Inhalers - nebulizers. Well compressor: instructions and reviews. B. Well inhaler: prices What can be sprayed in a nebulizer

At first, it seems that the inhaler and the nebulizer have absolutely no differences. Both devices are used for inhalation of herbs, oils or medicinal substances during a person's illness. In fact, an inhaler is a broader concept that denotes all types of devices for this purpose. A nebulizer, in turn, is a group of inhalers with a more precise effect on the structures of the respiratory system.

What is the difference between a nebulizer and an inhaler?

All devices for performing inhalation can be divided into inhalers and nebulizers.

Inhalers are all devices that provide the process of evaporation of medicinal substances. Such vapors are freely inhaled by patients with the help of the respiratory system, which has a local therapeutic effect. Nebulizers are devices that, with the help of certain mechanisms in their device, actively ensure the splitting of a drug into microparticles of various diameters, which are necessary in each specific case.

The difference between a nebulizer and an inhaler is that an inhaler is any device for inhalation, and a nebulizer is only one device with which you can adjust the required particle size of the drug for the procedure. Outwardly, the devices look identical to each other.

Differences between inhaler and nebulizer:

Inhaler types

There are 4 types of inhalation devices in total:

  • steam;
  • compression;
  • ultrasonic;
  • electronic mesh.

The first group of devices is exclusively inhalers, while the last three can be both inhalers and nebulizers. Any type of device is suitable for both adults and children - thanks to the presence of masks and attachments of different sizes in the set.

Children's devices differ only in appearance. They come in the form of a variety of animals or are decorated with pictures to attract the child to the procedure.

Steam

The action of steam inhalers is based on the principle of vaporization of a medicinal substance in the form of steam. This is achieved by heating the inhalation solution to the boiling point. A special feature is that this figure must be below 100 degrees. This limitation sharply narrows the range of substances that are used for inhalation by these devices. These include: mineral and salt waters, essential oils and oil-based herbal infusions.

Another disadvantage of using a steam inhaler is the inability to carry out procedures at a patient's body temperature above 37.5 degrees, as this can lead to significant overheating of the whole body. Passive evaporation of the drug leads to the formation of large particles that do not reach the lower respiratory tract. This process also leads to a low concentration of the drug in the evaporated air. These factors lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the procedure and the possibility of its use exclusively for mild inflammatory processes of the upper respiratory tract, such as laryngitis, tracheitis, pharyngitis.

The advantages of steam inhalers include low cost and the ability to use oil solutions, which is not permissible in all nebulizers.

Compression

Compressor (or compression) inhalers are the most versatile devices. With their help, all drugs are sprayed, regardless of the structure. The mechanism of operation of these devices consists in the splitting of the medicinal substance with the help of a powerful stream of air passing through the container with the solution. The size of the resulting particles is so small that they reach the most distant bronchioles. This type of nebulizer is indispensable for people suffering from chronic lung diseases.

The disadvantages of the compression device are significant noise and large dimensions. Such an inhaler is suitable only for home use and you will not be able to take it with you on vacation.

Ultrasonic

Nebulizers that achieve drug degradation by vibrating the emitter plate are called ultrasonic nebulizers. The advantages of these devices are that they operate almost silently and take up less space than compressor inhalers. The number and size of the solution particles create a huge, finely dispersed cloud that can spread not only along the mouthpiece, but also significantly beyond the inhaler itself. This makes it possible to go about your business and carry out a treatment procedure in the same room with a working device.

A negative feature of ultrasonic nebulizers is the fact that the effect of this type of radiation has a destructive effect on a number of drugs. With this type of inhaler, you can use bronchodilators and bronchodilators prescribed for patients with chronic lung disease, but not antibiotics.

Electronic mesh

Nebulizers in this category are the most modern. They eliminate the main disadvantages of the previous types of inhalers. With their help, it is possible to spray all medicines in any conditions. This is achieved with the help of mesh technology, which consists in forcing the solution by means of vibration through invisible holes in the membrane built into the inhaler. The particles coming out of the nebulizer are so small that they reach all parts of the lungs. The size of the electronic mesh inhaler is several times smaller than the size of other devices, so you can always carry it with you in your pocket or take it on a trip.

