Russia is not going to be the first to use nuclear weapons and will not initiate a global catastrophe, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
He explained that the Russian concept of using this type of WMD does not provide for a preventive strike, only a response to an attack is possible. And it will all end in mutual destruction.
The issue of nuclear weapons is once again becoming relevant along with rising tensions throughout the world. The possibility of a preventive strike was allowed in the Pentagon, however, with the stipulation that they would do this only if they were firmly convinced that an attack on the United States was inevitable.
In the spring, they seriously discussed a possible attack on the DPRK - in response to threats from the North Korean leader.
And experts are speculating when the Third World War will begin and whether any of the potential participants will resort to the suicidal use of nuclear weapons.
USA: Donald Trump is at war on Twitter
The bellicose tweets of the president of the most powerful state in the world at the moment have long become the talk of the town. Trump won the presidential race thanks in part to his captivating manner of saying what he thinks, even if it is far from the accepted standards in politics. For example, ask why America cannot use nuclear weapons if it has them?
Having become the head of state, Trump did not abandon this manner, so sometimes there are calls to take away the account from the US President - or better yet, the nuclear button.
In April of this year, a tweet in which Trump called on Russia to prepare to send “good, new and smart” missiles to Syria and accused it of supporting a “killer animal,” that is, Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, made the whole world afraid of the outbreak of World War III.
The president himself, it seems, did not expect such a reaction at all. Less than an hour later, he published a completely different post in which he wondered why relations with Russia are now worse than during the Cold War, because there is essentially no reason for this.
The Kremlin responded briefly to the question about Trump's tweets - they say that we are not for Twitter diplomacy, but for a serious approach. The clash between American and Russian troops in Syria, which everyone feared, once again did not happen.
North Korean leader: smarter than it seems
Russia is a long-time adversary of the United States, and relations between the countries are now indeed quite tense. However, the idea of a preventive nuclear strike in the Pentagon arose for a completely different reason: the American military was alerted by the threats of the DPRK leaders, whose rhetoric had become completely belligerent.
A small country in the north of the Korean Peninsula was developing nuclear weapons, which did not suit the members of the so-called “nuclear club,” that is, countries that already possess WMD. Sanctions were introduced against the DPRK, but this did not bother the leaders of the state.
A sharp deterioration in relations, called the August crisis, occurred last year. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un even threatened to launch a nuclear strike on the US air base on the island of Guam. The forces of the tiny Asian state and the United States would seem to be incomparable, but North Korea, in the event of an armed conflict, could cause serious damage to its neighbors, South Korea and Japan. So war had to be avoided.
Trump, of course, could not stand the threats of the North Korean leader and vented his soul on Twitter. The apotheosis was the exchange of “New Year’s greetings”: the leader of the DPRK, addressing the nation, said that he always keeps the nuclear button at hand so that the United States cannot start a war. Trump responded on Twitter that his button was larger and it worked.
In the end, both opponents turned out to be smarter than it seemed from their statements. Not without difficulty, effort and difficulties on both sides, the crisis in relations was overcome; the leaders of the United States and the DPRK met in Singapore for the first time in history and even reached an agreement that the DPRK would denuclearize the Korean Peninsula if the United States provided security guarantees. True, the document does not contain any specifics, and many analysts said that Kim Jong-un outplayed his overseas colleague. But war on the Korean Peninsula was avoided.
Russia: retribution is inevitable
In February of this year, the United States unveiled a new nuclear doctrine that provides for the modernization of atomic weapons and the development of low-power types.
It names Russia, China, North Korea and Iran as potential adversaries. Unlike small North Korea and relatively small Iran, Russia, as the successor of the USSR, is a long-time geopolitical rival of the United States. It was these two countries that became the first and main owners of terrifying weapons of mass destruction, capable of destroying any potential enemy - and at the same time the planet.
