According to the client, the car in motion periodically began to "dull" and did not react to the gas pedal. During the movement, the failure manifested itself many times. The car then drove normally, then how it rested against the wall.

Errors P0633, P0671, P0672, P0674 are not related to the problem reported by the client. We postpone the work on these errors for the future. The only error indicating a customer complaint is P1124 (00) Accelerator pedal position malfunction stuck.

This error directly indicates the possible source of the malfunction - Accelerator pedal position. Faulty can be the pedal position sensor, the wiring between the pedal position sensor and the control unit (ECM), the engine control unit (ECM) itself, as well as there can be external factors affecting the engine control unit (ECM). When checking on site in a service with a running car, the failure does not appear in any way. The motor reacts to the gas pedal, error P1124 is not displayed. Check in motion is required.

It is not clear why, with a time difference of several seconds, the DCM3.7 engine control unit sets the pedal position switch parameter to the corresponding signals of the pedal position switch N1, N2, then ignores these signals and determines the pedal position switch-0%.

Perhaps some kind of interference is interfering with the signals of the pedal position switch N1, N2. To test this version, an Autoscope 4 was connected to the signal points of the pedal position switch N1, N2 on the DCM3.7 connector. An oscillogram was recorded in motion during the engine malfunction:

The oscillogram shows that both signals of the pedal position switch N1, N2 have no noise and interference. The voltages of pedal position switch N1 and pedal position switch N2 differ by approximately 2 times over the entire operating range.

Based on the signal received with the Autoscope, it can be concluded that the pedal position sensor and the wiring from the pedal to the control unit are in good order. This means that there is an external factor that makes the ECM, in the presence of correct signals pedal position switch N1, N2, to set the calculated parameter pedal position switch -0%.

Scanning of all systems did not reveal any errors. Then it became clear that to solve the problem it was necessary to delve into the mangrove jungle of the nonlinear logic of Kim Il Sung's falcons, which is fraught with irreversible changes in the cerebral cortex. And it may end with a fun journey with the orderlies to Kashchenko. The prospect was not inspiring. It was decided to shift the hardest part on someone else's shoulders. Through an acquaintance, I found out the phone number of an electrician from the SSANG-YONG dealership station. This courageous man at first could not understand for a long time what they wanted from him. Having understood, he said that he did not have such a thing. Maybe it really was not, or maybe it was, but did not speak. Or maybe he just didn't want to crawl out of the cozy nest in the roots of a banyan tree. But as they say in detective stories, "the investigation has reached a dead end." And I got into the car and started mindlessly looking at the buttons and light bulbs in the hope of unexpected inspiration. And indeed, some accidentally lost Pegasus kicked me with his hoof. And I pressed the brake pedal, while asking the locksmith who was running by to see if all the brake lights were on. He confirmed that everyone was on fire. The DCM3.7 wiring diagram shows that a brake pedal sensor is connected to the ECM, which can affect the calculated parameter pedal position switch

Checking the brake pedal sensor showed its serviceability. However, it suddenly turned out that when the brake pedal was pressed along with the stop signals, the side lights also came on. Conversely, when the interior light was turned on, the stop signals came on. Here it is! Eureka! Further, a matter of technology. The reason for this work was a short circuit inside the double-helix light "gauge-stop", which was the cause of the malfunction. Driving in accordance with the rules of the road was carried out with the headlights and side lights on. Through the closed spiral of the light-stop lamp in the DCM3.7, a signal was received that the brake pedal was allegedly pressed. At the same time, when the Accelerator pedal position was pressed, the ECM took it as a false signal, set the error P1124 (00) Accelerator pedal position malfunction stuck and limited the movement, taking the calculated parameter pedal position switch-0%. No other errors were recorded in all the car's ECUs, which greatly complicated the search.

Very soon I was holding in my hand a double-coil light bulb, closed inside between the spirals. Replacing this key part surprisingly brought the gas pedal position readings back to normal. And strengthened my confidence in the invincibility of the great sons of Kim.

SsangYong New Actyon is offered with two types of 2-liter power units: petrol with 149 hp. and diesel 149 hp. Initially, the diesel was offered in two variations - 149 hp. and 175 hp.


The gasoline engine received a number of complaints. Many owners periodically notice a clatter or a short "roar" when starting a cold engine. Extraneous sounds are "born" not every time the engine is started and can occur both on new cars and those already in use for some time.


Another more serious drawback is the "winter start": rpm float, and the engine stalls immediately after starting or after a while. The manufacturer tried to solve the problem by correcting the motor control program. But this method did not help everyone. Some auto mechanics suggested that the cause of the trouble lies in the wrong angle of the fuel rail: air leaks and "sweating" were noticed near the injectors. The "folk method" is to bend the ramp and change the sealing rings. According to the owners who made a similar revision, the engine began to run smoother, and the revs stopped floating.


The diesel engine periodically causes inconvenience due to the low resource of the exhaust gas temperature sensor on the turbocharger: "Check" lights up, the thrust drops, the cruise control does not turn on. The sensor resource is 20-40 thousand km, although there are quite a few owners who have traveled more than 50 thousand km without problems. Dealers change a defective sensor under warranty. The cost of the sensor from "officials" is about 5-6 thousand rubles, in a spare parts store - about 3-5 thousand rubles.


Paired with the motors are 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.


Owners of New Actyon with manual transmissions note the tight engagement of the 1st and 2nd gears, accompanied by a knock or crunch. After several tens of thousands of kilometers, the problem usually goes away. Individual owners got rid of the disadvantage by adjusting the shift lever traction.


