Acceptance of applications for free education began in October in the territorial centers of social services for the population (TTSSO).

“More than two and a half million elderly people- this is about a quarter of the adult population of the city. Our goal is to extend their creative and professional longevity by organizing cultural and educational leisure. "Silver University" will give an opportunity to pensioners to study what was not possible to master earlier due to lack of time... Indeed, in their young and mature years, they mainly devoted themselves to work and caring for the family, ”

- Vladimir Petrosyan, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the City Population, told the portal.

Program training developed jointly with the Moscow City Pedagogical University. When creating it, specialists based on surveys conducted in the TTSSO among the elderly. Such monitoring helped to determine the sphere of interests of the capital's pensioners.

Classes will be held both directly at the centers of social services at the place of residence, and at the sites of the Moscow City Pedagogical University. They are located in eight metropolitan districts - West, South-West, Central, East, North-East, North, North-West and Zelenogradsky. Each group will have 15-20 people. It is expected that by the end of the year 2,600 retirees will study at the university.

Older students will be able to enroll in one of five faculties: humanitarian, mass communications and informatics, culture and creativity, health and safety or psychological support of the individual. At the Faculty of Humanities, elderly people will learn the basics of spoken English and German, the history and culture of Moscow, as well as get acquainted with the peculiarities of volunteer work. The same faculty will train such a profession as a green farm worker.

During classes at the Faculty of Mass Communications and Informatics pensioners will be explained how the modern information space works, teach them how to use gadgets and tell them about the basics of journalism. The Faculty of Culture and Creativity will host practical lessons for dancing and needlework. Here you can also learn the profession of a dollmaker.

Health students and safety will take courses "Fundamentals of financial and legal literacy", "Wellness swimming" and "Food instead of medicine". And at the Faculty of Psychology, older people will learn how to prevent and resolve conflicts, as well as overcome psychological barriers in communication. Here, retirees will be able to get the profession of a nanny.

The duration of general education programs will be from 24 to 36 hours... Up to 160 hours are allocated for training in working specialties. Lessons will be held at least twice a week for two academic hours. In addition to theoretical and practical classes, students will be able to attend trainings and master classes by specialists in specific fields. In addition, the university will host festivals, creative evenings and evenings of relaxation.

Any pensioner of the capital can become a participant in the project, for this it is necessary apply to the social service center at the place of residence.

After the formation of groups for training programs, an employee of the social service center notifies the project participant about his enrollment in the selected faculty. At the end of the training a certificate is issued on the passage of a general developmental or professional program.

At the end of the training, graduates will be issued certificates of completion of the educational course. These are not state diplomas, but these documents confirm the acquired knowledge and skills.

Due to the fact that the number of places in groups is limited, candidates for training are included in the list awaiting subsequent recruitment, the department added, noting that the implementation of the educational project for the elderly will continue in 2018.

"Silver University" - part of the city project "Active Longevity"... Its main task- to create conditions for the creative and professional development of older people, to improve their quality of life.

Probably not a single graduate of this pedagogical institution in its entire history has seen off with such warmth. Tea with pies, karaoke, funny contests and gifts. Long before the commencement of the solemn event, the hall was already full. “We know that our“ silver ”students are very responsible, they always come an hour and a half before the start of the event, so we came up with leisure activities for them so that they would not be bored while waiting,” the organizers of the prom explained.

Increase to pension

208 graduates of the Silver University, who studied the professions of a nanny, a greenhouse worker and a manufacturer of play dolls, received certificates of working specialties. These are the longest training programs, lasting six months. Earlier, students of general education courses, for example, on the study of the English language, history and culture of Moscow, computer literacy, graduated from their studies. There are 3020 Muscovites in total. Someone came to study just so as not to sit at home and find an exciting hobby, others - to replenish their knowledge. But there were also those who purposefully received a profession in order to have additional income in retirement.

