Games count of duty list of similar ones. Games similar to Call of Duty (CoD)

Users are looking for games similar to Call of Duty, since this series is highly dynamic and almost always has an interesting plot. Some parts from the line are deservedly considered iconic, because they gave unforgettable emotions. That is why all fans of these games should know similar projects in order to try to complete them themselves.

Main competitor

For more than five recent years Among Call of Duty-like games, the Battlefield series stood out as its main competitor. Starting with the part of Bad Company 2, the developers began to create interesting campaigns that are designed for joint or solo playthrough. The same trend was repeated in the third and fourth parts, although they are such only in name and not in number. Latest project series about the First World War showed a truly high-quality plot and realistic military shooter. At the same time, DICE studio projects have always been aimed at multiplayer battles. There are maps for 64 and 32 players with full destructibility and a huge arsenal of weapons.

Trying to compete

The Medal of Honor series falls partly into the Call of Duty-like category. It is significantly smaller in the number of projects, but there are some similarities. The first parts were made in the spirit of realism and tell about the Second World War. After the release of the successful Airborn in 2007, nothing was heard about shooters from this line for three years.

In 2010, there was an attempt to restart the franchise. The emphasis in this project was on entertainment and plot, as in all parts of Call of Duty at that time. The story was about a special forces unit in Afghanistan and confronting terrorist forces. The project came out too crude and received quite a lot of negative reviews. Despite this, the developers are releasing a sequel to the Warfighter reboot. In it, the emphasis was placed on the most accurate reflection of military operations of the past and the social component. These two games may not appeal to all fans of the shooter genre, but they are definitely worth a look as they are AAA titles and can offer interesting gameplay elements.

Tactics and dynamism

Similar games to Call of Duty do not completely copy the style of this series, because no one in the community would approve of this. Some projects are similar in elements and are able to fill the time while waiting for the next part from your favorite line. This list includes all the Rainbow Six games that are already considered classics in terms of tactical battles. Shooters demonstrate the importance of teamwork, and main character must also perform the function of a commander. He must give orders to squad members and plan skirmishes with enemies. It is not necessary to do this; you can break through crowds of enemies on your own. It is because of this feature that the series is included in the list of games similar to Call of Duty.

The Vegas projects in two parts and the new part of Siege received high marks from critics and the gaming community. They are the ones best choice in replacement of “Call of Honor” with a tactical component. Well-developed locations high level artificial intelligence and a large selection of weapons - all this will appeal to fans of the genre.

Console exclusive

Not all similar games Call of Duty was released for personal computers. The Halo series throughout its existence remained exclusive to the Xbox console, with the exception of the first part, which was nevertheless published on PC. This franchise is the most popular game on this console, the third part broke many records in terms of sales. All this is largely due to the interesting plot and high-quality gameplay. The user takes on the role of a super soldier who fights on the side of the people in the war against the Covenant. As you progress through any of the parts, the player will be offered interesting missions, a variety of weapons, and transport trips. All this is seasoned with colorful graphics of a unique fictional world.

The series is capable of giving no less emotions than “Call of Honor”; every owner of an Xbox console should see this for themselves. The Halo line falls into the category of games similar to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare due to its similar dynamics and exciting adventures.

Horror and shooter rolled into one

If we take similar games on PC to Call of Duty, then we should definitely mention F.E.A.R. In the projects in this series, the developers have focused on the atmosphere of fear and tension, but this does not diminish the colorfulness of the shootings. These are no longer military shooters, like most of the above-mentioned masterpieces. Here events revolve around a girl named Alma, who has abnormal abilities and poses a threat to all humanity.

The user is part of an elite squad, where fighters have enhanced reflexes and thanks to this they can slow down time around them. the main objective- find out all the circumstances of the case with Alma and capture the target. The first and second parts were horror-oriented, but the third is more like a shooter. Here you can go through the story together and even choose a character for yourself. All three projects have received very positive reviews from game publishers and deserve attention.

Military shooter series Call of Duty became phenomenally popular immediately after the appearance of the first part in 2003 and confidently maintains its gained positions until the present moment.

