Creation of a quest game (quest fairy tales for students) methodological development on the topic. Creating a quest What is a quest and how to organize it

How to organize an educational quest: guidelines, rules for conducting and a quest script for an English lesson.

A little bit about yourself: My name is Vadim Suslov, I am a teacher of English and economics, screenwriter, writer, entrepreneur. He worked with children of different ages from 5 to 16 years old.

What motivated me to create educational quests?

First, it is the strict framework of the program. You and I must understand that in 1 year or, for example, in 6 years, the child will not learn English. God forbid, if he masters it in 11 years. This is important to understand and accept. Therefore, the main thing is to instill interest in the child, to motivate him to learn the language.

Secondly, many children need an individual approach, and educational quests, in this case, serve as an ideal universal tool.

Thirdly, quests help to involve students with poor academic performance in the educational process.

And, of course, what could be better than children's emotions, genuine and pure? The very long-awaited feedback that every teacher is waiting for.

Information is absorbed better during the game - that was and is my motto. Children aged 5,6,7 are not very interested in grammar or rules, they are interested in the teacher and his instrumentation.

Synopsis of an educational quest (point by point) or a guideline for beginners

1. Give the children a printed quest (task sheet).
2. Explain the rules and order of passage, set a tight timing.
3. Test in beta test quest for a small group of students.

4. Present the legend in parts, do not "unload" everything at once, if it is not
olympiad or competition.
5. Try to make the puzzles parallel so that all participants are involved in the process. Do not forget about the logic of the quest.
6. When creating a quest, come up with a problem and smoothly lead the players towards solving it. If we are talking about elementary school, then try to introduce a negative character into the game.
7. Use as many tools as possible during the quest, such as a safe, UV flashlight, UV marker, combination locks, etc.

Quests like this shouldn't be done every day. Enough 1-2 per month, first of all, in order to consolidate the passed material.

Is it difficult to implement such a quest? No, not difficult. For a simple quest, it is enough have this modest set:

  • Whatman sheet
  • Colored markers or markers
  • Scissors
  • Paper
  • Pens
  • A pinch of fantasy

As my experience shows, optimal number of participants in one command - from 4 to 5 people.

Topics can be any: Olympiad of the Future or Investigation of the Century.

According to research, the most popular quest topics are jailbreak or robbery. These themes are universal, they are equally popular with men and women, and at the same time can be adapted for educational quests.

For example, the legend may be as follows: the students were trapped in a hold aboard the ship "Ignorance".

I suggest a ready-made script for an educational quest. The script has been tested on the territory of the Open World.

Educational quest in English

Introductory script:
The Players are a group of professional Olympic athletes from the future. Legend (told to the players or written on the sheet with tasks): the distant future has come in the courtyard of the year 2166. Many things known in the 21st century have undergone significant changes: flying cars, environmental concerns, a vegetarian society, and much more. Including sports, or rather the Olympic Games, now in athletes, it is not strength that is valued, but knowledge or skills. So, today has come for you the very day that all athletes from all over the world are looking forward to. It is here and now, you have to show yourself and reveal all your skills and abilities. Do not forget that your goal- this is to score as many points as possible and get into the TOP rating. As you know, all winners will receive a prize.

So, your team is ready, the time has come!

Quest specifics:

  1. Before the quest, all teams are given special sheets with tasks.
  2. There are few tasks, all of them are designed for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Players have to fill in several fields on the quest sheet (quest sheet), so it is recommended that you provide the players with a pen or pencil.
  4. To implement the quest you You will need the following items or props:
pencils, pens, worksheets with assignments, 2 sheets of Whatman paper (several), a projector and
presenter - actor (but it is possible without him), timer, dictaphone with recording, cork
stand (as in schools), blindfolds (4 pieces), tennis balls, 4 vessels
stuff with filling, whistle and visual start line.
  5. Incentive system - three teams in the TOP rating receive prizes:
a Porsche car, a ticket to life, a ticket to the planet England.
  6. Players receive points for completing tasks (obstacles).
  7. Players must read the quests very carefully.

Quest progress:

Players take-receive sheets with quest (tasks) and read the legend... As they read the legend, players realize that they are players and that some kind of competition awaits them.