In 1987, after USSR Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev and US President Ronald Reagan signed the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range Nuclear Missiles (INF). Some analysts believe that Vladimir Putin’s famous March speech to the Federal Assembly, in which he spoke about new types of weapons for the Russian army, was a response to the updated US nuclear doctrine. And Trump’s tweet about “smart missiles,” in turn, was a response to Putin’s speech.
At a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, the Russian leader recalled that Russia does not intend to use nuclear weapons first, but a response will follow. Modern early warning systems for a missile attack will help make sure that an attack has occurred, capable of detecting the launch of missiles in any territory within a few seconds, as well as determining the flight path and where the warheads fall.
“The aggressor must know that retaliation is inevitable, that he will be destroyed. And we, the victims of aggression, we, like martyrs, will go to heaven, and they will simply die, because they won’t even have time to repent,” the president emotionally summed up, assuring that Russia will not be the initiator of a “worldwide catastrophe.”

Doctrines of nuclear war in the past
The first doctrine (theory, concept) of nuclear war arose immediately after the end of World War II, in the United States. In the latter option, Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons if not only nuclear or other types of weapons of mass destruction, but also conventional weapons were used against it or its allies, if this threatens the very foundations of the existence of the state, which could become one of the reasons for nuclear war. Likewise, the approaching end of the world “from a materialistic point of view” can be judged any way you like, but you need to look at the state of the world, at the course of events according to the illumination by the Word of God.
It is time to know and memorize the fundamental truths of existence given in prophecies in order to judge the future based on the course of phenomena occurring at the moment. Our beliefs should be based on the picture shown by Christ in the parable of the tares. The world with its peoples is a field on which the Lord planted good seed, founding His Church - the Kingdom of God. But the enemy of the human race appeared at night and sowed weeds. This seed of his grew and finally, as the Apocalypse says, Satan came down from heaven and reigned in the form of the “crimson beast” - red Bolshevism, that is, he founded the kingdom of the devil on earth. The world was divided into the Bolshevik camp, fighting the Kingdom of God - the Church of Christ, and into one free from the Bolsheviks: the “capitalist”, “democratic” world, developing according to the natural laws of development, always trembling with the fear of capture and enslavement by the devilish Bolshevik world. On this basis, there is constant hostility and war between two incompatible, opposing principles. According to the prediction of the Apocalypse, the satanic camp, after the reign of its seven leaders, will retreat from its devilish practices, from its sovereignty, but will return again at the end of days and destroy humanity: “The beast which you saw was, and is not, and will come out of the abyss and go to destruction; and those who dwell on the earth, whose names were not written in the book of life from the beginning of the world, will be amazed, seeing that the beast was, and is not, and will appear” (Rev. 17:8).
The "beast" has seven heads with blasphemous names, which are “seven kings, of which five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come, and when he comes... he will not be long. And the beast that was, and is not, is the eighth, and from among the seven, and will go to destruction” (Rev. 17:10-11).
Here ap. John seems to be trying intensely to focus attention on the unity of the nature of the “beast” - Bolshevism of the first reign and the “beast” - the last exit from the abyss. All interpreters of the Apocalypse agree that the “beast” emerging from the abyss is the Antichrist, but few people consciously understand that this “beast” is Bolshevism and its regime. But this is simple arithmetic. Now we see that the Bolshevik regime, its seven general secretaries reigned and left power in 1991. Now we see how it quickly and persistently returns in its darkest guise - Stalinism. This can be observed experimentally: it is enough to fall among the hostages-“captives” into the hands of Putin’s militants in the DPR and LPR, and there is no need to go to the dungeons of Stalin or the coming Antichrist. Here are the same tortures and humiliations, the same brutality and inhumanity of the regime’s servants and boundless lies. This can be called the experimental farming of the Antichrist. But our goal is to answer the question: how will the Antichrist destroy the world? Or will it be a nuclear war unleashed by him, or something else, such as rapid climate change and natural disasters?