Moreover, even if you go beyond the boundaries of the genre and start talking about computer games overall, CoD will still remain at the forefront of the "best of the best" list. And the main proof of this is the place in the top three or five best-selling games in Europe and North America, where each new part (and every year the Call of Duty line manages to acquire at least one new game) has been consistently included for several years in a row.

At the same time, there is a part of the players, quite a large one, who does not take the series seriously. Moreover, calling it monotonous and uninteresting, created according to the principle of a conveyor belt, where a money-hungry publisher sent it after about the third or fourth part (here the opinions of skeptic players differ).

Of course, one can argue with such an assessment for a long time and fiercely, referring at least to the fact that at the moment within the framework of Call of Duty there are several completely different story-time arcs dedicated to various military conflicts, with their own characters and gameplay features, as well as the fact that these games are made by several separate developers (Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and others), and therefore, by definition, they cannot be “one to one”. But we won't do this.

We will not judge at all which part of the gaming community is on the side of the truth, but will only present to your attention another selection of games similar to Call of Duty. We hope you find it useful.

11.Warface

One of the most popular online shooters in the CIS, distributed according to the free-to-play model. Warface takes the player to the near future, where there is a fierce struggle for influence between several paramilitary organizations.

By choosing one of the two sides, the player can choose one of four available specializations for his character: sniper, attack aircraft, medic and engineer. In addition, Warface offers a large selection of items for customization - more than 130 pieces of equipment, divided into four categories: helmet, gloves, boots and body armor. The choice of weapons is also very wide - three hundred units, which are prototypes of real firearms and bladed weapons. Modifications are available for any of them in the form of a muffler, bipod, flame arrester, various types sight and so on.

As for the gameplay, Warface has both PvP modes and cooperative missions for teams of up to 5 people.

10. Delta Force Series

Traditionally, we start the list with an old-timer, and this time we had in mind not just one game like Call of Duty, but a whole series called Delta Force. The first part of it was released in 1998, and the last one at the moment, Delta Force: Xtreme 2, was released in 2009. Therefore, be mentally prepared for very old graphics.

We mentioned this series solely for the sake of those players whose computers are not able to handle the overly demanding shooters of recent years. In terms of gameplay, the game is also not very impressive - its game mechanics are too far behind modern trends. But what you definitely can’t deny is its similarity to CoD. Especially with parts dedicated to modern warfare.

9. Soldier of Fortune: Payback

The third part of the once notorious “Soldiers of Fortune” line, which, unlike its predecessors, was not able to achieve at least some serious success and recognition. However, as a Call of Duty-type game, Payback is a very good shooter.

An absolutely linear, formulaic, but sometimes still interesting FPS, the plot of which will take players through 14 missions filled with cruelty, accompanied by shooting off limbs, crushing heads and other obscenities. As you can see, the signature bloodthirstiness of the Soldier of Fortune series has not gone away.

In addition, the game retains the ability to wield weapons in both hands. There is also multiplayer.

8. Medal of Honor Series

7. Homefront Series

A series of fantastic shooters, consisting of two games, telling about the confrontation between American partisans and the army of the Republic of Korea that captured the United States.

Main features of Homefront:

  1. Cool modern graphics and physics.
  2. Fascinating, unpredictable plot (especially the first part).
  3. The presence of various high-tech gadgets that play an important role in the gameplay.
  4. Availability of multiplayer.

6. Brothers in Arms series

Tactical shooters dedicated to the Second World War. main feature Brothers in Arms is that the player can give direct orders to his comrades. The game also has a tactical pause mode. Both of these features bring an element of tactical strategy to the series.

Brothers in Arms can also be praised for its hardcore gameplay, high level of realism and historical accuracy (archival materials and photographs were used when creating three parts of the PC shooter).

5. Red Orchestra Series

Another series of tactical shooters dedicated to the events of World War II. Currently includes two games: Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41–45 and Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad.

A special feature of the series is that you can play here for both sides of the conflict. In addition, the passage of Red Orchestra is focused on playing online, but there is also the opportunity to play alone against AI.