After reading the legend, players will have to fill in the field at the top quest list. In the “TEAM:” free field, players must create and write onEnglish languageyour team name.

TEAM: (for example: FOX, Balls)

Task number 1 (on whatman paper)

After the players have entered the name of the team, they go to Whatman with the characteristic number one(under the number: one).

What's on whatman paper: in addition to the number, players will also see a drawing on the Whatman paper, and below it an encrypted message and a small crossword puzzle (5 words).

Decrypt the message: pmizb n(an icon of a heart or a letter in a heart with a hint of the next task) is possible only with the help of the “master letter” (the letter with which the coding begins), using the Julius Caesar cipher.

Julius Caesar's cipher

Caesar's cipher is a kind of substitution cipher, in which each character in the plaintext is replaced by a character located at some constant number of positions to the left or to the right of it in the alphabet. For example, in a cipher with a shift to the right by 3, A would be replaced by D, B would become D, and so on.

In order to obtain the “master letter” and unravel the encryptedmessage - players have to guess the crossword puzzle(located on the same sheet Whatman paper).

The crossword puzzle consists of five words and is absolutely linear, i.e. to solve it, you need to consistently enter words, but pictures (pictures or something else) are used as questions. Divide each picture like a field in a sea battle game.

Crossword drawing

Sample questions / answers

  1. What do you see in the picture? (animals)
  2. 3Х1 (sheep)
  3. 2X5 (pig)
  4. An animal with a long neck? (giraffe)
  5. This letter is in the alphabet between the first letter of the answer to the fourth
question and you (you - I)
  6. The players deciphered the code and received the following message: "heart" (you can in English heart F).

With the help of the decoded message, the players understand which stand they need to go to next, and which card they need to draw from the next table.

For this task, players will receive the maximum 5 points... At the discretion of the host.

Task number 2 (stand)

A heart is drawn on the next stand. On the table near the stand there are 10 cards with various tasks (on the front side of each card, players see a letter of the English alphabet). Turning over card with a letter, players will discover the task.

  • Speak for 5 minutes in a squeaky voice.
  • After each word, say the word SR for 10 minutes.

The task is to go through the previous task and not to guess on the "coffee grounds", but to pull out the card with the desired task from the first time.

For completing this task, players will receive a maximum of 4 points (at the discretion of the leader).

Task number 3

Players need to take a selfie with the host in front of him and post it on Instagram or another social network with a hashtag (for example) # scriptquestcloud, #questplanetaingland

For completing this quest, players get a maximum of 4 points ( at the discretion of the presenter).

Task number 4

Dexterity challenge. The task is simple and is carried out (and evaluated) by the presenter: say the phrase and at the same time throw and catch balls (tennis).

  • “Whether the weather be fine
  • Whether the weather be cold
  • Or whether the weather be not.
  • We will walk together.
  • Whatever the weather
  • Whether we like it or not. "

After the leader's assessment, the players receive points from 1 to 5. And they form a word from the letters on the balls (players can receive additional points) " courage "- courage.

Task number 5

All players are waiting for the back of the courage. The players (the whole team) are blindfolded. They need to stick their hand in certain four niches. Your choice: vase, bank, hole, hat. After that, grope there (inside) the object and describe it in English words, and other team members must guess it and fill in the empty cells in the quest list.

The difficulty and specificity lies in the fact that, in addition to the description, the players have to stick their hand into different vessels with “disgusting contents(tactile) ”. An example of filling vessels with "abominations": a vessel with insects (toy), a vessel with plush or hair, a vessel with rice, a vessel with a slug, a vessel with Lego or water.

Descriptive subjects(popular words):

  • asterisk (toy)
  • book or plastic fork
  • ring
  • glasses, stone (flower)

Note: vessels or boxes are located on the table.

For a heightened WOW effect, at the time of the passage of the courage task, it is worth using local sounds (from the speaker) from "horror / horror films".

Safety precautions: it is advisable to use plastic containers so that they do not break and there is no damage from fragments.

Conclusion

Players go to the school board. The result of the players is recorded by the host, after which they leave the quest area.

Congratulations from the host!

