Polymer clay beads. Master class: set of jewelry made of clay beads and natural stones

This review is made up of various master classes and photographs; you can go to them by clicking on the photo.

Speaking about the disposal of scraps, they need to be divided into several types:

1. Trimmings with a fine pattern of gray-brown-raspberry color

2. Large pieces glued to each other

3. Old sausages.

4. Cuttings of sausages, kaleidoscopes.

5. Baked beads and very old clay.

In this order we will consider:

1. 1. This clay can be used as a base for bracelets, and as a backing for designs for large pendants.

1.2. In addition, you can make beads or blanks with stamps and use them for subsequent tinting.

perlex or shadows before baking:

Acrylic and oil paints after baking:

nail glitter before baking, rubbing into the surface:

1.3. A separate point is the use of embossing powder. I tried it, it turns out beautifully and pleasantly for the hands:

2.1 large trimmings can be used for mokume-gane:

2.2. As an option, use the drawing itself, playing up its “natural” beauty. When you click on the photo, you will find a master class from Artybecca.

2.3. You can enrich the design by adding streaks with a toothpick and a simple texture, say, fabric. Without MK, just a photo:

2.4. I know from my own experience that it is useless to store mixed pieces of translucent clay; over time you forget what color it is and you are afraid to add it to your work. Therefore, it is better to use such trimmings immediately. For example, adding spices or glitter:

2.5. large stains are good for watercolor techniques. To do this, you need to add a contrasting color, for example, black or white, to the scrap layer:

2.6. Another option with a contrasting layer and salt

2.7.You can use them for beads of chips, both small and large:

2.8. And how beautifully the gold leaf decorates everything:

For some jobs you just want to mix scraps)))

3.1. Sausages are also suitable for mokume:

3.2. you can make a new sausage from old sausages) Usually this is not the most a good option. When I come up with a design, I need one more sausage to include in the set. Thus, there are more sausages left than there were at first))) But still this good way, if you are tired of the old sausages:

The bottom row is made entirely from old sausages:

3.3. When you cut old sausages crosswise, you get stripes. You can simply roll them out in a pasta machine or build something voluminous:

3.4. I’ll highlight it separately, although this is also a sausage, but still a separate type - a kaleidoscope of simple sausages:

And this one is made from sausages that were made from scraps)

3.5. another option. you can use any sausage, stretch it as thin as possible, lay out the pattern and cut off the tops:

4.1 Sausage tails and medium-sized slices with a pattern are the treasures of polymer scraps. I really love making snails.

4.2. An interesting effect is obtained if you run a toothpick along a twisted surface:

4.3. Another type of beads for which scraps are better than new colors are mirror beads:

4.4. The scraps can be twisted in the extruder.

We get these options

4.4.1 Torn edge technique from Tanya Mayorova

4.4.2. thicker stripes from Eva Haskova

4.4.3. very nice beads are made from a simple round sausage base:

or lentils, whoever has the patience for that)

4.4.5. Or roll it like this. Or get creative and wrap it up somehow:

4.5 One of the most popular methods, which everyone has probably already tried, is Stroppel cane

Student example:

4.6. The tails of the kaleidoscope can also be rolled as beads. So what if it’s not a whole kaleidoscope. The main thing is that the colors are beautiful:

4.7. You can also make canes from ponytails:

4.8. If you roll the scraps into a rope and then roll them out in a pasta machine, you get strips. They can also be used in different ways:

4.8.1.You can just leave it in stripes:

4.8.2. Or you can cut and fold a new pattern:

4.8.3. And these are not stripes, but just stains. Sometimes you twirl beautiful scraps in your hands and once you get something similar to a stone, you roll them out on a machine or with a rolling pin and you’re done:

4.9. Particularly thrifty ones even use the layer after cutting with molds. Why not, if the pattern is successful)

5.1. using old beads is the hardest part. It's easier to prevent than to fix. If you don’t like it, don’t bake it, see all the options above))) But here’s an option: cut the beads into halves and decorate them:

5.2. Or simply cover the bead with a different color or sausage cuts. In this case, you must make a hole in the place where the hole was so that the bead does not swell during baking.

5.3. The old dried layer can be crumbled and the following beads can be made:

5.4. This tutorial also used sausage that was almost dry. Everything is ground in a coffee grinder:

5.5. Some more embossing powder from Galina Bounty:

0.1.Oh yes, I almost forgot, you can simply twirl the scraps in your hands and roll out beads. I am writing this method at the very end so that all the craftswomen will forget about it, there are so many different other methods. Just kidding, of course. You need to sculpt whatever you like)

and here is a version of the form for beads with streaks. The shampoo bottle transforms.

Hello! This step by step wizard The photo class is suitable for all handmade lovers. We will tell you how to quickly and easily make beautiful small beads from this sausage technique. polymer clay, we will teach you how to form a “cane” with a floral pattern with your own hands and squeeze it. In order to make clay beads, the first thing you need to do is decide on the color scheme.