RO features several different classes of fighters and a large selection of tracked and stationary military equipment.

4. Operation Flashpoint: Red River

A shooter from Codemasters, considered by many players to be the best among tactical FPS dedicated to major military conflicts due to its highly reliable simulation of combat operations in modern conditions.

Red River features an exciting single-player game that can be played in co-op mode, as well as multiplayer.

The tactical element is very well developed: the main character, who is a marine, will be accompanied by four more comrades, to whom you can give orders. There are also four classes of fighters to choose from, each with their own set of weapons and special skills.

In Red River there is the opportunity to gain experience points to subsequently improve the equipment and skills of squad members.

3. Battlefield: Bad Company series

Perhaps the Bad Company series can be called the most memorable, controversial, defiant, sarcastic and God knows what else game similar to Call of Duty.

It has a lot of amenities (high-quality graphics, realistic combat mechanics, a large number of weapons, permanent shift places of action and so on), but the main thing, perhaps, is its atmosphere, sparkling, purely soldierly humor and the superbly conveyed spirit of army brotherhood. Yes, and, of course, the main ones characters- a detachment of “penalties”, consisting of looters, deserters and war criminals who have nothing to lose.

2. Ghost Recon Wildlands

One of the new releases this year, the tactical shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands has definitely earned its place in the ranking of the best Call of Duty-like games. Judge for yourself:

  1. A huge, colorful and completely open world for free movement.
  2. The presence of a cooperative mode.
  3. Large selection of weapons and vehicles.
  4. A good story telling about the struggle of an elite military detachment with a large drug cartel.
  5. Lots of side quests.
  6. Dynamic shootouts.
  7. Wide range of possibilities for customizing characters, their weapons and equipment.
  8. The opportunity to learn various skills useful for survival and sabotage warfare.
  9. Advanced weapon upgrade system.
  10. Well chosen music.

1. Battlefield 4

The list is completed by the fourth number (in general list the twelfth) part of the Battlefield series, which is the main competitor of CoD. Despite the fact that the game was released almost five years ago, it still looks very decent today and can give a head start to many modern shooters. Especially when viewed through the prism of its similarities to Call of Duty.

Now about what the game can offer us:

  1. A fun single player mode with several different endings.

After sitting in a wheelchair for 14 years, our hero saw with his own eyes the Nazi atrocities against medical personnel and decided to put an end to their rule. It was precisely this event that forced the brave captain Bloszkowicz to challenge the Nazi regime in an alternative world, where the second world war The Nazis won.
The new Wolfenstein: The New Order is an absolutely serious game, which is almost proven complete absence jokes and banter about the Nazis.

PlanetSide 2 is one of the greatest games in the history of the genre, with thousands of soldiers on one battlefield, with tanks, aircraft, etc. The game's story means little to the developers, judging by how much attention was paid to it. The game doesn't even have an introductory cutscene that could shed any light on who these soldiers are and what they're fighting for. And yet, you can find out that the story tells about the colonization by people of the distant planet Aurexis, where the fighting takes place.

This is a completely free shooter that is available for both PC and PS4. This game has a large number of weapon settings, gadgets and very nice graphics, which, by the way, are based on the Unreal Engine 3 game engine. Blacklight is a futuristic technology that is offered to select the perfect equipment for your soldier.

There is simply no place for good games in the markets, so the authors of the third part of Resistance had to desperately lie to us, a noisy advertising company promised super cool game. In fact, Resistance 3 did not present a Hollywood scale or a new round in the genre, but no one really cared about this. We were given a good shooter that deserves to take a couple of bucks out of our wallet and not regret it.

Crysis 3 is the third game in the Crysis series and once again offers a breathtaking visual experience coupled with mind-blowing FPS gameplay. The game continues the story of the previous game, but 24 years later. In the new part, a group of rebels rescues the Prophet, and he begins to carry out his new task - the elimination of alien superintelligence. The events of Crysis 3 this time unfold in an urban jungle setting, where the player explores a transformed New York.