In the last six months, discussions in the media about a nuclear strike, about a nuclear war, have begun to be presented as a completely possible reality. The forces of the devilish kingdom, which has a huge nuclear stockpile, began to intimidate the free world with the use of a “nuclear club.” This can also be seen in Putin’s words in the film “President” on the Rossiya-1 TV channel about the annexation of Crimea: “I don’t know what interests you will defend, but we, defending ours, will go to the end. And this is an extremely important thing."
The free world and individuals uninfected by Putinism saw the context in these words: “up to the use of nuclear weapons.” For example, Protodeacon Andrei Kuraev writes about this:
“When the leader of an economically weak but nuclear country says that he will “go to the end,” this means that he is ready to go to the nuclear end of humanity. Such a kind uncle. And the public, delighted with such brutality, doesn’t care much that you can’t go to Crimea to relax during the nuclear winter. And that the few survivors after such an “end” are unlikely to find their way to the place that was once called Sevastopol. And what will they need it for?
Allowing nuclear blackmail means complete disorientation in matters of ethics, in matters of the relationship between ends and means. Just 40 years ago, it seemed that there was a consensus in the human world around the thesis that no goals could justify the death of humanity in atomic fire. Now we know that there is such a goal: humanity can be persecuted for the right of Crimeans not to learn the Ukrainian language” (Protodiac. A. Kuraev. The end of the world by hand).
Now the main goal of Putin’s seizure of Crimea is becoming increasingly clear, for which he promises to go “to the end.” Various sources point to the hasty transformation of the peninsula into a worldwide Bolshevik nuclear base, which, in the event of the latter target, has the ability to fire missiles with nuclear charges at all nearby countries.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov cites many facts of the restoration of former nuclear facilities and the introduction of new enterprises according to intelligence data. He's writing:
“NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg recently expressed concern about the possibility of Russian nuclear weapons being deployed in Crimea. How real, in your opinion, is such a threat? This concern, unfortunately, is justified. The Russian Federation continues to deploy additional offensive weapons systems on the territory of occupied Crimea, and active work is underway to deploy nuclear weapons and nuclear delivery systems on the peninsula.” Next, he provides a lot of data about objects related to nuclear weapons. Other sources also indicate this.
And, of course, many adherents of the proper regime consider this acceptable, and even undertake to intimidate Western countries with this. And there are such “hot heads” who propose to destroy the free world (in particular, the USA) using an atomic bomb. We read about this:
“The eternal Russian problem of the existence of the United States on this planet can be solved with just one atomic bomb, and a small one at that. This proposal was made by the Chairman of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems of Russia, a former Navy officer, Konstantin Sivkov, who published a lengthy article “Nuclear Special Forces” on the pages of the Russian publication Military-Industrial Courier. According to the professor, the simplicity of solving the issue is ensured mainly by the very geography and geology of the United States. This country, he emphasizes, is located at two vulnerable points at once. Geologists believe that the Yellowstone volcano could explode at any moment, recalls K. Sivkov in his article. - Therefore, only a relatively small push will be enough for us. For example, you can hit this point with a megaton-class nuclear weapon. This will trigger an eruption, the consequences of which will be catastrophic for the United States. In essence, this state will simply disappear. The entire territory of the United States will be covered with a layer of ash several meters, and possibly several tens of meters.

I think that many may be shocked by such a cannibalistic approach to resolving “their interests.” In the first case, Putin justifies his step with the thesis “Crimea is ours,” and in the second, Bolshevism is the only master on the planet. But in neither case nor in the second case do the authors of the statements think about the fact that at their very first step there will be a retaliatory strike, and then a nuclear war and the imminent destruction of humanity. The Russian “maybe” gives little hope for salvation, but satanic forces are ready for such a step. It remains to make a request for an answer from the Holy Scriptures, and we can already judge with confidence: this will happen or it will not.
In the Apocalypse, after a prophetic review of recent events about the reign of dark forces in the image of a rider on a red horse, after his bloody reign and the cry of souls under the altar for vengeance for their blood, a war is shown under the guise of a terrible earthquake. Next comes peace on the planet. Angels hold back the “winds” that can disturb this peace. Then follow terrible events, shown in the image of trumpet voices causing disasters. By the way, here the first four trumpet voices clearly speak of a nuclear war, followed by other events and the end of the world. They should be presented here in full for each of us to understand:
“Seven Angels, having seven trumpets, prepared to blow.
