T 5000 high-precision sniper rifle performance characteristics. Orsis t-5000. Creation of a basic enterprise

Traumatic revolvers are far from the most common weapon, and those models that are present on the self-defense market, for the most part, cannot compete in their effectiveness with modern traumatic pistols. The reason for this can be considered the very design of most revolvers, which allows for the breakthrough of powder gases between the barrel and the chamber of the drum, and the low popularity of this class of weapon among people. However, some models of revolvers cannot but please.

Thus, the most famous of the truly effective models of traumatic revolvers can be called a revolver produced by the company. But this is far from the only traumatic revolver that is worth paying attention to. In this article, we will try to get acquainted with the whole family of domestically produced revolvers, among which you can choose exactly the weapon that suits the specific requirements of an adherent of active self-defense.

Traumatic revolvers "Groza" with a barrel length of 4 inches

It’s probably worth starting with why exactly a person might choose a revolver as a . On the one hand, even the most compact revolver is heavier and thicker than a pistol of similar length. We also do not forget about the small capacity of the drum compared to pistol magazines. In addition, the revolver has a heavier trigger pull without pre-cocking the hammer, which negatively affects shooting accuracy.

If the revolver has a single-action trigger mechanism, then in order to fire a shot you have to cock the hammer manually each time. Models with a hidden trigger do not have the ability to pre-cock the hammer, since it is hidden, although the accuracy of fire at self-defense distances is not such an important thing. In addition, we also do not write off the breakthrough of powder gases between the barrel and the drum chamber during a shot. In general, whatever one may say, revolvers are inferior to pistols in all respects. For everything except reliability.

Modern pistols are reloaded by a shot, namely by powder gases, whether they press on the bottom of the cartridge case or push the piston. In order for a new cartridge in a revolver to take place opposite the barrel of the weapon, it is enough to simply cock the hammer or press the trigger, and since this occurs due to human muscular strength, the result is guaranteed in almost any conditions. An example that a revolver is more reliable than a pistol is a simple misfire. In order to eliminate such a delay when firing, the pistol casing must be manually pulled back. With a revolver, everything is much simpler - just pull the trigger again. The same situation occurs with stuck cartridges in the ejection window and other ammunition-related delays during shooting.

In other words, given the low quality of domestic traumatic ammunition, revolvers are clearly a popular type of weapon. Despite this, many people prefer small dimensions, light weight and a larger number of cartridges when choosing pistols, and not a large number of people buy revolvers. Although, for the most part, revolvers are chosen not because of reliability, but because a revolver is, first and foremost, a revolver. But let’s not rant on this topic for a long time, but let’s move on directly to getting acquainted with weapons.

Traumatic revolvers "Groza" with a barrel length of 6 inches

The traumatic revolvers of the “Groza” family have the same “parent” as the pistols of the same name and can boast the same variety of different models, although this variety is quite arbitrary. All the lineup consists of 8 weapon options, which can be divided into two groups - revolvers made of steel and revolvers made of TsAM alloy. Naturally, those weapon options that are made of more durable material are popular, despite the fact that they are heavier.

Each group of revolvers consists of four models, which differ only in barrel length. So weapons can have barrels 2, 3, 4 and 6 inches long. The title reflects all this as follows. Weapon name starts with capital letter P, followed by a number that indicates the length of the barrel, after it there may be another letter indicating the material from which the weapon is made. Thus, the designation revolver R-03C indicates that the weapon has a barrel 3 inches long and is made of steel. The designation P-06 indicates that the revolver has a 6-inch barrel and is made of TsAM alloy.

As is clear from everything written above, all eight revolvers have the same base; they differ only in the frame material and barrel length. Naturally, steel models are more popular, although light alloy weapons are also quite durable. By the way, the difference in weight between the steel and lightweight versions of revolvers with the same barrel length is not that big.

The revolver itself is built around a double-action trigger mechanism; the weapon's drum holds 6 traumatic 9 mm PA cartridges. The frame of the weapon is solid, not fractured, for reloading the drum is pushed into left side, there is a latch on the left side to secure it. In order to ensure reliable fixation of ammunition in the chambers of the drum during firing, as well as to increase the reloading speed, cartridges are inserted into special plates - moonclips, which combine all 6 ammunition into one design.