Warface is a free shooter with classes and co-op modes with an ever-growing number of maps. Available for PC and Xbox 360 (until February 2015) Warface is a highly rated free-to-play shooter that can handle any average PC/laptop. Battlefield 3 was released in late 2011 for PC, PS3 and Xbox360. It was warmly received by ordinary players, critics and fans of the series. This game seemed to jump into a tank and drive it through all its competitors, and not only, as expected, in multiplayer, but also in the single-player campaign. The story of Battlefield 3 takes place in 2014, the civilized world continues to go about its usual business, wars and similar operations to destroy the strongholds of global terrorism.

To begin with, let's briefly plunge into history: the original Star Wars: Battlefront, released in the early 2000s, or more precisely, in 2004, was actually a carbon copy of another famous multiplayer game, which was released two years earlier - we're talking about Battlefield 1942. despite such similarities, the project became successful and formed a whole circle of fans, which numbered tens of thousands of players. Such an excellent result naturally led to the fact that almost twelve months later, on October 31, 2005, the world saw the sequel...

Medal of Honor: Warfighter was published by Electronic Arts and offers similar gameplay to the Call of Duty series. The game was published at the end of 2012 on PS, PS, Xbox360 and became the fourteenth game in the Medal Of Honor franchise. The plot of the campaign is still based on real events that happened to the elite Tier 1 unit. In the new part, the developers decided not to use the real names of Taliban militants.

The free-to-play shooter Warframe is available for PC and PlayStation 4. It is an exclusively cooperative first-person shooter that is designed for up to four people. The characters are ancient warriors, something like space ninjas in futuristic Warfare suits...

We bring to your attention a game that was born to put the HALO series on its back. Before the release of Killzone: Shadow Fall, it was clearly not doing well, and it’s not a fact that after its release it lived up to expectations. Let's see.
Briefly about the plot, there are two factions: the Hilghast - these are like Nazis in gas masks and the Vektans - brave Americans in shining armored suits.

From the first minutes it is clear that the game is made at the world level. Already the first scene at the Ostankovskaya Tower is filled with an ominous atmosphere and darkness that gives you goosebumps.
Metro 2033 has a very viscous, truly creepy atmosphere in which you feel comfortable and you start playing not for the sake of the plot, but for interest - well, what next. I want to study the world more and more deeply, immerse myself in it and become part of it.

Titanfall is a first-person shooter for Windows, Xbox 360 and Xbox One that pushes the genre in a new direction by introducing large mech fighting machines. With a huge amount of variety in gameplay, the game in 2014 set new standard in the FPS genre. In Titanfall, players have the option of moving around the map on foot or jumping into a mechanical robotic vehicle known as the Titan.

Battlefield 4 continues the series of impressive first-person shooters, which are famous for their chic multiplayer. The game is available for the new generation (Xbox One and PlayStation 4), as well as PC, PS3, Xbox360, WII U and Wii. Understanding that the graphical part of the game is very important for today’s generation of game lovers, the developers allocated the main part to it in the campaign.

Metro has a strong credibility among the Russian-speaking player, which rests on two pillars - post-apocalyptic romance, which is especially appreciated in our area, and the second factor is the feeling of an extraordinary atmosphere with bright drops of the Slavic soul. And now Metro last light receives wonderful reviews and ratings from Western publications, but in fact there is still something to discuss.

It’s always unpleasant for supporters of the original when the wrong people take on the sequel, perhaps that’s why BioShock 2 was NOT dug for the lack of novelty only by the lazy, so it’s doubly nice that BioShock Infinite fell into the hands of the original creators. So, meet our hero - this is Booker David, private detective with a dark past. His path leads to Columbia - a giant flying city where Elizabeth was kidnapped.

Counter Strike 1.6. came out in 2000. In common parlance, “contra” is a multiplayer shooter that also allows you to play with bots. In the game you take on one of two roles - a terrorist or a police officer (special forces). At the beginning, everyone chooses a side or takes the place of a spectator. Teams have their own tasks. Special forces must free the hostages or clear the mine. Terrorists must set a mine or hold hostages.

With many free games like Call of Duty I feel sorry for spending money on buying a game every new generation of CoD. If you're like me, then you'll love this list of free CoD alternatives because these games are just as fun to play through and won't drain your wallet.

