Reading a psalm by children in roles. Prayer for children while reading the psalter. A short prayer for the blessing of children

All about religion and faith - "prayer for children when reading the psalter" with a detailed description and photographs.

“It has not entered the heart of man that God has prepared for those who love Him,” writes the Apostle Paul to the Christians of the city of Corinth. This means that a person will not have enough imagination to imagine what another world looks like, where he will appear before God face to face. But when a relative or friend dies, one wants to know what happens to him beyond the bounds of being. When and how to pray to God to ease your grief for the departed and the path of his soul to eternity? Church and home prayers for the newly deceased, when carefully read, give the Christian consolation and instruction.

The newly reposed (that is, those who have just appeared before God) are called deceased from the moment of death to a year. Over many centuries, several customs have been established in the Orthodox Church to commemorate the newly deceased:

  • daily reading of the Psalter with a special prayer;
  • magpie, performed in the temple;
  • memorial services on the 3rd, 9th and 40th day;
  • lithium on the grave on the days of the general commemoration of the dead;
  • donations, memorial meals.

Pious Christians try to do the above even after a year. In this way, the fate of the deceased is alleviated and the commandment of the Lord about love for neighbors is fulfilled.

Reading the Psalter for the newly deceased

When the body of the deceased is still in the house and the priest is expected to arrive for the funeral, the relatives take turns, including at night, read the Psalter over the deceased. In the absence of proper skill, they invite a church reader or a pious layman who has experience in this.

For reading, they set up a lectern (book stand) or a small table, placing it in the heads of the deceased, light a candle. It is not forbidden, along with a candle, to use a table lamp. With prolonged reading and extreme fatigue, the reader can continue the prayer while sitting, getting up only for bows at the words “Glory: and now: Hallelujah” and the prayer performed after each kathisma.

Friends and relatives can quietly enter and exit during the performance of the Psalter, praying for the deceased relative according to their strength. The guest reader, if possible, can read all night or limit yourself to reading the Book of Psalms once. For the work he has done, he is offered a monetary donation, part of the memorial meal, and they ask for prayers for the deceased.

The sound of psalms at the tomb of the newly deceased calms the grief of loved ones and inspires hope in the mercy of God, with whom the soul of the deceased will meet very soon.

On the day of burial, believing relatives and friends of the deceased agree among themselves to continue reading the Psalter until the fortieth day. Everyone undertakes to read one kathisma every day.

Prayer for the Newly Departed

The Psalter consists of 20 kathismas, each of which is divided into three parts. After each part, three bows are made and a short prayer is read:

“God rest, Lord, the soul of Your servant (name), forgive him sins voluntary and involuntary, and grant him the Kingdom of Heaven”.

At the end of the kathisma, they read a prayer for the deceased up to 40 days, located at the end of the Psalter, in the chapter "On reading the Psalter for the deceased." If there is no such chapter in the book, a separately printed text is used.

For conscious reading, one must understand the meaning of some words and expressions that make up the text.

  • "in the hope of eternal life"- hoping for eternal life;
  • "forgive sins and consume unrighteousness"- these words refer to the Lord, Who forgives sins and destroys the wrong deeds created by man;
  • "voluntary and involuntary sin"- sins committed intentionally and unintentionally;
  • "communion of the eternal good"- receive a part of eternal blessings;
  • "Amen"- everything said is true.

Magpie order in the temple

Prayer on the 3rd, 9th and 40th day

Commemoration on special days after death existed even in paganism. Wishing to sanctify folk customs, the Church decided to pray for the soul of the deceased within the time limits established by antiquity. It is impossible for the human mind to know what is happening in a world where there is no time. To make it easier to imagine the afterlife of the deceased, The church divides it into periods:

3rd day, burial

On the third day after death, a burial (funeral service) is performed.- an Orthodox ceremony with the participation of a priest and the obligatory prayer of loved ones. Burial takes place over the coffin of the deceased. In the event of a tragic death, when the body cannot be found, an absentee funeral is performed in the temple.

The rite of burial is very long and in ancient times lasted about two hours. Today it is shortened to 20 minutes. This will not affect the fate of the deceased if relatives fervently pray for his soul.

After the ceremony, a memorial meal is arranged, to which in the old days the poor and the poor were invited, asking their prayers for the deceased.