It is clear that such a solution will still not allow you to achieve the speed of reloading a pistol, but the fact that the use of moon clips significantly speeds up the process of removing spent cartridges from the chambers of the drum, as well as inserting new cartridges into the drum, of course. The appearance of revolvers, even with the shortest barrels, is such that it’s hard to call them compact weapons. The rather large handle of the revolver plays a big role in this. The handle has removable wooden pads, so if you really want, anyone can fit the weapon to your hand by purchasing more comfortable pads separately or even making them yourself.

As with any other traumatic weapon, the main issue when choosing is the barrel, because it is through it that the ammunition will pass during the shot, and it is its strength and design that ensures longevity and the possibility of using effective ammunition. The barrels of revolvers can be different, just like those of “Groza” pistols, depending on the time of release, however, all barrel designs perfectly withstand the use of the most “evil” traumatic ammunition at the moment, including in the case of , when the weapon frame is made of TsAM alloy.

Much more interesting is that these revolvers are also adapted for firing the weakest ammunition with manufacturer designations “Training” and “Sports” with a bullet kinetic energy of 30-35 Joules. This is noteworthy for the reason that in many other models of revolvers, bullets simply get stuck in the barrel when fired, and in some models you can even observe how the bullet stops between the drum and the barrel of the weapon. However, the ability to use weak ammunition in a traumatic revolver is not as popular as in pistols, since here the resource of the weapon depends less on what ammunition is used and the only variable here is the barrel of the weapon.

Traumatic revolvers "Groza" with a barrel length of 2 and 3 inches

Thus, the revolvers of the “Groza” family are the same and diverse at the same time. They can easily use a wide variety of ammunition, including gas and blanks, and they can be loaded at the same time. The only disadvantage of revolvers is their size and weight, since you will have to carry a self-defense weapon with you regularly, otherwise there is no point in it.

In terms of price, these revolvers do not exceed reasonable limits, but they cannot be called cheap either. Still, whatever one may say, traumatic weapons have a price that is not comparable to a reasonable one, although this stops few people. We can recommend such a weapon as a means of self-defense to people with large enough palms and a large body to be able to conceal the weapon; in small female hands the weapon will look just as menacing, but carrying it may cause problems even with a version of a revolver with a barrel length 2 inches.

By the way, when choosing from four options for barrel length, do not forget that a longer barrel means not only increased dimensions of the revolver, but also a greater speed of the bullet-ball at the muzzle, and therefore greater kinetic energy of the bullet.

Thunderstorm over Russia

Lelik iz Toliatti

I apologize for some pretentiousness of the letter, but sometimes working as a writer, so to speak, costs:
So, on May 10 at 10 o'clock and 10 minutes I became the owner of a device called GRAZA R-04 (TSAM, not steel). I was puzzled by the choice of weapons for more than 1.5 years. Those. since the winter of 2010, when I first thought about buying a traumatic weapon, it was from that time that I became a hansa. But I actually started getting a license in March 2011, and that’s when the issue became very pressing.
IZHSMEKHA immediately rejected rubber gun products due to negative reviews about the barrels of these products. I was leaning towards OS-shaped ones, but my soul wanted DIFFERENT!!!
Initially, I decided to take only two guns (in connection with the new ZOO): Esaul (for babakhing) and Strazhnik (for the database). I changed my mind! And rightly so!
A friend recommended the streamer. That's when the agony of choice began. The streamer is what I wanted: compact, powerful. I watched all the programs (HUGE thanks to Gleb Obukhovsky for a series of these educational programs that talk about traumatic weapons in a very accessible way and, most importantly, convey to people the information that traumatic weapons are not a toy!)
So the agony of choosing a Revolver Thunderstorm or a streamer.
Streamer PROS:
1. One of the most powerful 9PA pistols
2. With a little modification it is almost omnivorous
3. Compact and quite suitable for concealed carry
Streamer CONS:
1. THIS POINT IS MY PERSONAL OPINION, DO NOT THROW SLIPPERS! Its fate after July 1 is unclear (magazine of more than 10 rounds, import, possible problems from the outside and the transition to the rank of gas as a result there may be problems with the purchase of traumatic cartridges)???
2.Limited firing to 3000 rounds, debatable, but I would like to not count the shots. Although I didn’t intend to go to war!
3. The need to have two clips (one for the DB, the other) is, in principle, a disadvantage of all pistols.

