The history of the formation of the Agricultural University in Prague (CZU) dates back to 1906. Initially, one faculty was founded at the Technical University in the Czech Republic, where both scientific and research activities actively developed. The process of forming the future university was stopped due to the outbreak of the First World War, but a significant rise after its end immediately advanced the process of establishing the university to a new level.
Over the past few years, the Czech Agricultural University has developed into a modern complex of knowledge and has become practically a “student city” with its developed infrastructure: dormitories, canteens, restaurants, parks, libraries, lounges, shops, new classrooms equipped with the most modern technology, laboratories and greenhouses. Constantly expanding the areas of study of subjects, the university began to pay great attention to aspects of ecology, to prepare qualified managers in the field of economics and management of agriculture and national economy, as well as to study the activities of international organizations. Every year, a higher educational institution offers the study of a chosen specialty based on the three-stage *Bologna Agreement, offering:
- 34 bachelor's training programs,
- 49 master's degree programs,
- 19 programs for those wishing to obtain a doctoral degree.
*The Bologna Agreement or the Bologna Process is a process of rapprochement and harmonization of the educational systems of European countries with the aim of creating a single European space of higher education. The main goal of which is the establishment of a European higher education area, as well as the activation of the European higher education system on a global scale. One of the key provisions of the Bologna process is the adoption of a system of comparable degrees, including through the introduction of the Diploma Supplement, to ensure employability of European citizens and increase the international competitiveness of the European higher education system.
Another incomparable advantage of CZU is the Double-degree program - the student receives 2 diplomas: from the Czech Agricultural University and one of the partner universities in England, France or the Netherlands. In this case, the student studies at a partner university for six months or a year.
The Czech Agricultural University in Prague is also a member of international consortia. First of all, we are talking about seven leading European universities operating in the field of life sciences, called Euroleague for Life Sciences. ChZU is also a member of the Association for European Life Sciences Universities (70 universities and faculties working in areas similar to ChZU). The Czech Agricultural University is also a member of the European University Association and the Danube Conference of Rectors.
Every fifth full-time student at ChZU goes abroad under the student exchange program. In terms of the number of outgoing and incoming students under the ERASMUS program, the Czech Agricultural University is among the first 200 universities in Europe. Since 2000, students from 125 countries have studied at ChZU.
Attention! The Czech Agricultural University in Prague offers foreign applicants admission to the Faculty of Economics without exams and nostrification of a school certificate! Entrance exams are taken after the first year of study in courses combined with the first-year program and students immediately proceed to the second year. Nostrification must also be conveyed until the moment of transition to the second year. Training in this program is paid, as it is conducted in English. Many classes are taught by native speakers. Students have the opportunity to leave under the ERASMUS program and receive a Double-degree. An important point is the provision of a certificate of English language proficiency.

Czech Agricultural University is third largest university in Prague. The Czech Agricultural University Prague was founded in 1952. Now the third largest university in Prague, in 2016 there were 12,168 undergraduate and 6,975 graduate students studying at the university in various study programs and specializations. The rector of the university for 2018 is Petr Sklenicka.
The university conducts active research activities. The works of university staff are published in world-renowned journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. The Czech Agricultural University offers almost 30 doctoral programs, in which students gain knowledge not only in the research field, but also in the pedagogical field. Organization of training
The Czech Agricultural University offers a large number of bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. In addition to classical agricultural and forestry specialties, students are trained in a wide range of programs in the field of environmental protection and natural resources, economics and management, engineering and computer science. Modern methods are used in training, such as e-learning and video conferencing, and much attention is paid to practice, including abroad. According to the university's own research, 97% of graduates get a job or continue their education. Most young people work in their specialty; dozens of graduates find work abroad.
CZU is one of the few universities in the Czech Republic whose campus has its own park, which is used by both students and staff, as well as residents of the nearby Prague district of Suhdol. The university premises have everything necessary for students - dormitories, canteens, conditions for sports and recreation, as well as, of course, modern lecture halls, laboratories, seminar rooms, greenhouses, and libraries.
International connections
In the modern world, in the context of globalization, mobility plays an increasingly important role. Mobility at the Czech Agricultural University is manifested primarily in exchange programs for both CZU students, who have the opportunity to study abroad for some time, and for foreign students who study at CZU. Currently, more than 900 students from all over the world come to the university annually on semester or annual exchange programs or short-term intensive courses such as summer schools. Together with them, almost two thousand foreign students study at the Czech Agricultural University.

CZU uses the results of its research activities in Haiti and other developing countries, thereby helping to develop agriculture in countries where food resources are scarce.
In addition to international networks, the Czech Agricultural University has concluded bilateral agreements with more than 80 universities outside Europe. Directly in Europe, within the framework of the LLP ERASMUS program, the university has concluded agreements with more than 150 universities. The university is also a participant in the TEMPUS and CEEPUS programs.
Participation in international programs and projects promotes cooperation between participating universities, their students and teachers. That is why a third of CZU programs are taught entirely in English; the Czech Agricultural University in Prague also implements dozens of “double-degree” programs together with leading foreign partners in Europe. The university conducts summer intensive courses in exotic countries such as Peru or Vietnam, and CZU students can study in these countries.

The Faculty of Economics of the Czech Agrarian University is one of the largest and most popular economic faculties in the Czech Republic (there are approximately 20 economic faculties in public universities in the Czech Republic). More than 15,000 students study at the Faculty of Economics of CZU, and the faculty, according to the accreditation of the Czech Ministry of Education, is one of the six best economic faculties in the country.

Admission
To submit an application for admission, you need to fill out an electronic application before the end of March, and then pay for the application for admission.
Entrance exams for different faculties are very different. At the Faculty of Economics, upon admission to a bachelor's degree, an exam in mathematics and a foreign language is taken; upon admission to a master's program, an exam is taken in the subject of Economics and Management and an exam in a second subject, which depends on the chosen specialty. At the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources, upon admission to a bachelor's degree, an exam in chemistry and biology is taken, for some specialties only biology, and for the specialty of Garden and Landscape Architecture, a creative exam is also taken. The Faculty of Forestry and Woodworking provides admission without entrance exams, however, in certain cases you may be assigned exams in mathematics, biology or physics. At the Faculty of Tropical Horticulture, upon admission to a bachelor's degree, an exam in the Czech language and biology is taken. At the Faculty of Environment, upon admission to a bachelor's degree, an exam is taken in mathematics, biology, chemistry or general knowledge, depending on the specialty. At the Faculty of Technology, upon admission to a bachelor's degree, an exam in mathematics and physics is taken.
Some faculties conduct their own internal Czech language exam for foreign applicants or require a Czech language certificate.
Admission without entrance exams
The Faculty of Economics of the Czech Agricultural University in Prague offers foreign applicants a unique opportunity - admission to a bachelor's or master's degree without entrance exams and nostrification of a diploma/certificate when studying in English. Exams are taken after the first year of study, after which the student is admitted directly to the second year. Also, only in the second year do students provide a document confirming the nostrification of a certificate (undergraduate students) or diploma (master’s students).
Training in this program is conducted entirely in English, many classes are taught by native speakers - invited teachers from partner universities. Therefore, participation in this program is a great opportunity to improve your English.