Vadim Suslov. I hope my article was helpful! You can also order my book "Quest" - in it you will find all the answers to your questions regarding quests. If you have any questions, please email me ( [email protected]) or search VKontakte: https://vk.com/the_tastyfood. My site: www.quest-cloud.biz

It is believed that organizing quests requires, first of all, imagination, logic and
creative thinking. Without this, there really is nowhere. But it is worth remembering that in order
in order to get a good result in the end, it will take more than one day of fruitful
work, creative team and help from professional organizers.
Below are the basic tips for those who decided to create a quest on their own.

1. Select a location. Remember that if it is a public park or
crowded place, that is, there is a possibility that your idea may be violated, even
realizing this. For example, a hint that you hid in a tree might be
easily carry away the wind or people passing by.
Tip: it is best to use enclosed spaces, be it an apartment, garage
or a personal account in the office. The main thing is that access to it has a minimum
the number of strangers.

2. Take the trouble to create a script that is interesting. In the subject of the same
you are not limited - choose your favorite book, cartoon, TV series or
develop your idea. Make it interesting for all participants.
Tip: When choosing assignments, remember who they are primarily targeted at.
Do not let kids solve complex problems, and ask adults to sort
balls by color

3. Time planning. You need to know how long your
quest. This shouldn't be a 5-10 minute activity, but it's not worth it.
allocate all day.
Advice: you do not need to load the quest with a large number of lengthy tasks, because,
as a rule, participants get bored very quickly.

4. Interesting props. Remember that you will need to play with that topic, according to
which will be a quest and any little thing will help create an unusual atmosphere and
completely transfer the participants to another world.
Tip: you don't have to buy expensive decor items. See what you have
lying around in the closet, garage, seek help from loved ones, walk around
markets.

5. Take your friends as helpers. Though alone you can handle everyone
things that will fall on you during the preparation of the quest, but there is much
it will be more pleasant to share all tasks between your team.
Tip: remember that not only friends can help, but also grandparents who
know a lot of games, tasks from their childhood.

6. Don't forget about small gifts. You have no limits in this. Not
it is important that it will be: sweets, symbolic surprises, certificates or
certificates.
Tip: the main thing that your participants should receive is unforgettable emotions and
impressions.

7. Get the help of specialists. Even if you decide on your own
to prepare and organize the quest, do not forget to look into
professional quest rooms where you can see and understand everything on
own experience. And this can be done at the address: st. Heroes of Labor, 7, SEC
"Caravan", 2nd floor.
Tip: Or give us a call and we will be happy to make all your dreams come true.
reality.

My memories from childhood + imagination was enough for exactly one quest: a dozen tasks that are not duplicated.
But the children liked the fun, they asked for more quests and had to go online.
This article will not describe the scenario, legends, design. But there will be 13 ciphers to encode the quest tasks.

Code number 1. Picture

A drawing or photo that directly indicates the place where the next clue is hidden, or a hint of it: broom + socket = vacuum cleaner
Complication: make a puzzle by cutting the photo into several pieces.

Code 2. Leapfrog.

Swap the letters in the word: SOFA = NIDAV

Code 3. Greek alphabet.

Encode the message with the letters of the Greek alphabet, and give the children the key:

Code 4. On the contrary.

Write the task backwards:

  • every word:
    Etischi dalk dop yonos
  • or the whole sentence, or even a paragraph:
with all morkom momas in itup monrev an yv

Code 5. Mirror.

(when I was doing the quest for my children, at the very beginning I gave them a "magic bag": there was a key to the "Greek alphabet", a mirror, "windows", pens and sheets of paper, and all kinds of unnecessary stuff for confusion. , they had to figure out for themselves which of the bag would help them find the answer)

Code 6. Rebus.

The word is encoded in pictures:

Code 7. Next letter.

We write a word, replacing all the letters in it with the next alphabetically (then I is replaced by A, in a circle). Or the previous ones, or the next ones after 5 letters :).

CABINET = SHLBH

Code 8. Classics to help.

I took a poem (and told the children which one it was) and a 2-digit code: line number number letter in a line.

Example:

Pushkin "Winter Evening"

The storm covers the sky with darkness,
Whirling snow whirlwinds;
How a beast she will howl
It will cry like a child
Then on the dilapidated roof
Suddenly it will rustle with straw,
How a belated traveler
He will knock at our window.