REVOLVER GRAZA 03 or 04 PROS:
1) Trouble-free, reliable
2) Omnivore (chambered from 35 to 100 J)
3) Based on the shooting results, it is comparable to a streamer.
REVOLVER GRAZA 03 or 04 CONS:
1. Impossibility of concealed carrying. Still, they are healthy, either 3 or 4. I haven’t considered the R-02, I don’t want to be like Maigret, I’d rather be Chuck Norris!
2. Still, 6 rounds is not much! There are more in pistols (except for subcompacts).

Trunks ORSIS obtained by trellis planing on CNC machines - today this is the most accurate method of producing barrels, in which the tolerances for the depth of the rifling are less than 0.0025 mm, for the pitch of the rifling - 0.004 mm per 1 meter.

The barrel is made from a special barrel of stainless steel

Picatinny rail for mounting all types of sighting devices

The body of the bolt group is made of stainless maraging steel, and the central hole is produced on a CNC electrocuting machine. Many elements are processed in a final hardened state to ensure maximum geometric accuracy of the trigger mechanism.

Double-lug bolt group with a longitudinally sliding rotary bolt

Tactical four-chamber DTK slot type

The buttstock is equipped with an adjustable cheek piece and butt pad

All steel parts are made only from stainless steel. Particular care in manufacturing and the selection of high-quality materials allows us to speak of an increased service life relative to traditional estimates for these calibers. Operational control has been introduced in production, and all parts after each processing cycle are subject to instrumental control, the final assembly is very carefully controlled and fire tests are carried out, inspection appearance, the functioning of the mechanisms is checked repeatedly and carefully.

The balance and weight of the rifle are designed in such a way that when fired, the recoil goes strictly back, this allows you to control the target even during the firing process. An effective muzzle brake reduces recoil by almost 50%, and an adjustable trigger allows you to fire a shot without disturbing your aim. High rigidity and stability of the stock maintain “zero” zeroing even after a long time.

Which can replace the now so popular foreign-made models in domestic special forces.

There is no need to talk about the considerable importance snipers have in current armed conflicts, during special and counter-terrorism operations. In this regard, in modern conditions requirements for sniper weapons have been tightened in the area of such characteristics as aimed shooting range, accuracy, penetrating and lethal action of a bullet, the possibility of use in different conditions day and night, maneuverability.

Sniper rifle ORSIS SE T-5000 .338 Grafit Black

It is also well known that in domestic system weapons, the “niche” of a high-precision sniper rifle is still poorly filled (we are talking not only about the rifle itself, but also about the “cartridge-weapon-sight” complex, each element of which makes a significant contribution to the characteristics of the weapon). The 7.62 mm - an excellent military weapon - is no longer very suitable for solving a number of sniper tasks in terms of its accuracy and accuracy, especially at ranges of more than 800 m. This required supplementing the SVD with a rifle with significantly improved shooting accuracy and a higher magnification scope.

Snipers of special forces units of the Russian law enforcement agencies are now actively using foreign ones (British AW Ecuracy International, Finnish TRG-21 and TRG-22 Sako, German AMP, etc.). Therefore, it is not surprising that any new domestically produced sniper rifle arouses the keenest interest - no matter what class the professional is, he needs a specialized professional tool to succeed.

In May 2011, Promtekhnologii Group of Companies began production of its own sniper rifles under the T-5000 ORSIS brand (the Latinized abbreviation for “weapon systems”) in Moscow. The rifles were presented to the general public in September 2011 at an arms exhibition in Nizhny Tagil. The rifles are called "tactical". Apparently, this is not only a tribute to “foreign” fashion (the name “tactical rifle” has indeed become quite common abroad), but also an indication that the model can be effectively used in a wide variety of tactical situations.

The T-5000 rifle was initially presented in two calibers, widely used in specialized sniper weapons - chambered for the .308 Winchester (.308 Win, 7.62×51) and .338 Lapua Magnum (.338 Lapua Magnum, 8.58×69). Soon a variant chambered for the .300 Winchester Magnum cartridge (.300 Win Magnum, 7.62×67) was added.