The disadvantage of the device is its high price.

The lineup

The choice of the type of inhaler depends on which structures of the respiratory system are planned to be exposed to. Steam inhalers are better at treating diseases of the upper respiratory tract. They are produced by many companies, but the characteristics of the models are almost the same due to the uniformity of their work. Ultrasonic or compressor nebulizers will be the right choice if vapor particles must reach the bronchi and bronchioles. The technical capabilities of such devices vary significantly depending on the manufacturer. There are four main companies on the medical equipment market that produce compression and ultrasonic inhalers: Omron, LittleDoctor, AND, Beewell.

The Omron company specializes in the production of compressor inhalers. Stands out from their range of Omron CompAir NE-C20 basic. This device differs in its small size in comparison with compressor nebulizers of other companies and the possibility of using it not only at home, but also on a trip. The set includes two masks: for an adult and a child.

Inhaler Omron CompAir NE-C20 basic

The firm "LittleDoctor" produces, in addition to compressor models, ultrasonic and mesh inhalers. For home use, the Little Doctor compressor nebulizer LD-212C is more suitable. Its dimensions are twice that of the Omron model with the same volume of liquid capacity and spray rate. The advantage of this device is the presence of several masks and mouthpieces for more convenient use. The device is produced in solid color and children's design.

Nebulizer Little Doctor LD-212C

The Little Doctor LD-207U nebulizer is a variant of an electronic mesh inhaler, convenient for constant carrying with you. The device is so small that it fits into the pocket of a bag or coat, but the volume of the solution container does not differ from that of the larger models. This device is suitable for use by people with bronchial asthma and other allergic lung diseases in need of an urgent inhalation procedure.

Nebulizer Little Doctor LD-207U

The advantage of B. Well devices is a finer atomization of the drug particles, which ensures the drug is delivered to the most distant parts of the respiratory tract. Each device comes with a large number of filters, several types of masks, mouthpieces and a special hose for spraying. The most common models B. Well PRO-110, B. Well WN-117:

Bee Well WN-117

AND has succeeded in making inhalers specifically for children. The shape of the devices in the form of various animals arouses the child's interest in the procedure, which ensures the necessary regularity of inhalation. An example of a company inhaler is shown in the image below.

Application

The aerosol formed by splitting the drug solution into small particles is inhaled by a person and spreads to the depth necessary for exposure. Depending on the apparatus and structure of the substance, the particle size can be different. Larger ones - from oil-based infusions - penetrate only into the upper parts of the respiratory system. This allows them to be used to treat diseases of the throat, larynx and trachea. The fine dispersion of aerosols ensures that they are carried to the lower respiratory tract. With their help, courses of therapy for chronic and acute diseases of the bronchi and bronchioles are carried out.

Each of the inhalers is always accompanied by instructions for use with a detailed description of the rules of operation and use. The average time for the procedure is 15-30 minutes. Apparatuses designed for spraying medicinal substances inside premises are programmed for a 30-minute operating time.

Some 15 years ago, some people did not even know about such an excellent device as a nebulizer, with which you can cure bronchitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, tracheitis at home. And today every person is aware of what kind of apparatus it is, and a compressor inhaler is considered the most popular among the population. Today we will learn about this device, and specifically consider the B.Well-112 nebulizer model.

General information

All inhalers of this brand are developed by British technologists and are intended for the treatment of infectious and colds of the respiratory tract. Rhinitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, acute respiratory diseases, bronchitis - a nebulizer can handle all of this. All models of devices from this company are used in hospitals, clinics, and also at home. They are easy to use and do not cause any difficulties during operation. The devices themselves are made of high quality materials that fully comply with international requirements and safety standards. One of the most popular devices of this brand of inhalers is the B. Well WN-112 model. Why this particular device won the recognition of people, we will now find out.