9th day, beginning of ordeals or "twenty judgments"

On this important day, loved ones gather in the temple, to serve a memorial service. The soul of the deceased, having enjoyed the contemplation of heavenly abodes, is preparing to answer for all the untruths committed. Demons approach her, reminiscent of even the smallest offenses related to twenty types of sins. Angels answer them, pointing to the good deeds of the deceased or the church repentance brought by him. It is hard for the soul, for which the Angels cannot answer. Then the prayers of loved ones, performed on the 9th day and all subsequent time, until the 40th day, are placed on the scales.

40th day, determining the location of the soul

On the 40th day, the memorial meal is again assembled, a memorial service is ordered in the temple. You can extend the completed magpie or order the reading of the "Indestructible Psalter" in the monastery. Relatives of the deceased pray that God would have mercy on the soul and determine it to await the Last Judgment in heavenly bliss.

It is better to call as many people as possible to prayer, doing alms on behalf of the deceased. Usually they distribute food, money or clothes to the poor, saying: "Remember the repose of the servant of God (name)." The one who takes alms is baptized and answers with a prayer: “Remember, Lord, Thy servant in Thy Kingdom.”

After 40 days, the reading of the Psalter for the deceased stops, but his name is constantly commemorated when reading kathismas at home or listening to them in the temple. Enough on the "Glory" mentally say "Remember, Lord, Thy servant."

In some cases, by agreement with the priest, a funeral liturgy can be performed in the church.

Saturdays

Before a year has passed from the day of death, the deceased is called the newly deceased. There is also a custom to do this only until the 40th day. Both traditions are acceptable.

Litia for the dead are celebrated every Saturday in the church., for which you should apply a note and a candle. On the days of church-wide commemoration - Parental Saturdays - they bring food for the servants of the temple so that they join in prayer. It is good to put a note with the name of the deceased in the package with the offering, be sure to mark "for the dead."

Upon completion of the year from the date of death, a capital monument (cross) is erected over the grave and a memorial service is served. After that, the deceased is called "ever-remembered" (who is remembered forever).

Home prayer for the newly deceased

Almost all the texts that sounded in the temple at the funeral service and memorial services can be used in home prayer for the deceased. You can find them in the prayer book or breviary.. Usually, the commemoration of the newly deceased is performed according to the morning rule, where a separate text is devoted to this.

Prayer for the newly deceased soothes the bitterness of separation, allows you to spiritually connect with him, help his situation. For a longer prayer, there is the "Canon for the One Who Died", where, for convenience, the commemoration is carried out in the singular. An akathist with the same name can be added to the canon. These texts are found in liturgical books, so for reading at home it is more convenient to buy a separate edition in the temple or print it from the Internet. There is a tradition to read the canon and akathist on the fortieth day.

Visiting the grave, the layman himself can sing the troparia “With the spirits of the righteous who have died”, “Repose to the saints”, “Eternal memory”.

How to read the psalter at home

The Psalter is a book of sacred hymns or psalms, most of which were written by King David at the instigation of the Holy Spirit. In each psalm we see the pain, joy, confusion or triumph that the Great Psalmist experienced when he created these sacred texts.

Psalms have been used in worship since Old Testament times. And in our time at the services we hear choral singing or the reading of psalms. The reading of the Psalter in the temple is regulated by the Typicon, the liturgical charter.

In the Orthodox Church, there is a good tradition of reading the Psalter in private (at home). The Holy Book is read either by agreement - several believers, reading the entire Psalter in a day, or individually, according to a kathisma (section of the Psalter) per day. Having taken upon himself the rule of diligently and carefully reading the Psalter at home, a Christian accomplishes a small feat, this is both difficult and at the same time brings great peace to the soul.

There is no rule for reading the Psalter at home. But over time, certain rules have developed, the implementation of which is desirable.