To test the combat qualities of the T-5000 rifle, it was transferred to special forces of Russian law enforcement agencies - the FSB, the Federal Security Service, etc. - and further refinement of the weapon was carried out taking into account the comments of professional users. The ideologist and chief designer of the rifle was CEO GC "Promtekhnologii" A.M. Sorokin, who worked out the design of the rifle and made the main sketches of the sample. It is worth noting that a significant contribution to the creation and development of the T-5000 was made by D.Yu. Semizorov is a veteran of the special purpose unit “Vympel” (since November 2012 - General Director of FSUE TsNIITOCHMASH).

By the way, at the exhibition “Technologies in Mechanical Engineering” in June 2012, the improved ORSIS T-5000 rifles chambered for .308 Winchester and .338 Lapua Magnum cartridges were exhibited at the TSINIITOCHMASH stand. Very effective advertising The new weapon was the victory in June 2012 of the team of Directorate “A” of the FSB Special Purpose Center at the World Sniper Shooting Championships held in Hungary - the Alfa team performed at them with the T-5000. However, the domestic media wrote quite a lot about this.

Now about the rifles themselves.

Like many high-precision sniper rifles, the T-5000 was created on the basis of a sports model. The typical choice for a sniper rifle is a high-precision magazine design and well-proven foreign cartridges. The latter, again, can be explained not only by the calculation for the “commercial” market (and the Promtekhnologii Group of Companies is a rare example for the domestic industry of a thoroughly established “private” weapons production), but also by the deplorable situation with domestic sniper ammunition.

The barrel of the T-5000 rifle, made of special stainless steel, is mounted cantilever in the receiver; a slotted muzzle brake-compensator is installed on the muzzle of the barrel, absorbing up to 50% of the recoil energy. Depending on the caliber of the cartridge, four or six right-handed rectangular riflings are made in the barrel bore. Longitudinal lobes on outer surface the barrel allows you to provide the required rigidity while simultaneously lightening it.

The combat cylinder of the longitudinally sliding rotary bolt is made according to a design that is a “compromise” between the bolts of the Remington Model 700 and Mauser schemes - with two lugs, a cup for the case head, an ejector and a spring-loaded reflector mounted directly in the bolt, pushing the case out of the barrel window boxes after being removed from the chamber. This scheme allows reloading with the least noise; the absence of a cutout in the combat cylinder for the passage of the reflector makes locking the barrel more reliable and safe.

When locked, the bolt lugs fit into the grooves of the receiver. When the bolt is closed, the case head is surrounded by concentric rings - the bolt cup and the receiver.

The shutter is made relatively large, which ensures its strength and strengthens the locking unit. The bolt stem has holes for releasing powder gases if they break through the chamber or sleeve. According to the cartridge, a “short” or “long” bolt group is used. The receiver and bolt are made of stainless steel.

The trigger mechanism is made with the placement of the firing pin and the screw mainspring in the bolt cavity. The tail of the firing pin protruding from behind the bolt allows you to determine the condition of the firing mechanism visually or by touch. The firing pin is cocked when the bolt is unlocked (opened).

Release - with warning, release force can be adjusted within 0.5-0.9 kgf. A fairly smooth descent contributes to shooting accuracy. A three-position fuse with a flag rotating in the rear of the bolt is mounted horizontal plane: in the “safety” position (rear flag position) the firing pin and bolt are blocked, in the disassembly position (middle) the firing pin is blocked, the bolt is free, can be easily pulled back during disassembly (to do this, press the bolt latch on the left side of the receiver), the forward position of the flag corresponds to the “fire” state (a bright orange dot opens).

When the bolt is closed, its large handle is above the trigger guard, and the head of the safety flag is accessible to thumb shooting hand.

The cartridges are fed from a direct detachable metal magazine. The receiver's neck, which is part of the stock, helps secure the magazine firmly.

The layout and balance of the rifle ensures a reduction in the “knockover” effect of recoil. The composite stock is made of light aluminum alloy D16T; for ease of transportation and disassembly, the T-5000 is equipped with a butt folding to the left. The butt joint is made of steel for greater strength, reliability and elimination of backlash; connections are made “steel to steel”.

The buttstock is equipped with a butt pad made of wear-resistant rubber and adjustable in height, as well as a height-adjustable cheek rest for the shooter. The length of the stock is determined by the spacer under the butt plate and is not otherwise adjustable. The receiver rests on the stock through a kind of layer impregnated with epoxy resin, providing not only a better fit, but also a more even distribution of loads.