We select all the necessary materials

To make beads, I used:

  • polymer clay in white, blue, pink, yellow and black;
  • sharp knife or scalpel;
  • pasta machine or rolling pin;

Step-by-step master class on creating beads from polymer clay with photos

Let's start by making the middle of the flower. It will be pink and striped on the sides. To do this, I roll out a layer of white and black clay on a pasta machine. I cut out identical rectangles from them, put them on top of each other, and roll them through the machine again.

I cut the resulting double-sided strip into pieces. I got four pieces, 5 cm in length. Next, I layer them on top of each other, trying not to leave any air between the layers. And I make an even square out of them, as in the photo below.

Then, to make flower sausage, I make a pink center (you need a small block of pink clay). I cut my striped square into small pieces and lay the block in a circle. I’ll say right away that I ended up with a large middle, and there was a lot of excess left (of course, it will come in handy someday), but It’s better to make it smaller initially.

Next, I'll need a cane with a white center and a blue edge. I cut it into five equal parts and first give it the shape of a droplet, and then squeeze it on the other side in the same way. This results in a wide center and narrow edges.

And now we begin to squeeze our barrel, make a cane (sausage) out of it. To do this, take the workpiece in the middle, large and index fingers, and slowly squeeze, turning it to the right, then to the left. Pinch a little in the middle, and then start squeezing and pulling at the edges.

Remember! To prevent the design inside the cane from being distorted, you CANNOT immediately roll it on the work surface! Only after you have squeezed the cane well can you start rolling it. But not much!

We insert our middle, which we did at the beginning. If it also turns out to be big, then you need to shrink it down to the right size. Just don't squeeze it all. Cut some part from the main sausage and squeeze it.

So that our flower does not lose its shape, we need to insert small triangles between each petal. Then you need to wrap a thin strip of rolled plastic around the entire flower - the photo below will help you. For me this role is played by yellow clay.

Making beads from a clay sausage with a description

I cut my finished cane into two unequal parts, one larger, the other smaller. I'm putting off the big one for now.

For now we will work with the smaller part, which I press again and put in the freezer for about 10 minutes. This sausage will not be deformed during cutting. While it is in the freezer, we will use the remaining pieces of plastic to prepare the base for the beads - small multi-colored balls. I take out the cane and cut it thinly.

Then we paste each bead blank with our thin flowers on all sides and roll it until the boundaries between the colorful layers are erased. The finished bead must be pierced through with a toothpick and placed in the oven. We coat the burnt beads with varnish and use them in our creativity! Our MK is finished! We recommend reading our other master classes - about and.

Good luck to you in your creativity!

Interesting wedding-themed beads.

Polymer clay beads

The long winter always lacks the unique colors of summer. And how I long for sunshine and warmth! Such a bright “spot” in your wardrobe can be a decoration made of baked clay - polymer clay beads with a pendant, made by yourself.

Fancy shapes of the pattern, beads of different shapes and a pendant in the form of an exotic flower and “eye” will delight and update your everyday outfit.

Tools and materials for making jewelry:

Baked polymer clay of different shades of red (from light pink to burgundy) and black clay

Pasta machine (a rolling pin or any round object, such as a deodorant can)

Blade or utility knife

Toothpicks

Red waxed cord

Bail and jump rings

Carabiner lock (if necessary), end clamps

Gloss varnish

How to make pendant beads:

2. Roll out the prepared pieces of clay using a pasta machine in mode No. 2. The black clay needs to be rolled out very thin a little later.

3.Fold the plates of contrasting colors and cut them in half.

4. Roll out these “sandwiches” again in a pasta machine and cut them into several pieces. Place the rounded parts aside; later they will be used to form flower petals.

5.Fold all parts of the same color into one block, line each with a black plate.

6. Gently press to force out the air and bring the edges together.

7.Chop the finished bars into thin slices.

8. Roll into balls from black clay different sizes. Pull out the striped plates. The longer they are, the more turns you can make around the balls.

9.Wrap the black beads in strips, turning the strip in a spiral, first of one color, then of another color. Press them to the bead

10.Roll the beads in your hands.

11.Fold the remaining rounded parts together, just like the previous ones. Also place black plates between them

12. Shrink, maintaining the shape of the petal. Cut into thin slices. Make a flower stand in the form of a circle.

13.Place the flower on the stand, starting with larger pieces. Bend the petals. Make the core of the flower from red clay.

14.Make a hole in the top of one of the petals with a toothpick. Bake with it, but make sure that it is in a vertical position, otherwise the hole will “spread”.

15.Make contrasting beads from the remaining clay.

16.All the blanks are ready, now you need to make holes in them. If it is not possible to drill the beads after baking, then it’s time to do it now using toothpicks as indicated in the master class.

17.The plastic must be baked strictly according to the instructions. You can find it on the packaging. After the beads and pendant have cooled, coat them with varnish.

You can assemble the blanks into decoration only after the varnish has completely dried. Place the beads on a cord, alternating striped beads with plain ones, and connect the pendant to the bail. If necessary, place the ends of the cord in clamps and put on a carabiner lock. Or simply tie the ends of the cord into a knot.

The decoration is ready! We put on polymer clay beads, admire the bright colors and smile!

