Department of neuroses chapygina 13 psychotherapist lyudmila leonidovna. SPb GUZ TsVL "Mnukhin Children's Psychiatry". Center for Rehabilitation "Children's Psychiatry" named after S.S. Mnukhina

Elena, if I remember everything correctly, you are a teacher by profession. Surely you are familiar with this: after a few words of the student, it becomes clear whether he was preparing in the subject today - or not.
So for me, as a person who at one time participated in the program of social rehabilitation of preschool children with hyperactivity syndrome, delayed speech development and generalized mental retardation, it is clear that doctors who send a child with these diagnoses for psychiatric examination, to put it mildly, just want to shift from responsibility. Roughly speaking, they are just laymen.
The suspicion of the diagnosis "psychosis", which can only be made to an adult, since this is a disorder of the FORMED psyche, more than speaks to me about the competence of the specialists who conducted the examination.

As for the competence of the center's specialists, I am simply familiar with the current state of child psychiatry in Russia. Psychiatrists, if they have received a child from neurologists (namely, neurologists - that is, in pure form physicians who have no idea about psychology - are admitted to a neuropsychiatric dispensary), are more likely to change the diagnosis to a more appropriate one - rather than refuse to accept the child. These are the costs of operating the medical system as a whole. Since they will bear varying degrees of responsibility for refusing treatment according to the referral - and for changing the diagnosis. Roughly speaking, in the first case, you will have to fill in more different pieces of paper

And now imagine the situation in pictures: there were cases when a child received sensorimotor alolia from a neurologist simply for being embarrassed at a doctor's appointment. Which in ninety cases out of a hundred nods in response to the neurologist - and will readily dump the child with all sorts of rubbish, for the very "do not indulge"?

Now, with regards to the differences between a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist. These are, of course, completely different specialists. And I know about this not because somewhere I "found" this information on the network, but because it is my profession to understand the differences between a psychologist, a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist.

A psychiatrist is a doctor. This is a person who treats ONLY with medication; and which, as a rule, deals only with mental disorders caused by morphological features.
A psychotherapist is a person who, first of all, has psychological training, and specializes in cases that do not have morphological disorders of the central nervous system. He also possesses general knowledge of psychiatry, but not in order to apply them in practice, but in order to be able to correctly diagnose: or to exclude gross mental disorders and to count the case with which he was addressed, as a case not beyond the scope of psychotherapeutic competence - or and refer the patient to a psychiatrist if there is a psychiatric diagnosis. But he himself is NOT a psychiatrist. He can also carry out drug therapy, including, but only as an auxiliary, and not the main treatment.
In a word, a psychotherapist is a combined specialist, but he is primarily a psychologist, not a psychiatrist.
In practice, they - a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist - completely solve completely different problems.

In general, Elena, I write all this not so much for commentators as for my mother - the author of the blog. If she finds it necessary to contact me in personal correspondence and ask questions, including those regarding my competence, I will certainly answer. But, of course, I will not waste time explaining elementary things to all those interested, doubting and curious - if this interest does not go beyond the limits of idleness. I made this comment, rather, also for Olesya.

It is very funny and strange to correspond on professional topics with a person who found something on the Internet on a subject of interest, and for the first time was puzzled by the differences between a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist.

At the center of child psychiatry - housewarming
The former Imperial Nikolaevskaya hospital is accepting small patients again. In the historical buildings on Chapygina street, the Center for Children's Psychiatry was opened. On May 6, 2011, the completely renovated buildings were shown to the governor. During treatment, children will be able to attend school, which is also located on the territory of the center. Construction of two new buildings is underway. After the completion of the work, the hospital will be able to admit about 300 patients. Valentina Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg: “Upon completion of the construction of these buildings, we will bring children's psychiatry here from Pesochnaya, and thus, it will be a single integrated center. In the first quarter of 2012, the modernization of child psychiatry will be fully completed. It will be the best center in Russia. ”About 40 patients are already undergoing treatment at the clinic. In the future, doctors are going to use day hospitals more often so as not to separate children from their families. According to the calculations of officials, in St. Petersburg almost 12 thousand need such assistance. Former Imperial Nikolaev hospital accepts small patients again. In addition to treating severe mental illnesses, sometimes you just need advice from a specialist.
Dmitry Shigashov, chief physician of the center for rehabilitation treatment "Children's Psychiatry" named after S.S. Mukhina:
“There are quite a large number of children who need counseling. In difficult situations - in case of maladjustment at school, in case of a child's collision with cruelty ".
The hospital basically refused to use bars. The windows have durable double-glazed windows. A unique speech pathology department and a 24-hour city trust center will soon appear in the center.