21 44 36 32 82 82 44 33 12 23 82 28

read where is the clue? :)

Code 9. Dungeon.

Enter the letters in the 3x3 lattice:

Then the word WINDOW is encrypted like this:

Code 10. Labyrinth.

My children liked this cipher, it is unlike the others, because it is not so much for the brain as for attention.

So:

on a long thread / rope, hook the letters in order, as they go in the word. Then stretch the rope, twist it and in every possible way entangle it between the supports (trees, legs, etc.). Walking along the thread, like a labyrinth, from the 1st letter to the last, the children recognize the clue word.

Imagine if you wrap one of the adult guests in this way!
Children are reading - The next clue is on Uncle Vasya.
And they run to feel Uncle Vasya. Eh, if he is also afraid of tickling, then everyone will have fun!

Code 11. Invisible ink.

Use a wax candle to write the word. If you paint over the sheet with watercolors, then you can read it.
(there are other invisible ink .. milk, lemon, something else .. But I only had a candle in my house :))

Code 12. Rubbish.

The vowels remain unchanged, and the consonants change according to the key.
for example:
OVEK SCHOMOZKO
reads like - VERY COLD if you know the key:
D L X N H
Z M Sh K V

Code 13. Windows.

The children liked it incredibly! Then they encrypted messages to each other with these windows all day.
So: on one sheet we cut out windows, as many as there are letters in the word. This is a stencil, we apply it to a blank sheet and write a hint word "in the windows". Then we remove the stencil and write many different other unnecessary letters on the remaining blank area of the sheet. You can read the code if you attach a stencil with windows.
The children first fell into a stupor when they found a sheet of paper with letters. Then they twisted the stencil back and forth, it also needs to be applied with the right side!

Code 14. Card, Billy!

Draw a map and mark (X) the location with the treasure.
When I did my quest for the first time, I decided that the map is very easy for them, so I need to make it more mysterious (later it turned out that the children would have had enough just a map to get confused and run in the opposite direction) ...

This is a diagram of our street. Hints here - house numbers (to understand that this is our street in general) and husky. Such a dog lives with a neighbor opposite.
The children did not immediately recognize the area, they asked me leading questions ..
Then 14 children participated in the quest, so I combined them into 3 teams. They had 3 variants of this map and each one has its own place marked. As a result, each team found one word at a time:
"SHOW" "FAIRY TALE" "REPKA"
This was the next task :). After him, there were hilarious photos!
On the 9th birthday of my son, there was no time to invent a quest and I bought it on the MasterFuns website .. At my own peril and risk, because the description there is not very good.
But my children and I liked it, because:
  1. inexpensive (analogue somewhere around 4 dollars per set)
  2. quickly (paid - downloaded-printed - 15-20 minutes for everything)
  3. there are a lot of tasks, with a margin. Although I didn't like all the riddles, there was plenty to choose from, and you could write your task
  4. everything is decorated in one, monster style, and this gives the holiday an effect. In addition to the quest tasks themselves, the kit includes: a postcard, flags, table decorations, invitations to guests. And all in monsters! :)
  5. besides the 9-year-old birthday boy and his friends, I also have a 5-year-old daughter. She couldn't do the tasks, but she and her friend also found entertainment - 2 games with monsters, which were also in the set. Fuh, in the end - everyone is happy!

First, let's separate the flies and cutlets. I want you to immediately understand for what type of quests tasks are collected here.

The type of quests for which these tasks are suitable

In total, there are 5 types of quests (my selection is only for the latter):

  • Quest rooms. There, the props are built into the walls and partly laid out on pieces of furniture and on the floor. Participants move from one room to another and solve a chain of puzzles.
  • Off-site quests. These presenters bring a lot of props to your home, office, loft, dacha, school, entertainment center or the nearest park and conduct an interesting themed game with a plot. Props are complex and expensive (often made to order or purchased on special sites). ... Here .
  • Banquet quest. Everyone is sitting at the tables, the actors are showing fragments of the play, assistants are carrying the props. Guests are active participants in what is happening. ...
  • Adventure quest. You can walk around the museum, city, park, estate, recreation center. Ride a special bus, bicycle or even a jeep on a difficult route outside the city. The participants have a map, a goal, and a chain of difficult challenges. As artifacts - museum exhibits, monuments, plaques on houses, stucco moldings, statues, drawings on wrought-iron gates and fences, graffiti and even advertising banners. ...
  • Home paper quest. This is my personal name. The point is that participants receive all tasks in the form of letters, notes, scrolls, SMS. Such a game can be invented and conducted by parents or teachers themselves, using the most common household items: books, balloons, kitchen utensils, boxes, chess, souvenirs, furniture, household appliances, toys, etc.