  • Without the blessing taken from the priest, it is impossible to start reading the psalter.
  • Before reading begins, a candle or lamp is lit. The fire when reading is not ignited only if you are currently on the road.
  • Following the advice of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, one should read the Psalter aloud, quietly. This facilitates the perception of the sacred text not only by the mind, but also by hearing. “Give joy and gladness to my ears” (Ps. 50:10).
  • It is impossible to place stresses in words incorrectly. It is a sin. From the wrong placement of stresses, the meaning of the word changes, the phrase is distorted.
  • If it is difficult to stand, then it is allowed to read the Holy Book while sitting. It is necessary to get up when the "Glory" and the prayers are read, with which the reading of the Psalter or kathisma begins and ends.
  • When following the rule, one should not indulge in excessive passion. Let the reading be a little monotonous, devoid of theatricality.
  • No need to read the titles of the psalms.
  • Do not be discouraged by the fact that at first it is not clear what the psalms are talking about. The beauty of ancient texts is gradually revealed, and their meaning becomes clear.
  • First read " Prayers before reading the Psalter ".
  • The Psalter is divided into twenty kathismas, which are divided into parts by three Glories. At Glories, when reading the Psalter at home, the living and the dead are commemorated.
  • After reading the kathisma, it is obligatory to read the troparia and prayers.
  • The Psalter ends with the reading of "Prayers for reading several kathismas or the entire Psalter."
  • Do not be afraid to make a mistake in something or read something incorrectly, not according to the charter. Sincere repentance, gratitude for everything will make prayer alive, regardless of any mistakes.

Reading Order of the Psalter

The liturgical charter for reading the Psalter is specified in Chapter 17 of the Typicon. In general, Orthodox worship basically consists of the Psalter. Psalms are the core, the foundation of the service. From the daily liturgical circle there is not a single divine service in which psalms are not used, in almost all the followings of the Trebnik texts from the Psalter are used.

Along with the reading of kathismata at Vespers, Matins and the Great Lenten Hours, psalms are used separately in worship (for example, the Hours are based on three psalms) and verses from them (prokeimnas, chants to stichera).

For a week in the temples, the Psalter is necessarily read 1 time in full, during the period of Great Lent, twice a week.

For the laity, the Psalter has become an indispensable book in home prayer. There are no special instructions here on how one should read the Psalter at home, but the general rules are similar to the liturgical ones. The Psalter is read with prayers for health, for the repose of the dead, especially during periods of fasting.

The Rule of Reading the Psalter at an Orthodox Divine Liturgy

In cell reading, it is customary to divide kathismas into three Glories. Before and after the kathisma, special prayers are read.

Before reading a kathisma or several kathismas:

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us.

Amen. King of Heaven. Trisagion. And according to our Father...

Lord have mercy (12 times)

Come, let us worship the King our God. (bow)

Come, let us bow down and bow down to Christ, the King of our God. (bow)

Come, let us bow down and bow down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. (bow)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and forever and ever. Amen

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to Thee, God. (thrice)

Lord have mercy (thrice)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

and now and forever and forever and ever. Amen

After reading the kathisma, the Trisagion, the troparia and the prayer according to the kathisma

It is worthy to eat as if truly bless Thee, the Mother of God, the Blessed and Immaculate and Mother of our God.

The most honest Cherubim and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, without the corruption of God the Word, who gave birth to the real Mother of God, we magnify Thee.

Glory, and now. Lord, have mercy (thrice).

Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the prayer for the sake of the Mother Mothers, the power of the honest and life-waggnogo cross and the saints of the celestial forces of challenging, and the reverend and the governments of our father, and the Sainry of the Prophet of David, and all the saints, humbly and save me, sinning, Humanitarian. Amen.

Prayers for health and repose in Glory

Save, Lord, and have mercy on my spiritual father (name), my parents (names), relatives (names), bosses, mentors, benefactors (names) and all Orthodox Christians.

Give rest, Lord, to the souls of your departed servants: my parents, relatives, benefactors (names) and all Orthodox Christians, and forgive them all sins, voluntary and involuntary, and grant them the Kingdom of Heaven.

Reading the Psalter for the Dead

The custom of reading the Psalter for the dead goes back to ancient times, reading this undoubtedly brings them great consolation in itself, as reading the word of God, and as testifying to the love for them and the memory of them living brethren. It also brings them great benefit, for it is accepted by the Lord as a pleasant propitiatory sacrifice for the cleansing of the sins of those who are commemorated - just as any prayer, any good deed is accepted by Him.

Psalms should be read with tenderness and contrition of the heart, without haste, delving into what is being read with attention. The reading of the Psalter by the commemorators themselves brings the greatest benefit: it testifies to the great degree of love and zeal for the commemorated of their living brethren, who themselves personally want to work in their memory, and not replace themselves in labor with others.