The first angel sounded, and there was hail and fire, mixed with blood, and fell to the earth; and the third part of the trees was burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
The second angel sounded his trumpet, and as it were a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast into the sea; and the third part of the sea became blood, and the third part of the living creatures that lived in the sea died, and the third part of the ships perished.
The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a lamp, and fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of this star is “wormwood”; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many of the people died from the waters, because they became bitter.
The fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun and the third part of the moon and the third part of the stars were struck, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the third part of the day was not bright, even as the nights” (Rev. 8:6-12).
Some of you reading this tend to think of these events as natural disasters. But, however, they are carried out in such a striking sequence that is inherent in a nuclear war. A strike on land with nuclear charges will inevitably cause a worldwide fire, which will give rise to a darkening of smoke and dust from explosions - a “nuclear winter”, which later turns into a “nuclear summer” - a greenhouse effect that can already destroy both flora and fauna. It must also be said about the sea that the animal world there is very susceptible to environmental changes, which we see through the massive death of fish and whales. And about the sources of water that became bitter “wormwood” we see a warning illustration - Chernobyl, the name of which is taken from the Ukrainian word black epic - wormwood. As the consequences of the four trumpets, further in the Apocalypse the “cups of God’s wrath” are given, repeating the content of the trumpets, but in a global volume and clearly of an ecological nature (Rev. 16:1-11). The similarity of the catastrophes from the trumpets and from the bowls, and the same order of actions emphasizes their cause-and-effect relationship. The bowls of God's wrath occur as a consequence of the greenhouse effect caused by nuclear war, shown in the image of trumpets.
Rev. also speaks about the consequences of nuclear war and the subsequent reign of the Antichrist on the planet. Nile the Myrrh-Streaming:
“People, who have already become vessels of the devil, will have extreme confidence in the Antichrist, will make him the universal ruler and autocrat. Since he will be the weapon of the devil in his last attempt to destroy Christianity from the face of the earth. Being in perdition, people will think that he is Christ the Savior and that he will bring about their salvation. Then the Church Gospel will be neglected.(It seems that his rating will then reach 100% - Arch. V).
Therefore, when destruction brings great disaster into the world, then during these disasters terrible signs will occur. A terrible famine will come, and great greed will come upon the world. A great calamity will come everywhere.”
“When the Antichrist puts his seal on people, their hearts will become as if dead. And then many will die on the roads. People will become like birds of prey, pouncing on carrion, devouring the bodies of the dead. For when a person is sealed with a seal, his heart will become even more insensitive; not being able to bear hunger, people will grab the corpses, and anywhere, sitting on the side of the road, devour them. Finally, he himself, sealed by the Antichrist, will be killed; on the seal the following will be written: “I am yours.” - “Yes, you are mine.” - “I go by will, and not by force.” - “And I accept you by your will, and not by force.” These four sayings or inscriptions will be depicted in the middle of that damned seal.”
Here it clearly does not matter much what appearance the seal will be: in the form of a red star, a hammer and sickle, a pyramid with an “all-seeing eye” or a St. George ribbon - the main thing is that a person becomes a voluntary admirer, a slave of the Antichrist - the devil in the flesh.
“And when the Antichrist sits on his damned throne, then the sea will boil like water boils in a cauldron. When water boils for a long time in a boiler, does it evaporate with steam? It will be the same with the sea. Boiling, it will evaporate and disappear like smoke from the face of the earth. The plants on the earth, the oak trees and all the cedars will dry up, everything will dry up from the heat of the sea, the water veins will dry up; animals, birds, and reptiles will all die. The day will rotate like an hour, the week like a day, the month like a week, and the year like a month. For human wickedness has caused the elements to become tense.”