“Life becomes more active after retirement. It is important to keep up with the times. And it's great that you don't want to sit idly at home. We will assist you so that you can find yourself in the labor market, ”promised the graduates Pavel Keller, Deputy Head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Moscow.

It was possible to look at the future place of work right there, at the job fair organized at the Moscow State Pedagogical University for graduates. The newly minted nannies were most actively interested in the work. The demand for them is also high. There are now more than 200 official vacancies for nannies and nurses in Moscow alone. And the salaries promised to them look more than attractive - from 35-40 to 60 thousand rubles. “There are vacancies for graduates of the Silver University in our database, and they are constantly updated, employment is carried out through official contracts,” explains Olga Sanakina, leading inspector of the employment center of Moscow.

“Before going to school, I sat with the baby,” says Irina, a librarian by profession. - After the courses I returned to work as a nanny and feel calmer and more confident. Teachers structure our diverse life experiences so that they can be applied more effectively. ”

Activities for the soul

The need for green workers in the capital is also great. Salaries from 12-22 to 25 thousand rubles. True, most of the graduates of this course are not going to work in a new specialty. “People studied mainly for themselves, there are a lot of summer residents among us,” the pensioner shares with me and shows me a certificate of conferring a profession. Kirill Fortov, a psychologist by training. - I learned about the courses from the Internet. I called the local welfare center and they told me the groups had already been recruited. Then I called the rector of the university, and he took me. Now I have an idea about green farming ”.

“I have always been interested in how to care for plants,” continues fellow student Kirill Elena Nikolaeva, formerly a programmer. - Now I want to reorganize flower gardens on my site. Everyone went to classes very enthusiastically. We planted seedlings of peppers on January 25, now they grow in my greenhouse. " So theory is not complete without practice. Students even went through a master class with a well-known TV presenter of programs for gardeners Oktyabrina Ganichkina.

The most fun and friendly student company was the puppeteers. They show me their work. Real works of art! Dolls are made of hot plastic, frame, cloth, in national costumes or in evening dresses, even in the form of amulets. Painstaking work. One doll takes 1.5-2 months. Graduates of this program can work at the request of children's studios and circles, as well as museums. But they didn’t come here for that. Making dolls is both an occupation for the soul and a cure for mental wounds. Tatiana Shenaeva at 41, she lost her daughter and grandson. At 45, she gave birth to a daughter again. The years passed unnoticed, in worries, leaving no time for themselves. At first she raised a child, then she experienced grief, and again the troubles of late motherhood. And the daughter, who has not yet fully grown out of dolls herself, supports her mother's hobby. “Only in retirement we learned that a hobby can bring such pleasure,” Tatyana's classmates told me with burning eyes. - We have formed a club of interests here. Found new friends, now we meet regularly. Life blossomed with new colors ”.

Youth for ... 60

According to the teachers, working with an audience of 60 plus is a pleasure. These students do not skip classes, and with their energy, exactingness and activity in mastering the sciences, they can sometimes give a head start to young students. It is said that the office where the dolls were made was on the 5th floor, in an old building without an elevator. It is 108 steps. At the end of the course, when the retirees came to take the exam, they just flew up.

“Judging by how cleverly you jumped onto the stage today to take a picture, by the energy that reigns in the hall, by the young, optimistic eyes, you are not much different from the students you once were. You are set for an active future life ", - confirmed Director of the Moscow Employment Center Georgy Timofeev.

“And in modern life, you need to be able to do a lot, to be ready for everything, because there is so much more to come,” he said to the graduates Rector of Moscow State Pedagogical University Igor Remorenko... - You have entered a program that, in addition to communication, makes it possible to declare that you have a serious professional skill. At the Silver University, classes continue. There are other general developmental programs. And we will be glad to see you in the fall ”.

You can sign up for studies at the Silver University right now. You can only choose one study program per year (see infographic). But on the other hand, you can always study, not only in silver, but also in golden age.