The feat of reading will be accepted by the Lord not only as a sacrifice for those who are commemorated, but as a sacrifice for those who bring it themselves, those who labor in reading.

Of course, one who is capable of this and has certain knowledge appropriate for serving a sacred cause can take over the reading of the Psalter at the tomb of the deceased. The sacrificial impulse of commemorating relatives or friends of the deceased can in many ways, but not in everything, make up for their poor preparedness. In addition, the reading of the Psalter at the tomb should be as continuous as possible, and this requires several successive readers. Therefore, there is a custom to invite for sacred reading people capable of it, adding to this invitation the giving of alms for those who are commemorated. However, in any case, the duty of attention to the word of God and prayer for the soul of the deceased lies not with one reader of the Psalter, but also with the relatives of the deceased.

The very reading of the Psalter for the dead is of two kinds. The first is a purely reading of the Psalter over the coffin of the deceased in the coming days and weeks after his death - for example, until the 40th day. Reading the God-inspired psalms of David should ideally be a daily private activity for Orthodox Christians, so it is a common custom to combine cell (home) reading of the Psalter with commemoration of the living and the dead - this is another kind of reading of the Psalter with commemoration.

If the Psalter is read only for the deceased, before the first kathisma, the Canon must be read for the one who died. After the canon - “It is worthy to eat ..” and further to the end, as indicated in the rank of the cell reading of the Canon for the one who died.

When the psalter is read at the tomb of the deceased, the Priest present first performs the Follow-up on the exodus of the soul and body. After that, the reader begins reading the Psalter

At the end of the entire Psalter, the reader again reads the Canon for the one who died, and after it the reading of the Psalter begins again, and this is repeated throughout the reading of the Psalter for the deceased.

“When reading the Psalter at the tomb of the deceased,” writes Vladyka Afanasy (Sakhorov) in his exhaustive study “On the Commemoration of the Dead According to the Rule of the Orthodox Church,” “there is no need to read the troparia and prayers assigned to the usual cell rule according to kathismas. It will be more appropriate in all cases, and after each "Glory:", and after the kathisma, to read a special memorial prayer. The practice of Ancient Russia consecrated the use in this case of that funeral troparion, with which the cell reading of the funeral canons should end: “Remember, Lord, the soul of your departed servant”, and during the reading five bows are supposed, in the troparion itself it is read three times. According to the same ancient practice, the reading of the Psalter for the dead is preceded by the reading of the Canon for the deceased, after which the reading of the Psalter begins. After reading all the psalms, the funeral Canon is read again, after which the reading of the first kathisma begins again. This order continues throughout the reading of the Psalter for the dead.”

Now a somewhat different tradition of reading the Psalter at the tomb has also become widespread: according to the first and second “Glory:” kathismas, the prayer is read “Remember, Lord our God. “, and at the end of the kathisma, the troparia are recited (and not the troparia at the end of this kathisma) and the prayer put after the kathisma. This reading order is recommended in the Psalter of the edition of the Moscow Patriarchate (1973) and some other editions.

When reading the Psalter at the grave of the deceased, one should take into account the tradition and each time precede the reading of the 1st kathisma with the reading of the funeral canon.

In conclusion, it remains only to add that it is more fitting for any reader of the Psalter (experienced or inexperienced) to stand like a person praying (at the feet of the coffin of the deceased), if a special extreme does not force him to sit down. Negligence in this matter, as in the observance of other pious customs, is offensive both to the sacred rite, blessed by the Holy Church, and to the word of God, which, in case of carelessness, is read as if inconsistent with the intention and feeling of the praying Christian.

Follow-up when reading the Psalter for the dead

The reading of each kathisma begins with a prayer:

Come, let us worship our King God.

Come, let us bow down and bow down to Christ, our King God.

Come, let us worship and bow down to Christ Himself, the King and our God.

