you that the device will become vulnerable to viruses. Have you changed your mind? So let's press.

  1. Next comes the unlocking process. First, the phone and account will be checked for permission from the creators. Then, if all is well, the bootloader will be unlocked.

  1. The process is complete. Click “Reboot phone”.

The phone will reboot and turn on with the bootloader unlocked. Now you can proceed directly to installing Root.

  1. We look for an archive with TWRP Recovery on the Internet and unpack it onto our PC. Next, we put the phone into firmware mode again (described above) and connect it to the computer. Let’s go to the archive with our Recovery and run “flash_and_boot.bat”.

  1. We wait until the files are flashed and, after the invitation, press any button. The phone will restart automatically.

  1. After we get into Recovery, we need to flash Root itself. Of course, there is no official website here, so look for the archive online. Initially, go to the “Installation” section.

  1. We find our Root rights file and select it.

  1. The firmware process will begin. We are waiting for its completion.

  1. We go up to the main menu and select the “Reboot” button.

  1. Tap on the “System” section. From here you can also go to EDL, bootloader, Recovery, unprotect menu, or simply turn off the phone.

You can also completely remove Root rights through TWRP Recovery. To do this, go to the “Advanced” section.

  1. Now let's check for Root rights again. Launch Root Checker.

  1. We press the familiar button.

  1. We grant permissions to the program to check Root rights. This is what we were talking about - all administrative actions are now controlled.

Voila! Everything works perfectly.

Using the example of the Chinese Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, we installed Ruth rights. On other phones, everything may happen completely differently.

Conclusion

That's all. Now you know how to flash your Android smartphone and you can safely move on to the practical part of the task. If you're lucky, everything will be done with just installing the APK and a couple of taps on the screen. In other cases (as in the example with Xiaomi) you will have to get confused. But either way, you can root any Android, naturally, if you have the phone itself, theoretical information (given above) and the most important thing - direct hands.

Video instruction

I think many of you have heard this expression, but not many understand what it is (not to mention how to do it). Now I will help you figure it out.

The article consists of the following sections:

What are root rights and why are they needed at all?

When you buy a new smartphone, you notice a lot of programs on it that, let’s say, as is, you don’t need at all. But what happens is you can't delete them. At the same time, they also take up space in memory!
So, root rights mean full access to the system. You can do whatever you want, from changing the icon on a system app to uninstalling it.

Key benefits of full access:

  • ability to work with system applications;
  • the ability to “give” any application full access to the system;
  • unlimited work with the interface: change icons, themes, system sounds, greetings and pictures or animations when turned on;
  • full access to the bootloader, which allows you to change the firmware without difficulty;
  • the ability to install applications directly onto the memory card;
  • a backup copy with all applications that were installed on the system at that time;
  • a special system manager that allows you to see and edit previously hidden system files.

And the last thing to tell you before moving on to the practical part is this is a warning:

  • you will lose the warranty on the device;
  • you can damage the operating system if you do things you are not sure about. Therefore: delete, add, change, but only if you are confident in the correctness of your actions.

Basic ways to get root access

Naturally, there are special programs that make this easier. I will roughly divide them into two types:

  • PC programs;
  • programs for an Android device.

Below I will tell you about the main ones and teach you how to use them. But first you will have to learn how to perform the actions that you will need in any of the ways:

  • connect the device in USB debugging mode;
  • Allow installation of applications from unknown sources.

USB debugging mode

The algorithm of actions is quite simple and similar on devices with any version of Android OS.
1. Go to the settings of your device and select the “Accessibility” section, the “For Developers” item.

2. Set the switch to the “on” position opposite the “USB Debugging” item. Confirm your decision.

3. After connecting the device to the PC, you will see a message in the notification bar about enabling debugging.

Permission to install from unknown sources
Go to settings, go to the security section. Set the switch to the “on” position next to the “Unknown sources” item.

That's it, we're done with the preparation, now let's move directly to root rights.

Full access using PC programs

In this section, I will talk in detail about how to root your android device using some PC software.

Root access using the Kingo Android Root program

1. Download Kingo Android ROOT program to your PC.

2. Install the program.

one of the screenshots when installing the KingoRoot program

4. Next, launch the Kingo Android ROOT program. Only after this, connect your device to the PC via USB cable.

5. When the device is detected and all drivers are installed, click “ROOT”. The process of hacking the system will begin. When it is done, reboot your device.