Diesel versions of New Aktion were equipped with an "automatic" of Australian origin DSI M78 AT. Many people note the appearance of jolts when the box transitions from 1st to 2nd or after stopping, less often when going 2-3. The manufacturer tried to solve the problem by changing the firmware of the box ECU, but the update does not help everyone. When trying to change the working fluid in the box, it was found that there was an underfilling on the conveyor from 0.5 to 1.5 liters of the transmission. Unfortunately, changing the fluid and bringing its level back to normal did not solve the problem of tremors.


The petrol versions are equipped with a Hyundai “automatic”, which is installed on a potential competitor - the ix35 crossover. There are no problems with this box.

Some owners make claims against the all-wheel drive system, finding the system to work out of time. But there are no errors in the system, and no real cases of failure have been identified.


The front suspension of the SsangYong New Actyon often starts knocking already in the first ten thousand kilometers. There is no panacea: some specimens were helped by tightening the nuts for securing the front struts, others by tightening the central nut on the shock absorber rod. Replacing the support bearings does not solve the problem. The rest have resigned themselves and drive, not paying attention to the periodic knocking on the suspension.


When examining the chassis with a run of more than 20-40 thousand km, a rupture of the anther of the outer CV joint of the front axle shaft is often found. The cost of a new boot from dealers is about 1.5-2 thousand rubles, in the online store 1-1.5 thousand rubles. Some of the owners with a run of more than 30-50 thousand km were faced with the need to replace the buzzing front wheel bearing. Some Actyon owners report the appearance of a crunch or clicks when turning the steering wheel from the extreme position to the opposite. The warranty replacement of the lower part of the steering shaft assembly with the EUR solved the problem. The cost of the node is about 70-75 thousand rubles.


Body iron and paint quality are traditional for modern cars. The metal in the places of chips blooms in a couple of days. Over time, chips appear on the rear fenders at the top points of the rear lights. The probable cause is excessive mobility of the tailgate under a diagonal load. After a couple of winters, chrome trim elements of the body become cloudy and sometimes begin to swell, especially on the nameplates and the tailgate strip.


Cracking of the upper brake light is often found. Most likely, the lamp overheats, which indirectly confirms the deterioration of the spray of the rear washer nozzle built into the lamp - the water boils. In winter, when the liquid poured into the washer freezes, it squeezes the front washer nozzles out of the seats. The cost of a set of nozzles is about 400 rubles.

Often there are problems with the power windows, more often the rear ones: at first they work every other time, and then they completely stop responding. Authorized services replace the drive electric motors under warranty (about 3 thousand rubles). A possible cause of the malfunction is an insufficient amount of lubricant in the rollers and pinched guides, as a result, the electric motor cannot withstand a constant heavy load.

The plastic in the cabin often creaks, especially with the arrival of cold weather. The play of the glove compartment hinge contributes to the accompaniment on irregularities. After the first ten thousand kilometers, the steering wheel cover often begins to climb. Unfortunately, not all dealers meet the customer halfway and change the “balding” steering wheel under warranty.


Not without a couple of "glitches" of electrical systems. One of them, turning off the cruise control. The reason is described at the very beginning of the article - the failure of the exhaust gas temperature sensor on the turbocharger.


The other is found on ESP-equipped Aktion. Owners are faced with the flashing of the "garland" of ESP + ABS + handbrake warning lamp, which is sometimes "seasoned" with indicators of the EUR malfunction and the "Check AWD" all-wheel drive system. As a rule, the display panel is illuminated immediately after ESP training in winter on ice, more often on an uneven surface. It should be noted that this situation does not occur every time the system is triggered. After turning off the ignition, the "glitch" goes away, and the system continues to work normally. At the moment dealers do not have a solution to the problem and an explanation of the nature of the origin of the "phenomenon".

This is not an SUV

The lineup of the Korean - and this is Kyron, Rexton, Aktion and exotic Nomad and Stavik - by their appearance tell us: "Look, I'm a big off-road car." Directly "jyp part-time". This is not true. Not at all. The entire model range is in basic condition - at best, city and family cars.

All SY Koreans do not have that much power output from the engine. Driving more than 90 km / h on the highway becomes a problem: the dynamics does not allow to overtake convincingly, the speed gains up to 110-120 and then is reluctant. An attempt to use the SY as a real SUV will end very quickly without starting: there is no mechanical strength in the nodes of this car. Base and turning radius - not for rough terrain at all. Optics

Exchange rate stability

The sore spot of all the first generations of SY Koreans. Partly due to weight distribution - they have a higher center of mass than we are used to, partly - with the properties of the suspension. Have SsangYong malfunctions here in bulk.

Ball joints

The unsuccessful constructive element of the first generations of SY did not add positive emotions to the owners either. Ball joints flew out of the mounts on the move, for no apparent reason, the car was in a ditch, it’s good if people are alive.

This is a factory defect, a replacement under warranty, but the replacement was somehow sluggish: there are still a lot of Koreans in the secondary market, where no one has changed anything, and the SsangYong problems remain.

The supporting parts of SY vehicles also have problems with the rest of the mechanical fasteners. Either the dynamic loads were calculated poorly, or just the quality of welding. But there is a risk that some necessary part will fall off at an unnecessary moment. Gentlemen, but this is not an UAZ, in fact.

Injectors

If a Korean has nozzles flowing, then they flow with soul, entirely and for all the money.

Solved by replacing the nozzles. It appears after 30-35 thousand km of run. Breakdowns are not recognized as a factory defect, they just are what they are. Some configurations are lucky and all is well. Regularities have not yet been identified.

Automatic transmission

The Chiron is diagnosed with a factory defect with the control board in the automatic transmission. Changeable under warranty. But there is a lot of fuss. It usually appears after 40 thousand, in the last generations they promised to correct it.

Suspension again