(When reading a kathisma for each “Glory” (which reads as “Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, And now and forever and forever and ever Amen”), it is pronounced:

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, And now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, glory to Thee, O God! (thrice.),

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Then a prayer request is read for the deceased “Remember, Lord our God.”, located at the end of the “Following the Exodus of the Soul”, and the name of the deceased is commemorated on it with the addition (until the fortieth day from the date of death) of the word “newly reposed):

Remember, Lord our God, in the faith and hope of the belly of your eternally reposed servant, our brother [name] and as Good and Lover of mankind, forgive sins, and consume iniquities, weaken, leave and forgive all his voluntary sins and involuntary, deliver him eternal torment and the fire of Gehenna, and grant him the communion and enjoyment of Your eternal good, prepared for those who love You: if you sin, but do not depart from You, and unquestionably in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Your God in the Trinity glorified, faith, and Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity, Orthodox even until his last breath of confession. Be merciful to him the same, and faith, even in Thee instead of deeds, and with Your saints, as if Generous rest: there is no man who lives and does not sin. But Thou art One, apart from all sin, and Thy righteousness, righteousness forever, and Thou art the One God of mercies and generosity, and love of mankind, and to Thee we send glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Then the reading of the kathisma psalms continues). At the end of the kathisma it reads:

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Read three times, with the sign of the cross and a bow from the waist.)

Complete collection and description: psalm prayer for children for the spiritual life of a believer.

On the Importance of Reading the Psalter for Children

Nun Sarah (Tambiyeva), spiritual daughter of Hieroschemamonk Stefan (Ignatenko), said:

Read the Psalter as your mother taught you. If you want well-being and piety for children, then you will not find a stronger and holier means of this on our earth under heaven. John Chrysostom, the great saint, said to the question about reading the Psalter: “It is better for the course of the sun to stop than to stop reading the Psalter.” Especially mothers about children. This reading is the greatest medicine for all diseases - both mental, and spiritual, and bodily.

Prayers of a father or mother for children

Holy Father, Eternal God, every gift or every good comes from You. I diligently pray to you for the children whom your grace has bestowed on me. You gave them life, revived them with an immortal soul, revived them with holy baptism, so that they, in accordance with Your will, inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, save them, according to Your goodness, until the end of their lives. Sanctify them in Thy truth, that Thy name may be sanctified in them. Help me by Your grace to educate them for the glory of Your name and for the benefit of others, give me the necessary means for this: patience and strength. Lord, enlighten them with the light of Thy Wisdom, may they love Thee with all their soul, with all their thoughts, instill in their hearts fear and aversion from all iniquity, may they walk in Thy commandments, adorn their souls with chastity, diligence, long-suffering, honesty, protect them with truth from slander vanity, abominations, sprinkle with the dew of Thy grace, may they succeed in virtues and holiness, and may they grow in Thy good pleasure, in love and piety. May the guardian angel always be with them and keep their youth from vain thoughts, from the seduction of the temptations of this world and from all kinds of crafty slander. If, however, when they sin against You, Lord, do not turn Your face away from them, but be merciful to them, arouse repentance in their hearts according to the multitude of Your bounties, cleanse their sins and do not deprive them of Your blessings, but give them everything that is necessary for their salvation, preserving them from every illness, danger, trouble and sorrow, overshadowing them with Your mercy all the days of this life. God, I pray to You, give me joy and joy about my children and make me stand with them at Your Last Judgment, with shameless boldness to say: “Here I am and the children whom You gave me, Lord. Amen". Let us glorify Your All-Holy Name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God and Father, Creator and Preserver of all creatures! Give thanks to my poor children (names) By Your Holy Spirit, may He kindle in them the true fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom and direct prudence, according to which whoever acts, that praise abides forever. Bless them with true knowledge of Thee, keep them from all idolatry and false doctrine, make them grow in true and saving faith and in all piety, and may they remain in them constantly to the end. Grant them a believing, obedient and humble heart and mind, may they grow in years and in grace before God and before people. Plant in their hearts love for Your Divine Word, so that they are reverent in prayer and worship, respectful to the servants of the Word and sincere in their actions with everything, bashful in body movements, chaste in morals, true in words, faithful in deeds, diligent in studies. happy in the performance of their duties, reasonable and righteous towards all people. Keep them from all the temptations of the evil world, and may not evil society corrupt them. Do not let them fall into impurity and unchastity, may they not shorten their lives for themselves and may they not offend others. Protect them in every danger, so that they do not suffer sudden death. Make sure that we do not see dishonor and disgrace in them, but honor and joy, so that Your Kingdom is multiplied by them and the number of believers increases, and may they be in heaven around Your meal, like heavenly olive branches, and with all the chosen ones they will reward You honor, praise and glorification through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, be Thy mercy on my children (names), keep them under Your shelter, cover from every crafty lust, drive away from them every enemy and adversary, open their ears and eyes of the heart, grant tenderness and humility to their hearts. Lord, we are all Your creation, have pity on my children (names) and turn them to repentance. Save, Lord, and have mercy on my children (names) and enlighten their minds with the light of the mind of Thy Gospel and guide them on the path of Thy commandments and teach them, Savior, to do Thy will, for Thou art our God.