How to use these quest examples

These ideas are for creative people. Such people read the description of the quest task, and suddenly come up with something completely new. They do not just change words and pictures, but make up a new puzzle that suddenly "flies" into the head. Even the book is “Steal like an artist”. Look for the old, make your own arrangement, create a new one, letting the experience of your predecessors pass through yourself.

The cheat sheet contains examples of collective gathering and my personal arrangements. Use, inspire, create.

Let me remind you that all this is suitable for those who conduct quests for their children or students. For professional presenters, there is also something useful, but you need to use real game props.

Plot and mechanics

I'll try very briefly. You can't just give kids one puzzle after another. It is necessary to come up with or borrow from literature or cinema a ready-made plot and main characters, determine the goal, think over the obstacles on the way to this goal. And all these tasks will be needed to overcome these obstacles (game mechanics).

Well, for example, the fairy tale "Kolobok". For a happy ending, Kolobok needs to collect some tips from each character. It's just that the Hare, the Wolf and the Bear do not give anything. You need to solve their tasks at each stage of the game, get a letter, and add a password word from letters. Hearing this word, Lisa will apologize for her predatory thoughts and take Kolobok back to his grandmother and grandfather.

This is a primitive example, of course. The topic can be anything. I already have themes, "The Mysteries of the Egyptian Princess",.

There are also several scenarios from readers of the site with quest tasks in the apartment and outdoors. Using these examples, you can see how individual tasks fit into the plot.

Where to hide the next tips and tasks

In other words, I will list briefly WHAT SPECIFIC WORDS we will encrypt most often. You can, of course, just tell the children that somewhere in the room is hidden the key to the chest with gifts, and they will ransack the whole room for you. The essence of the quest is to alternately guess the places where new passwords, scrolls, items are hidden.

These places are:

Furniture (the answer to the riddle should be: table, armchair, chest of drawers, window, etc.)
sofa cushions
household appliances (microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, bread maker, oven, etc.)
"Under the carpet"
interior items (vases, boxes, boxes, chests, paintings, etc.)
magnets and souvenirs from different countries on which the name of the city is written
multivolume collected works (guess the volume number and pick up the clue there)
mailbox (it is insanely reckless to go down to the first floor and open your mailbox with a key when it comes to the last clue about gifts)
suitcases and briefcases with combination locks

Other caches can be as follows:

A bottle (even if it floats in a bathtub than the sea)
balloons (they need to burst, of course)
ice figures (in the New Year's quest I froze water in rubber gloves and balls, it turned out a whole basin of ice blocks of various shapes. For the sake of getting a clue, the children defrost all this under the tap in the sink)
a box of sand in which you need to find small items
wrapped candy
cookies with tips / predictions (here's the recipe on my website)
cans for storing bulk products
pots with live plants
dishes on the festive table (you can attach a hint to the bottom of the plates)

Quest tasks

1. Composing a word from individual letters

  • letters can be found one at a time, as in my quest "Night at the Museum", then they can be used to compose the final word and find gifts
  • write letters on disposable cups that are on the holiday table
  • the word can be composed of letters written with a marker on balloons
  • bury the plastic letters in the sand, children love digging (I use a magnetic alphabet)
  • freeze letters in ice cube trays
  • write letters on fish with magnets (ready-made children's game "Fishing"), let them catch and make up a word

2. Puzzles

  • make a gift search map from pieces
  • compose portraits of famous personalities from 4 fragments (we cut the faces with strips, as for drawing up a composite sketch)
  • on the cut picture, you can write a riddle (the answer is another place with a hint: a sofa, a vase, etc.)
  • the puzzle pieces may contain a lock code or a phone number that your assistants can use to give a hint
  • ordinary puzzles for 30-50 fragments can be added to two teams for speed (fight for an additional prize or hint)