Operating principle

B. Well inhaler, reviews of which can be read in this article, functions as follows: through a mouthpiece or mask, the drug is delivered to the patient. In this case, a strong air flow created by the compressor passes through the liquid medication and turns into an aerosol in the nebulizer chamber. Due to the fact that the substance is scattered into miniature particles, the drug penetrates into all parts of the respiratory system.

Model advantages

B. Well WN inhaler model 112 combines all the advantages and even adds its own exceptional points that make it an undeniable choice:

The particle size of the liquid medication is from 2 to 5 microns, which makes it possible to use the nebulizer for the treatment of the middle as well as the lower respiratory tract.

Due to the increased volume of the medication compartment (not 10 ml, as in other models, but 13 ml), you can use the device without refueling.

The device is universal, as it is suitable for both children and adults due to the fact that the set includes children's and adult masks.

What else distinguishes B.Well WN-112 inhaler so favorably from others Of course, this is the unit. In the described model, it is only 55 dB, and in devices from other companies - 65 dB.

The manufacturers of this nebulizer model have made sure that it is convenient for people to use it. Therefore, they equipped the device with a carrying handle as well as compartments for storing parts.

Equipment

B. Well 112 inhaler consists of the following parts:

  1. Spray.
  2. Air hose.
  3. Mouthpiece.
  4. Face masks (1 for an adult and 1 for a child).
  5. Air filters that need to be changed periodically.
  6. Compressor block.

The box with the nebulizer also includes instructions and a mandatory warranty card.

Operating instructions: assembly of the device

Now we will find out in detail how to properly use such a necessary device as B. Well inhaler.

How to use the mask and mouthpiece correctly?

We have already found out how exactly to assemble the B. Well inhaler, now is the time to learn how to use it correctly.

1. How to use the mouthpiece? It is necessary to take it by mouth and breathe evenly during therapy. By the way, it is recommended to use such a nozzle in relation to children from 5 years old, as well as adults.

2. How to use the mask correctly? Wear it in such a way that it covers your nose and mouth. Inhale and exhale through the mask. This nebulizer attachment is recommended for the treatment of the upper respiratory tract.

B. Well inhaler: reviews of people

The opinions of the people who purchased this device are mostly positive. People love that this nebulizer model is versatile: suitable for both adults and children; it is used in the treatment of both the upper and lower respiratory tract. Women who are faced with diseases in their children called bronchitis, and simply respiratory viral diseases, simply do not rejoice that manufacturers have created such a wonderful device that you can buy yourself and perform procedures at home. After all, there were few such devices before, and mothers with children were forced to do such breathing therapy within the walls of the hospital. And with the mass production of nebulizers, there is no longer any need to lie in the clinic, because you can heal at home without any problems. Also, people who bought B. Well inhaler write on the forums that this device is reliable, as evidenced by the fact that the warranty and service for it is as much as 10 years.

In fact, there are only a few negative reviews about the use of this unit. And the negative responses are due to the fact that some people do not like the noise coming from the device. B. Well inhaler is a compressor nebulizer, and this type of device, in fact, cannot work too quietly. Only ultrasonic devices can function silently. However, it is worth considering that their price is 3 times higher than that of compressor units.

Price

The price of the B.Well WN-112 nebulizer in various stores of medical equipment is different. Each store places its own markup on this product. Therefore, the cost of the device ranges from 1800 to 2500 rubles.

Now you know what are the advantages of the B.Well WN-112 nebulizer, how to use the device correctly, under what diagnoses it should be used. We also found out how people feel about this model of the inhaler - most consumers do not regret that they have purchased this particular device, but on the contrary are glad that it appeared in their house. And the price, by the way, is quite acceptable and democratic, will be affordable for any Russian.