During the finalization, the stock received a number of changes and additions. The most striking thing is the appearance of a plastic handguard. Before that, the stock was designed, first of all, for shooting from a rest with the left hand holding the butt (for a right-handed shooter) - which, in fact, is what the shape of the butt was designed for. According to user comments, the rifle had to be adapted for shooting from a standing, sitting, or kneeling position, so a plastic fore-end pad was required. Subsequently, the overlay was further lengthened.

The shape of the plastic pistol grip has also been improved - in particular, it has received an upper bend in the rear part. Thus, the shooter’s hands practically do not touch metal parts, which is especially convenient in cold or, conversely, very hot weather.

The buttstock in the folded position was initially fixed with a magnetic lock, but practical tests of the rifle showed the unreliability of this solution, and a mechanical latch was introduced into the design. The screw that regulates the position of the “cheek” of the butt now turns “in steps”; the shooter can change its position “by clicks” and easily remember the comfortable position once found. That is, the ergonomics of the weapon were improved, first of all.

A Picattini-type rail mounted on the receiver allows you to install Various types sights. The manufacturer himself recommends using rifles with pancratic optical sights - American “Night Force” or domestic, relatively new, but well-proven “Daedalus”. An additional Picattini rail can be attached to the front of the stock for installing a pre-objective night attachment to the sight.

In front of the forend there is a mount for a bipod and a rifle sling. As standard, the rifle is equipped with a folding, height-adjustable bipod of the Harris Bipod type - another element widely used in sniper weapons in different countries.

The design of the rifle implements a number of generally well-known and proven solutions, but they are carefully selected, tested and applied as a whole.

Modern requirements for a high-precision sniper rifle require a deflection of hits of no more than one arc minute in the absence of wind influence. The accuracy of fire of the T-5000 is characterized by the following data - the dispersion of hits falls within 0.5 minutes of arc (MOA) when using high-quality ammunition. Here the manufacturer is also quite strict, recommending rifle cartridges from trusted manufacturers such as the German RWS and the Finnish Lapua.

It is clear what a significant contribution the technology of its production makes to the ballistic qualities of a weapon. ORSIS weapons are produced at the Moscow plant of the Promtekhnologii Group of Companies, which widely uses modern machines with numerical control. To produce rifling for sniper rifle barrels, the factory uses single-pass cutting, or more precisely, trellis planing. This technology is not as productive as mandrel drilling and is quite expensive, but nevertheless provides a higher quality bore. It is no coincidence that it is still widely used for the manufacture of precision rifle barrels.

In one pass through the bore, the trellis processes one rifling, and removes metal to a depth of about 1 micron, so that at least 80 passes are required to make one rifling. A CNC machine allows you to change the number, shape and angle of the rifling in a fairly wide range.

The machine for making rifling is a source of pride for Promtekhnologiya specialists. To demonstrate the absence of vibrations and smooth operation, an old technique is used here - a coin is placed on the edge of the support of a working machine. The tolerance for the depth of the rifling is 2-2.5 microns (0.002-0.0025 mm), when deploying the chamber - about 2 microns. Instrumental control of the barrel in the laboratory - in terms of length, caliber, cleanliness of processing, rifling pitch, ratio of the width of the fields and rifling, etc. - carried out using optical and digital equipment, with digital video recording equipment.

Electrical discharge machining is used in the manufacture of the receiver and bolt. Note that initially a version of the shutter was presented with screw grooves (grooves) milled on the stem, designed to retain small particles or moisture, but with further development such grooves were abandoned. The “cheek” and pistol grip are milled from high-strength plastic.

In general, production is not at all a “transfer to Russian soil” of the finished technology of some foreign enterprise, but was created anew with the selection of appropriate equipment - mainly foreign-made.

The outer metal surfaces of the rifle have a non-reflective ceramic coating of the Cerakote type (Cerakote, a solution developed by the American company NIC-Industries), which, in particular, ensures high wear resistance of parts. The colors used are known as graphite black, sniper gray, sand yellow, and olive.

In general, the “cartridge-weapon-sight” complex turns out to be quite expensive, but, on the other hand, a sniper rifle is a professional tool, a certain rise in price is inevitable, which can be seen in the example of both foreign and domestic sniper complexes.