4. Attentive counting

  • in the scenario of the quest "Night at the Museum" I suggested counting stacks of coins in order to guess the phone number
  • you can count the same objects in the picture in your room
  • steps in the house
  • windows in the building opposite
  • books on the shelf
  • divide the badoy and red beans into piles and count how many beans of one color are more than the other ("Quest for Princesses")
  • how many soft toys are in the basket
  • add up all the numbers that write the birthday of the birthday person (09/02/2009 = 22)
  • count the number of letters in the name and surname of the birthday person, etc.

All these numbers may be needed to guess the password for the lock, for example. Or the guessed number will be written in a conspicuous place on the piece of furniture with the next clue.

5. QR codes

This, of course, is not a task for a quest, but one of the ways to obtain information, but children usually like it. Through a special application in your smartphone, you can encrypt any picture or note with prompts. Where to attach the printed QR code? On the inner surface of the cabinet door, under a plate, for a souvenir or toy, put in a book, etc.

6. Puzzles, charades, crosswords

It makes no sense to give many examples, you will pick up on the Internet on the topic of your quest or create your puzzles in the image and likeness. Here is a simple example in which the word is encrypted "painting"... As symbols - the edges of the "lattice" around the desired letter.

There is especially a lot of such goodness in old Soviet books and schoolchildren's calendars. For those who want to find something really interesting, I recommend going to the library. With charades and crosswords, it is convenient to select the intellectual load according to age. In the same topic, you can come up with quest tasks for teenagers, adults and children from 6 to 10 years old.

7. Mirrored text

We compose the necessary phrase, which is difficult to read without a mirror. You can also pay attention to the search for the mirror itself by making it up with the help of the previous puzzle.

To complicate the task, type the text in an unusual ornate font, otherwise the players will easily turn the letters over without any mirror.

8. Anagrams

These are examples for inspiration. Simply, only at first glance, since even adults sometimes take a long time to compose another word from the letters of one word. If the quest is a team one, time the time and reward the smartest with additional points, prizes or tips. The composed word can become the password for the next puzzle.

9. What is hidden in the picture

There are a lot of such mindfulness riddles of varying complexity on the Internet. On the left is an example of a puzzle for toddlers, on the right - for teenagers: "How many animals are there?"

There are also interesting collections with the general title "What is hidden in the photo."

10. We designate the name of the fairy tale (film, song) with emoticons

Difficult enough, but fun. There are not so many emoticons, so you need to call on all your imagination to help. All pictures can be omitted, children will get tired. So encrypt the book with the fairy tale in which the next clue lies. And in the picture something like this: "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish", "Ruslan and Lyudmila", "The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Heroes", "The Princess and the Pea", "The Frog Princess", "Mumu" (possibly), " Star Rain "," Snow Maiden "," Hare's hut "," Ivan Tsarevich and the Serpent "," Porridge from an ax "," Pot of porridge "," Boy-with-finger "," Wolf and seven kids "," Rapunzel ", "Cockerel and a bean seed."

11. Invisible ink

To be honest, I haven't been writing notes with milk and lemon juice for a long time. No time)). Now on sale there are pens with invisible ink and a special flashlight. I write letters and messages to children on mirrors, furniture, in ordinary letters. Sometimes even on their own son (they covered his hands and feet with tips and drawings).

So, right now, I wrote the name of my website on my hand and shone it with a flashlight. Without a UV flashlight, no letters are visible! By the way, you can draw one letter on each guest before starting the quest, then collect the final word.

12. Ciphers

Where without ciphers. Here are the most popular (pictures are on the Internet)

  • dancing men (thanks to Sherlock Holmes)
  • morse code
  • numerical cipher (each letter is assigned a number)
  • semaphore and flags alphabet
  • symbols
  • homemade ciphers (different pictures of mustaches, toys, food, cosmetics - all images are assigned a letter)

The semaphore alphabet can be shown (one team member shows everyone else the encrypted word). Son, thanks for your help!))

Long phrases are difficult for children to decipher. Maximum 3 words of 3-5 letters. This is enough to inform the location of the next clue.