Inhalation is an integral part of therapeutic measures for respiratory diseases. Inhalation can be carried out in the old fashioned way, breathing over a pot of potatoes, having previously covered with a thick blanket. Or you can use a modern device - a nebulizer, which will allow you to carry out this procedure safely to health.

The B.Well WN 114 nebulizer is a compact electronic mesh device that can be used not only at home, but also outside it.

How does the electronic mesh nebulizer work?

The MESH nebulizer is a new generation inhaler made using Mesh technology. The main function of any inhaler is that an aerosol cloud is formed in it, which is inhaled by a person. The design of devices created using Mesh technology is truly unique. "Mesh" in translation means "mesh" or "cloud".

The nebulizer made using MESH technology is equipped with a membrane containing a huge number of micropores. That is, the membrane is a mesh, therefore such devices are called mesh nebulizers or electronic mesh. Under the action of ultrasound, the membrane vibrates, letting the liquid pass in the form of a cloud, consisting of the smallest particles. They have an optimal diameter for inhalation.

Another feature of the B. Well WN 114 model inhaler is that ultrasound does not act on the drug, but directly on the membrane, pushing the drug molecules. Thus, it is possible to achieve maximum efficiency after using this device.

This model has a closed nebulizer chamber, through which liquid does not flow out even at an angle. Therefore, this model of the inhaler is applicable to the treatment of bedridden patients, as well as small children.

Technical parameters and equipment of the nebulizer

The electronic mesh nebulizer B. Well WN 114 works by the method of ultrasonic nebulization using a mesh membrane. It has the following technical parameters:

How to use the inhaler

Before using the electronic mesh nebulizer, it is necessary to disinfect its components. The spray chamber can be disinfected by boiling. The body of the device, masks and mouthpiece must not be boiled. They are washed with soapy water, rinsed and placed in a disinfectant solution for 10 minutes. This solution can be alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. After the disinfection procedure, the components are rinsed again and dried thoroughly.

Next, the nebulizer chamber is installed on the body until it clicks. Then liquid is poured into it and closed. The maximum volume of liquid should not exceed 8 ml. After installing the mask or mouthpiece, the device is completely ready for use. After each use of the inhaler, the components are removed and washed again in soapy water, and then rinsed and dried. Pay particular attention to the membrane. It must be gently rinsed to remove drug particles.

A nebulizer (from Lat. Nebula - cloud, fog) is a device for transforming a medicine from a liquid state into an aerosol form. It is used for inhalation.

What types of nebulizers are there? What to consider when choosing a device? How to use it correctly?

Indications for use

It is intended primarily for emergency care in bronchial asthma.

It can also be used for inhalation in the treatment and prevention of other pathologies of the respiratory tract, such as:

  • bronchitis;
  • pharyngitis;
  • laryngitis;
  • tuberculosis;
  • tracheitis;
  • allergic reactions;
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
  • cystic fibrosis;
  • bronchiectasis, etc.

Inhalations are also used for nervous disorders (insomnia, asthenia, depression).

For endocrine diseases, inhalations with hormonal drugs are prescribed.

What can be sprayed in a nebulizer?

Using this device, you can turn the following drugs into an aerosol:

  • antibiotics;
  • antiseptics;
  • mucolytics;
  • cromones;
  • corticosteroids;
  • bronchodilators;
  • immunomodulators.

All of these products are available in a form specifically designed for nebulizers.

It is strictly forbidden to spray:

  • oil solutions;
  • decoctions of herbs;
  • systemic hormonal agents;
  • euphyllin.

Classification of nebulizers

There are three types of these devices:

  • compressor rooms;
  • ultrasonic;
  • electronic mesh.

Each type of device has its own pros and cons.

Compressor nebulizers convert liquid into an aerosol using a powerful stream of air that passes through the opening of the medication chamber. This is the most common type of instrument. The undoubted advantage of compressor devices is that they are capable of nebulizing all types of drugs. The resulting particles have very small sizes (up to 1/2 microns), which allows the drug to penetrate even the most inaccessible areas of the respiratory system. The disadvantages of this type of device include large size, noisy operation and the impossibility of inhalation in a supine position.