Those who have Christian names are commemorated of health, and only those baptized in the Orthodox Church are commemorated of repose.

Indestructible Psalter

The indestructible Psalter is read not only about health, but also about repose. From ancient times, the ordering of a commemoration on the Unsleeping Psalter is considered a great almsgiving for the departed soul.

It is also good to order the Indestructible Psalter for yourself, support will be vividly felt. And one more important point, but far from the least important,

There is an eternal commemoration on the Indestructible Psalter. It seems expensive, but the result is more than a million times more than the money spent. If this is still not possible, then you can order for a shorter period. It's also good to read for yourself.

PRAYERS IN TEACHING CHILDREN

Lord God and our Creator, in His image we, the people, who adorned, Thy chosen ones, taught Thy law, so that those who listen to him marvel, revealed the secrets of wisdom to children, gave Solomon and all who seek it - open the hearts, minds and mouths of Thy servants (names) in order to comprehend the power of Your law and successfully learn the useful doctrine taught by it, for the glory of Your Most Holy Name, for the benefit and organization of Your Holy Church and the understanding of Your good and perfect will. Amen.

(To the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian)

Oh, great apostle, loud-voiced evangelist, the most elegant theologian, occult expert of incomprehensible revelations, virgin and beloved confidante of Christ John, receive us sinners (names) who come running under your strong intercession and patronage with your usual mercy! Ask the All-Generous Lover of Christ and our God, even before your eyes you poured out Your most precious blood for us, His indecent servants, may He not remember our iniquities, but may He have mercy on us, and may He do with us by His mercy; may he grant us health of soul and body, all prosperity and abundance, teaching us to turn all of it into the glory of Him, the Creator, Savior and our God. At the end of our temporary life, may we, holy apostle, escape the merciless tortures that await us in the air trials, but may we reach, under your guidance and patronage, the Mountainous Jerusalem, whose glory in revelation you have seen, and now you enjoy these joys promised to the elect God's. Oh, great John, save all the cities and countries of Christianity, all this, this temple, dedicated to your holy name, serving and praying in it, from famine, destruction, cowardly and flood, fire, sword, invasion of foreigners and internecine warfare, deliver from all troubles and misfortunes, and with your prayers, turn away the righteous wrath of God from us, and ask us for His mercy; Oh, great and incomprehensible God, Alfo and Omego, source and object of our faith! Behold, we offer you Saint John, whom you have made worthy to know you, the inscrutable God, in an inexpressible revelation. Accept his intercession for us, grant us the fulfillment of our petitions, to Your glory: and above all, complete us with spiritual perfection, to the enjoyment of an endless life in Your heavenly abodes. Oh, Heavenly Father, who created the whole Lord, the Soul of Spirits, the Almighty King! Touch our hearts with Your finger, and they, melted like wax, will be shed before You, and the mortal spiritual creature will be created, in honor and glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Saint John Chrysostom

Oh, great hierarch John Chrysostom! You have received many and various gifts from the Lord, and like a good and faithful servant, you have multiplied all the talents given to you for good: for this reason, you were truly a universal teacher, as every age and every rank is learned from you. Behold, the image appeared to you as a youth of obedience, to the young - chastity shone, the husband - diligence mentor, the old - teacher of malice, the monk - the rule of abstinence, to those who pray - the leader from God inspired, to those seeking wisdom - the enlightener of the mind, to the well-spoken vortices - the words of the living source are inexhaustible, beneficent - a star of mercy, to those in charge - the rule of a wise image, a zealot of truth - an inspirer of boldness, for the sake of truth for the persecuted - a mentor of patience: all were thou, but save every one. Over all of these, you acquired love, even if there is a union of perfection, and by that, as if by the power of God, all the gifts in your soul were united into one, and there the love divided reconciling, in the interpretation of the words of the apostles, preached to all the faithful. But we are sinners, according to each one our own gift of property, unity of the spirit in the union of the world are not imams, but we are conceited, irritating each other, envious of each other: for this reason, our divided one is not divided into peace and salvation, but into enmity and condemnation to us. The same to you, the saint of God, we fall down, the servants of God (names), we are overwhelmed with contention, and in contrition of heart we ask: with your prayers, take away from our hearts all pride and envy that divides us, but in many places we will unrestrictedly remain one church body, but let us love one another with your prayerful words and with one mind confess the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity of the same essence and inseparable, now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