I hope everything is clear to you. Let's move on to the next method.

Root access using the VROOT program

If you were unable to get root access using the previous program, then most likely your Android device is made in China. Therefore, try to do approximately the same thing using the VROOT program. Below are instructions.
1. Download the program from the official website to your PC. Yes, it is worth noting that it is in Chinese, so be careful. Click the green button to download as shown in the picture.

2. Now install the program. The installation process is identical to any other, just look at the pictures and follow it. Don't forget to check the box to launch the application (last screenshot).

3. Now you need to enable USB Debugging Mode on your device and allow installation of applications from unknown sources.

4. Connect the device via USB cable. And click the "Root" button. Wait for the root access process to complete.

These are, in my opinion, the two best programs in this category. Just follow all the steps as described above and you will succeed.

Full access using Android programs

In this section, I will show you how to get root rights using Android programs. All actions will need to be performed directly from your Android device.

Root access using the KINGROOT program

This is a fairly easy-to-use program, which is why it is the most popular.
1. First, download the installation file from the official website directly from your device (this will be easier than from a computer). Click "Free Download". Confirm saving the file. The screenshot clearly shows the site address and also shows what needs to be done. You can see the download status in the notification bar.

Note: When downloading the installation file, it is advisable to have a high-speed Internet connection via WiFi.
2. Now you need to install the application. Before doing this, allow installation from unknown sources. Then go to the downloads directory and click on the appropriate file. Everything is shown in the pictures, please be careful.

3. Now install the application by clicking on the “Install” button.

4. Find the Kingroot application shortcut on one of your desktops. Click on it to launch. Immediately the application will begin to determine the model of your device, as well as whether it is already rooted.

5. Now that the definition is over, click on the “TRY TO ROOT” button to get root rights. And wait for the device to reboot, which will inform you that the process of hacking the system is over.

Root access using OneClickRoot program

Unfortunately, this program no longer works for free (a couple of years have passed since this article was written). At the office The site only has a paid version for $30.

This program is much lighter than the previous one and, moreover, immediately after scanning it tells you whether it can open root access to your device.

  1. I won't tell you much about how to download and install the application. You need to perform all the steps similarly to the case described above. Everything (including

Any device with Android OS starts in Recovery mode. This is a standard feature. However, with the factory version you can perform too narrow a range of tasks. So, this is resetting the phone to its initial settings, clearing the cache, and also updating the system from the update.zip file. Obviously, users who are expanding their knowledge in the IT field are very dissatisfied with such a meager list. This is where specially developed Recovery Modes come to the rescue. CWM Recovery is a popular tool among Android users and a worthy replacement for the factory one.

Why do you need CWM Recovery mode?

Clockworkmod Recovery (CWM) is a famous alternative to factory recovery mode developed by Koushik Dutta. You can install it on most Android devices. CWM Recovery helps even in situations that sometimes seem hopeless to the average owner. That is why it is necessary to know about its existence, and also be able to use it.

CWM mode has many options

What exactly does the utility do:

  • Installs unofficial custom firmware and kernels.
  • Installs factory system updates, add-ons and OS patches.
  • Connects to a computer via USB in removable storage mode and for working with the ADB program.
  • Creates a complete backup copy of the current firmware and its individual parts (system, settings, applications).
  • Restores the device from a previously created backup.
  • Resets settings to factory settings (Wipe - data/factory reset), clears cache (wipe cache), clears Dalvik-cache (wipe Dalvik-cache), clears battery statistics (wipe battery stats).
  • Creates partitions on a memory card and formats them.
  • CWM: installation instructions

    ClockworkMod is sewn into the internal memory of the device in place of the factory mode. In some cases, work is carried out on the gadget itself with access to Root rights, and in others - on a PC.

    The article covers such basic methods as Rom Manager, FastBoot, Rashr and Odin. For many devices, companies themselves produce separate utilities, for example, Acer Recovery Installer for Acer devices. CWM is implemented into the device memory on these devices also through ADB software, which is suitable for devices manufactured by HTC.