Ultrasonic nebulizers spray liquids by exposing them to a stream of high-frequency waves. The main advantages are noiselessness, the possibility of carrying out the procedure in any position and compactness (there are even portable models with batteries that you can take with you on the road). The main disadvantage of this type of device is the destructive effect of ultrasound on some groups of drugs. Mucolytic, hormonal and antibiotic agents will not be effective after passing them through this type of nebulizer. Another disadvantage is the need to buy special cups for medicines.

Electronic mesh devices create aerosol from liquid using a vibrating plate with fine holes. At the same time, the structure of any substance is not destroyed, which makes it possible to spray with such nebulizers all the drugs intended for this. Such devices, like ultrasonic ones, operate silently. The device can function at any angle of inclination, which allows inhalation in both a sitting and lying position.

What parameters should you pay attention to when choosing?

First of all, you need to familiarize yourself with the documents for the device. It must be certified and tested according to European standards. This guarantees an acceptable quality of the device, its reliability and safety for human health.

The first parameter is the average particle size and the percentage of particles less than 5 microns. The smaller the particle size and the higher the percentage of small (less than 5 microns), the more effective treatment with inhalation will be.

If the particle size is 5-10 microns, they will settle on the pharynx, larynx and trachea. Therefore, such inhalations are effective only for sore throats. The drug, crushed to particles of 2-5 microns in size, is able to reach medium and small bronchi. If the particle size is 0.5-2 microns, the drug will settle on the alveoli.

If the nebulizer is compressor, the air flow rate must be taken into account. The higher it is, the better.

The next thing to look out for is performance. The higher it is, the less time will need to be spent on inhalation to achieve the desired effect. This is especially important if a nebulizer is purchased for an asthmatic.

Another parameter to be guided by is the capacity of the medication reservoir. You need to choose a device only after the doctor has told in what dosage this or that drug will need to be refilled. The capacity should be slightly larger than that required for one inhalation. This is due to the fact that there will always be a residual volume in the reservoir - the part of the drug that has not turned into an aerosol. If the reservoir contains less medication than is needed for one procedure, you should refuse to purchase such a device. If you constantly interrupt the inhalation to refill the nebulizer, it will be much less effective.

Rules for using the nebulizer

In order for treatment with this device to bring a positive result, you need to adhere to a number of recommendations:

  • always check the expiration date of the drug before use;
  • remember the timing of replacing the nebulizer camera, do not use it longer than necessary;
  • use only saline as a solvent (water cannot be used);
  • if a mask is used, then you need to ensure its tight fit to the face so as not to lose some of the medicine;
  • fill the device only immediately before the procedure, using sterile needles and syringes;
  • breathe at a slow pace, through the mouth, hold air in the lungs for 1-2 seconds before each exhalation;
  • rinse your mouth thoroughly after the procedure;
  • if a mask was used, wash the lower part of the face;
  • after each inhalation, you need to clean the device well in the manner described in the instructions;
  • It is recommended to store the device disassembled - this way each part of it will be better preserved;
  • do not cover the compressor while the device is in operation;
  • if possible, use a mouthpiece for inhalation, since during the use of the mask, a significant part of the drug settles on the face, which reduces the effectiveness of treatment and increases the risk of medication getting into the eyes.

Observing all these rules, you can not only ensure a good treatment result, but also extend the life of the nebulizer.

Conclusion

A nebulizer is an indispensable remedy for respiratory diseases. His choice must be taken very carefully, since the effectiveness of the treatment will directly depend on the quality of the device. Use the device only in accordance with the recommendations of a doctor. In no case should you spray drugs not intended for this. To achieve the desired effect of inhalation, you must follow all the rules for using the device. When choosing a device, be sure to check the certificate. Of the characteristics, you need to pay attention to the size of the particles obtained, the percentage of those less than 5 microns, the volume of the reservoir for the drug, productivity and air flow rate.