There is nothing sweeter and more beautiful than jewelry made by yourself, be it earrings or beads, or maybe a pendant or pendant: any jewelry that you create yourself will be one and only. Of course, you can buy any ready-made beads, but if you make them yourself, you will be sure that no one else has them. This means your jewelry is unique. I suggest you make a set of jewelry from natural materials - clay and semi-precious natural gemstones. We will make clay beads ourselves. We will select gems to go with them. As a result, we will get a beautiful designer product made from natural materials - exquisite and beautiful!

First of all, it is worth noting that creating jewelry is creativity. First, let's decide what exactly we want. I would recommend making a set of beads, bracelet and earrings at once. Then you need to decide on the design - mentally imagine what kind of product it will be (holiday or everyday), in what style, with what clothes you can wear it. You can make sketches on paper - take colored pencils and try to depict your future decoration. In order to determine the compatibility of colors, it would be good to lay out the clay beads on a sheet of white paper. Once you have decided on compatibility, think about the sequence in which the beads will be strung (for example, two green - blue - white). For simulation creative process look beautiful pictures- preferably in the same colors as the beads you have. When you find a suitable picture, look at it carefully, find the colors, and you will have ideas for designer jewelry made from natural stones based on what you saw.

I will tell you how to make products from natural stone and clay - a set of tropical style jewelry. In the summer, it couldn’t come at a better time: the sandy colors of the beads are in perfect harmony with the sunny mood, and when winter comes, putting on the beads will remind you of summer.

First you need to make beads from clay. This process is labor-intensive, takes about four days (that’s how long they will dry), but at the same time creative, and therefore enjoyable.

Required materials and tools

  • Clay in briquettes (the packaging should indicate that it can be fired in a home oven)
  • Toothpicks
  • Brush
  • Paints for ceramics.

How to make clay beads with your own hands

  1. Prepare the work surface: cover the table with oilcloth, place a bowl of water next to it, and put towels.
  2. Knead the clay with your hands and beat it well for ten minutes. The better the clay is mixed, the easier it will be to work with.
  3. Roll a layer of clay into a thin rope, cut off small identical pieces with a knife - future beads.
  4. Form beads into the required shape. Depending on your desire, these can be oval, round, square beads.
  5. Place each bead on a toothpick. This is how we form the future holes for stringing.
  6. While the clay has not dried, you can make patterns. Scratch grooves along the bead with a toothpick, and make holes with the tip of a fountain pen. Use any items that come to hand. The relief of beads is a huge scope for creativity.
  7. After two or three days the beads will dry out. Now they need to be burned. For firing, a regular kitchen oven preheated to 170 degrees is suitable. Place the beads on a baking sheet covered with cooking paper. There is no need to remove the toothpick - it will burn during the firing process, leaving the hole we need for stringing.
  8. After firing, some of the beads can be set aside, and some can be painted. Carefully place the bead on the toothpick and paint with the brush on all sides.
  9. Place the finished painted beads in a glass and let them dry.
  10. If you want to apply paint in several layers or draw designs on beads on top of a painted background, you need to dry each layer of paint and apply the design on the dried surface.

If you have any clay dough left over, you need to wrap it in damp cloth, put in a tight plastic bag and put in a cool place. This way clay can be stored for quite a long time.

Once the homemade clay beads are ready, you can begin making jewelry. I suggest you use only natural materials, so we take natural semi-precious stones - yellow and green onyx - to accompany the clay beads. In addition, we will need some tools and materials.

  • Earrings and pins for earrings
  • Carabiner lock
  • Threads (you can buy a special thread for beads - sold in craft stores, or you can take regular floss threads - they are quite strong and easy to work with)
  • Thin needle with narrow eye
  • Thin durable elastic band
  • Metal scissors
  • Thin forceps.

The simplest bracelet

The bracelet is quite simple to make, the main thing is to find a high-quality elastic band. I don’t recommend taking the one that’s covered with threads on top - you’ll end up with big knots. But the simplest one (as in the photo) will suit us.

  1. So, cut off the required amount of elastic - three wrist lengths.
  2. We thread the end through the beads. For strength, I recommend stretching the elastic band twice.
  3. After stringing the beads, tie the ends into a strong knot. If the holes of the beads are wide enough, we hide the knot in the hole of the outer bead. If your beads have very narrow holes, you can add one with a wide one, such as metal or silver, at the end.
  4. We hide the bundle inside.

Earrings made of clay and stones

We take a pin, string two beads on it, insert the end of the stick into the earring ring, and use thin tweezers to bend the tip of the stick into a loop.

If the wire is too long, carefully cut the tip to the required length using metal scissors.

Beads made from stones and clay beads

We make long beads, so we don't need a clasp.

Take a thread of the required length + 7 cm - for me it is 107 cm, thread the end into a needle and fold the thread in half.

We tie a knot at the end, but do not tighten it - then you will need to untie it.

We string beads from natural semi-precious stones and clay beads in accordance with the sketch. I have a metal zebra pendant in the middle.

We tie the ends of the thread into a knot. For strength, we make a triple knot and hide it in the hole of one of the outer beads.

As a result, we should get a wonderful designer piece of jewelry made from natural semi-precious stones and unique handmade clay beads!