    Rom Manager: Rooting and embedding

    Rom Manager is a utility created by the CWM developers. It is available for download on Google Play Market. Allows you to install CWM Recovery on the device itself without using a computer and a USB cable. Before using it, you must root the device, that is, obtain administrator rights.

    Obtaining Root rights

    The procedure is simple and can be easily carried out using special software. As an example, we can take the Framaroot program. Anyone can navigate its simple and intuitive interface, even without instructions.

  • Download the app from the store and open it. In the drop-down line, give preference to the “Install SuperSU” or “Install SuperUser” item. Click on the drop-down window
  • Select a method for obtaining Root rights. Follow the advice - restart the device for the changes to take effect.

    For the changes to take effect, restart the device

    Launching Rom Manager

    Now is the time to use the program:

  • Launch the software and click on the first section of Recovery Setup, and then click on ClockworkMod Recovery. Select Recovery Setup
  • Find and select the device model from the list of available ones. If the model is not in the list, then this method of flashing Recovery is not suitable and you need to use another one. After confirming the action, the files will begin to download, as indicated by the progress bar. Next, a notification will pop up stating that you need to grant Root rights to the program. Then the CWM installation itself will be carried out. Click on ClockworkMod Recovery to install
  • Video: how to flash Recovery with Rom Manager

    Although the method is easy, it has a drawback: it is not suitable for all devices, as mentioned earlier. Before you start using this method, it would be logical to first determine that this program is compatible with the gadget. The list is available on the official Rom Manager website.

    FastBoot Mode: Complex Method

    The CWM installation method using FastBoot will require skill from the user, as it is much more complicated than the previous one. It runs not on the device, but on the computer. It is recommended to use it only if you already have skills in such operations. Before installation, you need to download certain files to your computer or laptop. This list also includes the Android SDK platform, available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

    Preparatory stage

    What you need to have before installing CWM using FastBoot mode:

  • A computer with Windows OS and a USB cable to connect the device to the PC.
  • USB drivers for correct device detection. They can be downloaded from the official website of the manufacturer.
  • Android SDK platform.
  • Recovery file.
  • The Android SDK utility will help you install the necessary Android SDK Tools and Android SDK Platform tools packages:

  • Go to the bottom of the official page. There will be three options. In this case, it is the Windows version. Click on tools_version-windows.zip.
    Download the Anroid SDK zip archive for Windows from the official website
  • Extract all contents from the archive to drive C. Open and click on tools. The android file needed to download the packages directly is there. Double click on the file and the manager is open.
    Find the android file in the unzipped folder and open
  • Check the box to the left of Android SDK Platform-tools and click Install 1 package.

    Select Android SDK Platform-tools and click Install package

  • Standard request to accept the license agreement. Check the Accept License box and then click Install. The direct installation of the packages necessary for the firmware, which were mentioned earlier, will begin.
    Accept the license agreement
  • After the installation process is complete, find platform-tools in tools_version-windows. It will contain important fastboot and adb files.
    The fastboot and adb files are located in the tools_version-windows folder after installing the Android SDK Platform-tools package
  • What else needs to be done before starting the firmware itself? Judging by the list above, you need the recovery-clockwork.img file. This is one of the key tools for further work. Downloading it won't be difficult, but it doesn't end there. It is important to place this file in the platform-tools folder. For further convenience in the firmware, you need to rename it to recovery.img.

    Place the file in the platform-tools folder

    Get straight to the point!

    Now everything is ready for the CWM firmware itself, so you can safely get to work. Below is a detailed description of the actions, in which it is quite difficult to get lost.