“The Antichrist will see that human nature has become more crafty and more vain than his most evil children; he will greatly rejoice that evil has increased in people, human natural properties have been lost, and people have become more crafty than demons. And then the Antichrist, rejoicing at the sight of human evil, will suddenly find a “two-edged sword” from above, with which he will be struck, and his unclean spirit will be torn out from his defiled body. When the work of murder is completed and ended, heavenly and earthly bonds will immediately develop. What will happen next - God alone knows” (Posthumous broadcasts of St. Nile the Myrrh-Streaming, Athos, 1912).
It seems that the latter people will be even more crafty than modern Russians, who are always looking for external culprits and enemies, and do not want to see the main enemy, whom the entire free world is afraid of, that he will come to them with his Stalinism.
It remains to remember the most important source, which speaks about the consequences of the war and the reign of the Antichrist over the world, declaring himself God. These are the predictions of Christ Himself to His disciples:
“And then the end will come. So, when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place - let the reader understand - then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything from his house. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world, and never will be. And if those days had not been shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened” (Matt. 24:15-16.21-22).
Here the Savior does not indicate the reason for the haste to flee to the mountains and what causes the “great sorrow,” calling on everyone to understand for themselves. The fact that the “abomination of desolation” - the Antichrist, about whom the prophet Daniel prophesied - will sit in the holy place is understandable, and everyone understands it. But why do you need to run away at this moment and what will grief give birth to? Perhaps the reign of the Antichrist will cause a protest from all the elements in the form of earthquakes and instant climate change? But judging by other sources, it is clear that before his accession great changes will take place in the world, which will give him the opportunity to appear, at least to remember the previous apostasy - a deviation from all norms in faith and morality. Consequently, the cause of grief, as well as the reign of the enemy of the human race, is something else, and the closest thing is what is indicated in the trumpets of the Apocalypse - a nuclear third world war. Other consequences of this are stated as follows:
“And suddenly, after the tribulation of those days, the sun will darken, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven; and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:29-30).
Ap. Luke also adds the following words of the Savior: “And there will be signs in the sun and the moon and in the stars, and on the earth there will be despondency of the nations and bewilderment; and the sea will roar and be troubled; people will expire from fear and anticipation of the disasters coming to the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken” (Luke 21:25-26).
Here we see a complete breakdown of all the bonds of the earthly elements. The heavenly powers will be shaken due to open betrayal of the Creator, with rebellion against Him, led by the enemy of God - Satan. This is already the wrath of God. The beginning of this disorder of the elements, most likely, is a nuclear war, because, judging by the course of developing events, the prediction does not extend to the continuation of the long term.
So everything given here speaks of the inevitability of nuclear war, which is quite consistent with the level of human depravity.
But in this case, what should people do, especially those who see the cause of the impending catastrophe and its fulfillment? Sit silently and watch her diligent preparation? But this is unworthy of man's calling. However, a person can no longer do anything to prevent death. We saw how Bolshevism reigned, and there was no way to get rid of this hydra. Everything was so smoothly running that no forces could shake or overthrow that satanic power. Only by the grace of God did that system temporarily remove itself from the world stage, and it was possible to completely get rid of it. But due to the corruption of the people by Bolshevik education and the constant cleansing of all thinking and truth-loving people through the efforts of Satanists, the nation became incapable of its serious development. Instead of creating a legal democratic or, moreover, a monarchical system, an authoritarian robber system was created with a rapid and inevitable movement towards totalitarianism and a tendency towards a quick return to the former satanocracy. A Bolshevik and an ardent security officer was in power. He turned out to be incapable of caring for the people, creating a rule-of-law state and creating the well-being of all people given the country’s inexhaustible natural resources. But he showed himself to be a great genius in a different direction. Within one year, he managed to make all nations hate our nationality, unleashing an aggressive war of conquest in the Bolshevik-revolutionary style against the other half of our nation - the Ukrainians. Now, due to economic sanctions, in fact, a boycott of all states to curb the aggressor, and our country has lost economic growth, the people are doomed to beggary. But other states also showed themselves not very ready to curb the presumptuous dictator. In his hands was a huge nuclear club, with which he began to hold all nations under fear. Perhaps it is correct to call a nuclear shield a weapon of deterrence. Possessing superiority in this potential can indeed deter the enemy from aggression. But in whose hands is it? If its owner is himself the greatest aggressor, the head of the kingdom of Satan on earth, as the leaders of Bolshevism showed themselves to be and now their successor, Putin, is showing himself to be, then this is already a worldwide tragedy. The question is posed directly: who is who? If the ruler is the protege of the devil himself and the conductor of his plans, then the only salvation of humanity from the reign of Satanism over the whole world can only be deliverance from its existence.