The T-5000 sniper rifle is offered in various configurations, in particular, it can be equipped with various options belt The “tactical weapon belt” “Dolg-MZ” looks very original, which can be attached to the T-5000 using a two-point, three-point (“tactical”, with the shooter moving the weapon along the belt to different positions) and biathlon pattern (behind the back like a backpack) .

Introduction

Let's start with the fact that the ORSIS T-5000 is not exactly a SNIPER. In the sense that no one accepted it for service and any citizen can buy it with the appropriate documents.
An unprecedented excitement arose around the ORSIS T-5000 sniper rifle; the queue for purchase stretched out for several months. The Internet is full of rumors about its unprecedented accuracy. Let's figure out how things really are.
I myself for a long time was very proud of the manufacturers of ORSIS T-5000. And then this rifle appeared among many owners and comparative shooting began. And then it turned out that the Finnish sniper rifle Sako TRG 42 is still more accurate.

The German HK MR rifle in its sniper version is just as accurate. But she is SELF-LOADING.

Why is the ORSIS T-5000 sniper rifle so popular and famous? That’s why she has the right PR company and marketing.

MANUFACTURING TRUNKS

The more precise the barrel geometry, the more accurate the rifle it is mounted on will shoot. Behind the apparent simplicity of this thesis lies centuries-old experience in the development of weapons production, colossal engineering and intellectual work, and outstanding skills in handling complex equipment and tools. The barrel is the most difficult component of a precision rifled weapon to manufacture; a large amount of special equipment is used in its production.

Only high-quality barrel steels are used as raw materials for the manufacture of barrels for ORSIS rifles: 416R stainless steel, 4140 chrome-molybdenum steel.

High-tech equipment and advanced technologies make it possible to produce at the plant’s production facilities barrels with calibers from 5.6 mm to 20 mm with a barrel length of up to 1050 mm and any pitch of rifling (including progressive¹), number of rifling (including odd), ratio of field width to rifling , rifling profile (note¹: progressive - variable rifling pitch, from larger to smaller: from 280 to 254)

All ORSIS barrel manufacturing processes, including deep drilling, bore reaming, and profiling, take place at the plant site. The key stage in the production of high-precision barrels is the production of rifling (profiling), which is carried out at the PROMTEKHNOLOGIYA LLC plant in two ways: mandreling and single-pass cutting with a cutter. The barrels for all the highest precision rifles known in the world were made using one of these technologies.

COMMENTS The honest truth is nothing to add.

PROFILING - SINGLE PASS CUTTING

Single-pass cutting with a cutter (trellis planing) is the most advanced of all currently existing methods for making trunks. Single-pass cutting is often called “champion technology” because Most modern world records in shooting sports were set when shooting from rifles with barrels made in this particular way. A special cutter, called a trellis, processes one cut for each pass through the channel. In total, 80-100 passes of the trellis are required to obtain the finished cut. Single-pass cutting machines were designed in the company's own design office with the assistance of consultants and component suppliers from Europe. Taking classic English machines for single-pass cutting as a basis, redesigning them and developing an original computerized control system, the specialists of PROMTECHNOLOGY LLC were able to create a fundamentally new technology. It allows you to obtain an almost ideal barrel bore geometry: the tolerance for the depth of the rifling is less than 0.0025 mm, and for the pitch of the rifling - 0.004 mm per 1 meter. The surface finish in the fields reaches Rz 0.16 µm, in the grooves – Rz 0.8 µm. Experts recognize barrels made using this technology as a work of engineering art, considering them one of the best in the world.

COMMENTS I have already said that eighty percent of the success of the ORSIS T-5000 sniper rifle is correct marketing. These ten lines fully confirm this. They give the impression of a technological revolution.
In fact, TRELLISHING has been used since the very beginning of the emergence of rifled weapons. This processing method produced excellent barrels, but was VERY SLOW. Therefore, the trunks began to be forged and mandrelized. In the United States of America, ALL sporting rifle barrels are made using this method.
The machines were naturally bought in England. Software and auxiliary devices were naturally tailored to their specific needs. And how beautifully they wrote it - they REDESIGNED it.