  • First, connect the device to be flashed to your computer via USB. At the same time, FastBoot mode is launched (a combination of the power and volume down keys). Although this combination works most often, it is not suitable for everyone. In some cases, this is the Home key and the same volume reduction. When the first option doesn't work out, nothing will happen if you use the second.
    Start your device in FastBoot mode
  • The main procedure is performed on the command line. First you need to open it. In a Windows terminal window (press Win + R keys) write the cmd command.
    To open the command prompt, go to Start and type cmd
  • The command line is immediately ready to use. Type cd / immediately after the last entry and press Enter.
    Type cd / and press Enter
  • Next, you need to go to the platform-tools folder in the terminal itself. The path to the folder may differ among users, so it is extremely important to use your own option so that the operation ends with a certain success. Copying the path from the window line would be the correct solution.
  • The next line in the black window should look like cd path_to_folder_platform-tools. Press Enter again.
    Enter the command with the path to the folder
  • The next step is the adb devices command. It will help determine whether the PC sees the device. Next type adb reboot bootloader. Wait until the device turns on as a bootloader. Finally, go to the final part of the firmware: enter fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. and press Enter.
    The adb devices command will help determine whether the PC sees the device
  • If successful, a message will appear. The next time you restart the phone in recovery mode, check that the new firmware is installed. If all is well, the device will enter ClockworkMod Recovery mode.
  • The level of complexity, as you can see, is high, so before the procedure it is strongly recommended to check that this method is suitable for the device, since it may not work in all gadgets. In practice, this method is good if the manufacturer of the device is HTC.

    Rashr app

    The installation method using Rashr is convenient and easy to perform; it is recommended for beginners. However, ironically, it also requires administrator rights. You can get them in a few steps. Detailed instructions were given earlier in the section on Rom Manager.

    How to work with Rashr

    First you need to download the application itself. It is available for free in the Play Market (Rashr - Flash Tool). You can also view the program on a third-party site, but you must beware of suspicious web pages so as not to catch a virus.

    When the program is already on the phone, you need to open it and provide it with previously acquired Root rights upon request. Then everything is simple:

  • Select CWM Recovery. Click CWM Recovery
  • The software will provide available versions of Recovery for the given device being flashed, such as the touch ClockworkMod and the option with key control.
    Select Recovery from the list of options available for your device
  • Select the most suitable version and click Yes to confirm the download.
    Click Yes to confirm download
  • After downloading, a notification will pop up that the new recovery has been successfully downloaded and installed. To go there, click Yes.
    To go to Recovery, click Yes
  • Video: CWM and Rashr

    Odin: solution for Samsung

    The previous three methods are suitable for different device models. The same method is effective for Samsung devices. This is a proprietary utility, so it cannot be used for devices from other manufacturers. There are many versions of this application. The latest one is Odin 3.09.

    Here the standard factory version of Recovery is changed to a modified one using a PC, as with FastBoot:

  • Download Samsung Odin from the official website.
    Download the Odin program on PC
  • Establish a connection between the PC and the gadget via a USB cable and switch the device to Download Mode. There are two options depending on the device model. If one doesn't work, another will definitely work:
    • power/lock button and volume down (on older devices released before mid-2011);
    • power/lock button, Home and volume down (all other devices).
  • Pressing the volume up button confirms entering recovery mode. Next, launch the already downloaded Odin program. A program window will open, where available files for download will be listed. In the case of Recovery firmware, you need to check the box to the left of AP. In other versions of the software, the field may be called PDA.
  • Click the Start button and wait until the firmware is completed successfully.
    Click the Start button and wait for the firmware to finish
  • How to enable CWM Recovery mode after flashing

    Once CWM mode has been installed using one of the above methods, you need to check if it works. You can launch ClockworkMod Recovery:

  • using the ROM Manager program, selecting the “Load Recovery mode” section on its initial page;
  • by pressing the keys simultaneously after turning off the device. Combinations may vary depending on the model and manufacturer of the device. In most cases, these are the volume down and power buttons;
  • using the ADB program using the adb reboot recovery button.
  • Possible difficulties

    During the installation of an alternative Recovery Mode, in particular CWM, various difficulties and errors may arise. Which of them are the most common and how to solve them?

    CWM Recovery does not recognize the memory card

    CWM makes it possible to update your phone using an archive. When opening Recovery, the user sees a message that the flash card cannot be mounted. After installing another card, even with less memory, the problem disappears. The reason lies in the Windows system itself. The fact is that it diverges from card formatting standards. To ensure formatting is performed in accordance with the specification of SD/SDHC/SDXC flash cards, and not just in standard form, it is recommended to use specialized software, for example, SD Formatter.

    The SD Formatter program allows you to correctly format the SD card

    CWM does not see the internal memory of the device: problem solution

    When the recovery files are located on the internal memory, and therefore can only be recovered from there, a problem may arise. When you connect the USB cable to the PC and enable USB Debugging, the program reports that the Android device is not detected and you need to enable USB Debugging.