With the advent of improved technology that reduces game development time and the growing popularity of the freemium model, there is now no shortage of free games available for download on the Internet. But along with the good games, there are also bad ones, which can make trying out the available options a long and tedious process.

Having gone through this entire process more than once, I thought it would be a good idea to make it easier for people like me who are looking for free games similar to Call of Duty by publishing this very page.

Warframe

If you're looking for a free-to-play shooter that's primarily designed around team-based co-op, then Warframe is one of the new games that you should pay attention to. In the game, you become a Tenno once you don your powerful warsuit (known as Warframes), fighting a variety of enemies, each threatening in their own way.

The gameplay pairs you with three other players, creating a team for the mission ahead of you. The missions are very varied: from killing enemies, capturing locations, killing key opponents, to the simple task of staying alive while you can. To achieve the goal, players are given their own unique equipment that can be combined and modified to control your character in a manner that suits you or works well for your current team composition.

Due to the fact that the game is not essentially a first-person shooter (it uses a close-up view over the shoulder of the character in third-person mode), I highly recommend it to fans of Call of Duty multiplayer who want to play a game where the main emphasis is on cooperation in the game, and not just battle with other players.

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA)

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) is one of the free-to-play Call of Duty-like games that I've probably enjoyed the most when it comes to purely military shooters. The game is produced by the team at Aeria Games, and my experience with their other products has been mostly positive, so I was willing to give Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) a try.

The game has been around for several years now, but Lately There have been some impressive strides forward in the direction of releasing graphical updates and increasing the number of game modes available. Things like experience gain, unlocking hidden options, friend lists, and other community features are present in the game to keep you hooked and create a sense of progress.

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) offers plenty of game modes that any first-person shooter fan will love: various cooperation options with other players available for all modes, capture the flag and multi-round missions.

PlanetSide 2

PlanetSide 2 is a clear winner in terms of its scope and depth; is an extremely fun and interesting MMOFPS. The game is set in the same universe as the first game, but you don't really need experience with the original to enjoy this game.

And yet, as someone who played the first game, I can tell you that they are very different from each other. The original PlanetSide was the kind of game where the storylines didn't flow together into an overall story, and there were too many issues with it that the game couldn't be given a high rating. In the sequel, everything is completely different, since its developers literally redid everything, starting from the first drawings and prevented the occurrence of defects at the initial stage.

PlanetSide 2 takes place in a futuristic war setting as three factions fight for control of various territories. This is an especially attractive option if you like to control land vehicles or aircraft, as PlanetSide 2 has a lot of them. All of the numerous factions have their own strengths and weak sides, which do not add up to the overall strategy, and are extremely important to consider when making a decision about which weapon to take into battle against a specific faction.

You'll have to adapt to the behavior of your chosen faction, and it's generally a good idea to test your strengths and weaknesses before jumping into battle. Depending on your playstyle, you'll definitely fit into one faction more than the other. It's also a good idea to communicate with friends who have joined the same faction to make sure you can fight together in different areas.

Gotham City Impostors

Gotham City Impostors This is one of those games that, in order to attract gamers, begins its life as a paid game and then becomes free for users. In the case of Gotham City Impostors, this technique worked perfectly, but, however, the game is still a paid game for consoles, so I can only recommend its PC version.

As you might have guessed from the title, the game takes place in the Batman universe, consisting of a series of exciting maps of the area (for example, the Batman mansion), where heroes similar to Batman must fight villains reminiscent of the Joker. The main focus of the game is on two points. This is, firstly, the ability to customize character parameters in detail, and secondly, the ability to easily move around the map.

You can move around the area, dressed in Batman's cape, using a rope and grappling hook, roller skates and many other ways. These elements fit perfectly into the overall fun and colorful atmosphere that the game offers.

But where the game really shines is in how easy it is to customize your character. crazy amount. Not only do you have a wide variety of weapons to choose from, but you also get the ability to customize your character's body, there are special incentive bonus settings, and much more. You can create different character options and freely switch between them depending on your momentary desire or the abilities that are necessary to play on a certain map or as part of a team.