But does humanity have such capabilities? For this, the peoples must find for themselves a victorious idea, a holy, strong faith. The Son of God, having become incarnate, brought true faith to the world, founded His Church - a society of volunteers for salvation, through service to the Creator and His Heavenly Kingdom, which is the guarantee of earthly prosperity. But who is now the true faithful follower of His teachings and a member of His Kingdom? The true direction was Orthodoxy, but all the pseudo-Orthodox who could not maintain their loyalty to Christ broke away from it and actually went to the camp of Satan. There are only hundreds left faithful to Christ, Orthodoxy, and His Church with their shepherds, whom you can count on your fingers. They cannot turn vast humanity towards the truth, especially in the absence of the rights and opportunities for widespread preaching. And all ideas, human “truths,” one way or another, are not victorious against the ruling kingdom of Satan, because they are imperfect and far from the truth. It is already impossible to overthrow the satanic regime by human forces. Hoping for re-election is simply not smart. The entire election system, from village assessors in court to the ruler, is worked out so cleverly that not a single person disliked by the system can be elected. The totalitarian system has already defined itself for “eternal” existence. And it’s also stupid to think about a revolutionary overthrow or a coup d’état in the direction of the holy powers. Firstly, the masses of the people have been completely bullied by television lies to the level of zombies. Secondly, the system protected itself by enriching the bureaucracy at all levels and security forces, so that they would lie dead in defense of the ruling regime. And she is not afraid of hunger riots. A coup d'état is also unthinkable, because total surveillance of everyone around us and each other ensures their complete safety. A military invasion by NATO or the United States is also excluded, because the rulers of leading countries are dependent on Russian wealth and resources and live in fear of the nuclear potential of the Bolshevik camp. In addition, the long peace and Russia's temporary orientation towards democracy chilled them so much that they became incapable of decisive action; They even managed to disarm. Therefore, the Antichrist can come to power unhindered. The only hope is for the miracle promised in the Apocalypse, by which he will be temporarily eliminated.
But when he reigns (apparently after a nuclear war), then with the experience he has acquired in our days and with the final corruption of the masses, his power will be invincible. The Apocalypse again proclaims this:
“And all the earth marveled as they watched the beast, and they worshiped the dragon, which gave power to the beast, saying, Who is like this beast? And who can fight him? And a mouth was given to him speaking proudly and blasphemously, and authority was given to him to continue for forty-two months. And he opened his mouth to blaspheme God, to blaspheme His name, and His habitation, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given to him to make war with the saints and defeat them; and authority was given to him over every tribe and people and tongue and nation. And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names were not written in the book of life of the Lamb, who was slain from the foundation of the world. He who has an ear, let him hear. He who leads into captivity will himself go into captivity; whoever kills with the sword must himself be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and faith of the saints” (Rev. 13:3-10).
And his invincibility stems from the fact that this is “given.” But while this is not given to him, people are obliged to make efforts to get rid of this regime. And when they are liberated again, as in 1991, or as now in Ukraine, then every effort must be made to mercilessly eradicate even everything reminiscent of Bolshevism, Stalinism, the past or what is being returned now. People and especially the Church of Christ have been given much to exercise free will. May the Lord postpone the predicted sorrow, or cancel it, as once did the destruction of Nineveh after the preaching of the prophet Jonah, and the repentance of the Ninevites.