    To solve this problem:

  • Connect the device as a camera, not a storage device. If there are other options available, choose them.
  • Install universal drivers.
  • Find a more suitable Recovery program for your device.
  • Recovery menu doesn't work

    If when you launch the alternative recovery mode (volume + Home button or power) a picture appears with a lying robot, then the recovery was flashed, but when you restarted the device it was overwritten by the stock Recovery.

    The problem is solved as follows.

  • Before flashing the Odin3 program, you need to uncheck the Auto restart checkbox and disconnect the cable after flashing. From Download mode on the device, go to recovery mode by pressing the volume up + home screen + power keys in sequence and hold them until the recovery menu appears. So you should get into the custom recovery menu anyway.
  • In it, select Reboot system now and then check Yes. This action will overwrite the stock recovery with a custom one and the “No command” error will be corrected.
  • Flashing a new Recovery mode means acquiring new functionality. Firmware methods vary in complexity, but ironically, the simplest of them require access to Root, that is, device administrator rights. When choosing a firmware method, you need to be guided by the phone model first. Rom Manager is not suitable for all devices. For HTC, the FastBoot method is more suitable, while for Samsung it would be more correct to choose Odin.

    This method consists of installing the Kingo Root program on your computer - which will install Root rights to the smartphone

    Installing ClockWorkMod Recovery and getting root rights on an Android tablet is not very difficult. Just follow the instructions and you will succeed. In this matter, we will be helped by ClockWorkMod itself, the superuser application, drivers for our tablet and the Odin program. I’ll say right away that the described method is not suitable for everyone, but for most owners of Android devices.

    First, let's understand a little about what ClockWorkMod Recovery and root rights are.

    ClockWorkMod is a modification of the standard Recovery mode that allows you to install custom (modified) firmware (), perform a data reset (wipe), restore and backup your data, and much more that you will never do on your tablet.

    ROOT rights- analogous to a computer administrator in a Windows environment. Allows you to modify and delete Android system files. If we again draw an analogy with Windows, then this is something like the ability to get into C: Windows and change hidden files and folders. Using the Superuser helper application, you can grant root rights to other programs.

    I will not divide the instructions into two parts and write separately about installing ClockWorkMod Recovery and about obtaining root rights on tablets. We will do all this within one instruction at a time. Let's get started.

    Installing ClockWorkMod and root rights

    1. Download it yourself ClockWorkMod from clockworkmod.com for your tablet model. Just find your model in the list, and click on the version number in the second column, called Download Recovery. Choose what to download very carefully. If you download ClockWorkMod for something other than your tablet, there will be problems. Move the CWM file to a folder whose path does not contain Russian letters.

    2. Download the program SuperSU version 0.96 from wherever you want. In principle, you can search and download a later version of the Superuser application, but the version offered has been tested many times, so it can definitely be trusted.

    3. Download Odin from somewhere.

    4. Download drivers for your tablet from the manufacturer's website (Acer, Samsung, HP, Sony...) and install as administrator.

    5. Disabling the antivirus and all the left programs in the background, such as player, browser and so on.

    6. Copy the one downloaded from step 2 SuperSU to the tablet's memory card.

    7. Launch Odin and click on the button PDA. Select our ClockWorkMod in the window.

    9. We connect the tablet to the computer in this state (it’s better to connect to the rear USB port if you have a desktop, for laptops it doesn’t matter; and use the original cable, and not the one bought on Ebay, it’s unclear which one). Odin should respond to the connection of the tablet by writing the port number and changing the color of the window to yellow or blue(depending on Odin version).

    10. Uncheck Auto Reboot in Odin, do not touch other settings. Click START.

    11. After completing the firmware, turn off the tablet and turn it on again by clicking on Volume- And Inclusion. Keep them pressed again until the menu appears.

    12. We entered ClockWorkMod, which we installed a couple of minutes ago. All that remains is to install the Superuser application. To do this, select from the menu install zip from sdcard -> chouse zip from sdcard, and select our SuperSU, which we downloaded in step 2. Confirm the choice.

    13. After installation, select reboot system now. The tablet will reboot and you will have root rights and ClockWorkMod Recovery installed on your Android tablet.

    If you are unable to install CWM and get root rights, then your tablet does not do this as standard, and you will have to find out how to do it yourself.