Reverend Sergius of Radonezh

Great, having boldness to the all-merciful Master, pray to save His servants (names), the grace of His believers that is in you and flows to you with love: ask us from our great-gifted God for every gift, to everyone and to whom it is beneficial, faith is blameless observance, our cities are affirmed, pacification of the world, deliverance from famine and destruction, preservation from the invasion of foreigners, consolation to the grieving, healing to the sick, resurrection to the fallen, return to those who err on the path of truth and salvation, striving fortification, good fortune and blessing in good deeds, upbringing as a baby, guidance to the young, ignorant admonition intercession for orphans and widows, departing from this temporal life to eternal good preparation and parting words, departed blessed repose, and all of us who help your prayers, on the day of the terrible judgment, vouchsafe a part of the shui to be delivered, while the right of the country, the fellows of being and the blessed voice of the Lord Christ, hear: come, bless my Father, inherit your kingdom from the foundation of the world.

I entrust them to Your Motherly care, as You are the Divine protection of Your servants.

We thank Thee, the Creator, as if Thou hast vouchsafed us Thy grace, in a hedgehog heed to teaching. Bless our bosses, parents and teachers who lead us to the knowledge of the good, give us strength and strength to continue this teaching.

Prayer for Children Who Have Difficulty Teaching

Lord Jesus Christ, our God, truly dwelling in the hearts of the twelve apostles and by the power of the grace of the All-Holy Spirit, descending in the form of tongues of fire, opened their mouths so that they began to speak in other dialects - Himself, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, send it down Your Holy Spirit on this lad (this maiden) (name), and plant in his (her) heart the Holy Scripture, which Your most pure hand inscribed on the tablets of the legislator Moses, now and ever and forever and ever. Amen.

Ask us all that is good for this temporary life, and even more necessary for our eternal salvation: help us with your intercession, servant of God, may the holy Orthodox Church of Christ abide in peace, and the Fatherland is founded in prosperity, indestructible in all piety: be us all, miracle-working saint, in every sorrow and circumstance a quick helper: most of all, at the hour of our death, a merciful intercessor appears to us, let us not betray the evil world-keeper at the ordeals of the air power, but let us be honored with an unshakable ascent into the Kingdom of Heaven. Hey, Father, our prayer book is dear! Do not disgrace our hopes, but always about us, the servants of God (names), intercede before the throne of the Life-Giving Trinity, let us be honored together with you and with all the saints, if not worthy of Esma, in the villages of paradise glorify the greatness, grace and mercy of the one God in the Trinity , the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.

The holy feast is the fortieth day of the Ascension of the Lord. We celebrate Easter on the eve and we will celebrate the great annual holiday on the fortieth day after Easter - the Ascension of the Lord. Sorokoousty - forty days of fasting, forty days of Easter, everything goes by forty, weeks and forty. And the history of mankind also goes by weeks and forties. In this amazing book, the child will find wise spiritual advice and guidance for many occasions and will find wonderful examples of repentance. The psalms filled with spiritual power will keep him under the roof of the Almighty, when, in an hour of danger, he turns to the guardian angel guarding him with the prayers of the psalms. This book will give food to the mind: it will tell the child in a concise poetic form about the creation of the world, about the history of peoples and tribes.

The entire Psalter consists of 150 psalms grouped into 20 chapters (kathisma). This disc contains seven psalms most frequently used in Orthodox worship. Each psalm is preceded by a commentary explaining the meaning and significance of this psalm. Then the text of the psalm itself follows, first in Church Slavonic, and then in Russian, translated by P.