I'm a big fan of non-military games like Call of Duty that aren't overly serious (like Team Fortress 2, which is also on this list), and if you're into those types of games, this is a great option.

Team Fortress 2

Another one of the casual first-person shooters that I really like is Team Fortress 2. Similar to Gotham City Impostors, the game was originally released as a paid game and has exploded in popularity since it became free to play. It's a game that I keep coming back to, simply because it has a fun atmosphere, a close-knit community of players, and a level of variety that most other games simply can't match. You can get the game for free through the platform.

There are no complicated storylines in the game: the Blue and Red teams confront each other in endless battles, which, as a rule, take place on maps drawn in accordance with the mission goal. The main element of the game is the nine classes established by the developers, each of which plays its own role on the battlefield. With enough game hours, you can also unlock additional elements that slightly change your role in the game and help you follow your preferred strategy.

Character classes include heavyweight strongmen who can withstand heavy loads, Medics who can heal teammates, Spies who can turn into enemies, and Pyrotechnicians who like to play with fire. The game really can be enjoyed by everyone, but you have to be willing to try all of these character classes to see what suits you.

Maps offer plenty of choice; In stock great amount different maps and game modes, and if you are part of a large community, finding a game that suits your requirements is very easy. All the standard maps, such as the capture the flag mission map, are also present in the game, but there are also more unique ones that represent something that you have never encountered before.

If you are one of those people who appreciate variety, then the free game Team Fortress 2 is the perfect alternative to Call Of Duty.

and Wii). The series boasts a huge collection of games, each new game new features are offered and the best developments are added. There are a ton of Call of Duty expansions coming out these days, most of which are of high quality. These games have always been famous for their excellent co-op, so they are especially fun to play with friends.

Of course, Call of Duty may not be an option for people who have followed the series from the very beginning and have already played through all the games (like me), so let's continue...

The best option would be to pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops II

2 - Battlefield (series)

7 - F.E.A.R. (Series)

F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) is another popular first-person shooter game, but with a horror twist, which makes this game exciting and scary. F.E.A.R. available for Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The plot tells about supernatural activity that centers around the little girl Alma. The player takes on the role of one of the members of FEAR, who has superhuman reflexes (allowing him to slow down time, called "time reflex" in the game).

The game features a variety of standard weapons, including pistols, submachine guns, and assault rifles, along with many futuristic and fictional weapons (such as laser and proton cannons). Project Blackout - MMO FPS in an urban style (city theme). Players fight each other big map together with vehicles (including helicopters).

Blackout has a compelling story, but lacks graphics. Blackout players are also offered a lot of weapon customization.

Unfortunately, Blackout lacks game modes and only offers limited appearance customization.

12 - Rainbow Six (series)

Tactical FPS from Tom Clancy

More than a tactical shooter, Rainbow Six requires players to spend more time focusing on stealth and tactics. Thanks to this feature of the game, it was able to compete with popular FPS such as call of duty.

The latest and popular addition to Rainbow Six Vegas includes Vegas 2. These games are available on multiple platforms (PC, Xbox 360, PS3).

The games received high praise from fans and critics citing excellent graphics, balanced game balance and well-designed maps.

13 - Brink

Fast paced FPS on a floating island

Brink is a shooter released in 2001. The game revolves around two factions (resistance and safety) who fight for floating cities. This game has a unique movement style called parkour (called SMART) that works great on game console systems. Brink offers co-op and competitive game modes supporting up to 16 players online.

Brink has 4 playable classes (Soldier, Medic, Engineer, and Operative) that players can switch between as they please. For points in the game, you can use costumes, buy weapons, and much more.

Further settings offer body types (heavy, medium and light), each with their own pros and cons. Heavy body types are capable of carrying any weapon and have a high level of health, but are limited in movement speed. Average body type can't lift heavy weapons, but has a decent health scale and is more mobile (sprint speed and parkour capabilities). The lightest body type is very limited when it comes to weapons and maximum health, but they can run faster and overcome obstacles that others cannot.