MANUFACTURING CHAMBERS

With no less attention, the specialists of PROMTECHNOLOGY LLC approach the manufacture of chambers. For this type of work, both CNC machines and universal lathes with a digital control system are used. Making an accurate chamber is almost an art, so the equipment for solving these problems was also redesigned in the company’s design bureau. The machines had special devices installed on both sides of the spindle, which made it possible to adjust the position of the barrel according to the runout. Thus, before the reamer touches the barrel, special indicators along the internal channel set the runout with an accuracy of no more than 0.0025 mm on both sides of the barrel. This allows you to achieve maximum coaxiality (the location of the axes on the same line) of the chamber and the barrel, which means making shooting accuracy even higher.

In addition, special pilot reamers and floating chucks are used for these operations, special system polishing the chamber and bullet entrance. To connect the barrel to the bolt group, a special full-profile thread with an offset pitch is used, which allows for an exceptionally tight fit, uniform distribution of the load on the thread turns when firing, and also minimizes or even completely eliminates the effect of a cold shot.

Most chambers can be made to C.I.P. standards. or SAAMI with short or long bullet entry, at the buyer's request.

COMMENTS Everything is the same as in the previous case - the guys again RESIGNED everything, again technological revolution.

MANUFACTURING FULLERS AND MUZZLE BRAKES

ORSIS and ORSIS SE barrels can have a matte finish or be polished. In addition, at the request of the customer, fillers can be cut on the trunk. Fullers are not only a design element, but also allow solving a number of functional problems, including lightening the barrel and increasing its cooling rate; a special technique is used in which accuracy is not compromised.

It is also possible to install muzzle brakes-compensators (DTC) on the barrels. The use of a compensator allows, by changing the direction and speed of movement of part of the powder gases, to reduce the recoil impulse and increase comfort when shooting.

COMMENTS The honest truth is that the fullers reduce the weight of the barrel. That's all. They do not significantly affect barrel cooling. The strength of the barrel and shooting accuracy are NEGATIVELY affected - when heated, the barrel with the fullers expands in the shape of a rose. Do we need it? Therefore, target rifles are never made with fullers. Fullers appear only in the light class where there are weight restrictions.

This is how precision is achieved - a barrel as thick as an arm and a sledgehammer.

Technical description of the ORSIS T-5000 sniper rifle

Multi-shot rifle with manual reloading with a longitudinally sliding rotary bolt with two front lugs.

The ORSIS T-5000 rifle was created for universal application- hunting and sports, the task was set to achieve ambitious goals: to ensure exceptional shooting accuracy, high level comfort of the shooter in the process of preparing a shot, in the firing and recoil phase and quick return of the rifle to the aiming line, high reliability and ergonomics, including transport. Each of these tasks is divided into subtasks, and some conflict with each other, but as a result of the joint efforts of shooters and designers, it was possible to create a product with very high consumer properties.
The stock is made of aluminum alloy D16T, the folding unit is made of hardened stainless steel and is specially designed so as not to “break” during operation in the most severe recoil calibers, plastic parts are made from the most high-strength polymers, all connections are only “steel to steel” "For this purpose, steel parts are specially installed in the stock.
The buttstock is equipped with an adjustable cheek piece and butt pad. The butt plate is made of special wear-resistant rubber with height adjustment. The buttstock is securely held in the folded position using a mechanical lock. The stock has lower and side swivels for attaching a tactical belt and bipod.
The balance and weight of the rifle are designed in such a way that when fired, the recoil goes strictly back, this allows you to control the target even during the firing process. An effective muzzle brake reduces recoil by almost fifty percent, and the adjustable trigger allows you to fire without disturbing your aim. High rigidity and stability of the stock maintains “zero” zeroing even after a long time.

The above is a description from the PROMTECHNOLOGY website, as you can see there is not a word about the fact that the rifle was intended for the army.

ORSIS T-5000 sniper rifle chambered for 300 Winchester Magnum

This cartridge appeared in the sixty-third year of the last century. The task was to create a powerful cartridge with a high muzzle velocity to ensure a flat bullet trajectory. They began to solve this problem in the simplest way - they took a cartridge case large enough for this caliber and poured gunpowder into it from the heart. The sleeve turned out to be original. It has a special belt that strengthens the bottom of the cartridge case and helps to uniformly fix the cartridge case in the chamber, which has a positive effect on shooting accuracy.

The length of the cartridge is 85 millimeters. The length of the sleeve is 67 millimeters. The cartridge accelerates a light bullet up to a thousand meters per second. The power is about five thousand joules.