13. Labyrinths

The maze can be drawn. Something confusing must be unraveled along the lines or walked along the "corridors" without dead ends. I sometimes distribute a printed maze to each quest participant. Who is the first - he opens the combination lock and takes out gifts, otherwise there will be heated debates)).

There are parents who are not too lazy to make a rope maze. Ropes of different colors are laid out on the floor in the apartment or stretched between trees in the country. Everyone chooses their own color and walks along the line. A clue is tied to the end of one of the ropes. You can also get to the goal (gift, key, next scroll) between the ropes stretched at different heights between the trees.

14. Excavation

This is definitely a pleasant experience! This picture was sent by my reader (check it all). She spent a month collecting chicken bones for excavations! The skull, however, is plastic. I repeated her idea, but buried many small toys from kinder surprises in a bowl of sand. Duplicate figures needed to be set aside, one unique was the clue.

Instead of sand, you can rummage in semolina, rice, salt and buckwheat.

15. Puzzle with matches

Most often, large fireplace matches or counting sticks are used for this purpose. There are very simple tasks, there are those over which adults rack their brains. Here is an example from my "Haunted Bunker" quest. Arrange one match so that the answer is still correct.

16. Puzzle with buttons

Here, instead of buttons, there can be any figurines, which is really needed there on the topic of the quest. Bugs, mummies, angry dogs. The bottom line is that you need to divide the figures with four lines so that there is one in each cell.

Speed challenge, the fastest gets extra points, hints or privileges.

17. Classic puzzles

Let me remind you what it is. The rules are always the same, it's easy to guess. The commas before the picture show how many letters need to be removed at the beginning of the word, the commas after the picture are the letters to fly out at the end of the word. The equal sign indicates which letter in the word should be replaced with another.

On six pictures, the words are encrypted: lemon, capital, stork, student, gift, queen. The Internet is full of such puzzles, embed them into your quest taking into account the plot.

18. Encrypted poem

First digit Is the line number at the top.

Second digit- the ordinal number of the word on this line.

Do you also feel a lack of live communication and real emotions? Every day more and more moms and dads ask themselves the question: how to develop logic in a child? How to interest and how to tear the family away from the phones? What kind of entertainment can provide the development of logical thinking in an interesting format?

And then it occurs to many to organize a home quest! What is a quest?

A quest is a sequence of interesting tasks and puzzles that lead to some goal, for example, finding a treasure. Quests are "candy for the mind", games that develop logic. At the same time, if we offer children riddles for a quest at home or, for example, in the country, then we get a real adventure in reality. Down with phones! Quest in reality is very modern, fun and unusual. If you do not know how to carry out the quest, then you have come to the right place. Below you will learn how to develop logic and thinking while having a great time!

So, right now you will learn how to make a quest for children and adults at home.

  1. Choosing a gift.

Before coming up with a quest, you need to prepare a “treasure”. This is some kind of surprise that the seekers will find at the end of the quest. Pick something symbolic, such as your favorite chocolate bar, kinder, new typewriter, or a set of markers. If this is a quest for a child at home, then the gift can be a homemade certificate that gives the child a special right to something interesting, for example, "Certificate for a trip to Igroland" or "Certificate for visiting McDonald's." A symbolic chocolate bar or a bottle of delicious beer can also become a gift for adult players - whoever likes it. And if this is, for example, a quest on the birthday of a loved one, then in the final he can find YOU, in the appropriate outfit :)

  1. Determine the scale of the quest.

There can be many options for conducting a quest. Option "micro" - on the scale of one room. Classic is the whole apartment or house. If you live in a private house, then you can perfectly play the game inside and in the yard. If in a multi-storey building, then the courtyard and several neighboring courtyards will also perfectly fit into the scenario. So, you need to decide if your players will leave the house and how far away from it.

  1. Coming up with a script.

First, find the places for the hiding places. The caches will contain paper clues. Seat options:

  • in the pocket of a coat hanging in the closet;
  • in a boot;
  • in a glove on a shelf;
  • in an empty sugar bowl in a sideboard;
  • in the bread box;
  • in old chess or backgammon;
  • in the book;
  • under the carpet;
  • in a cosmetic bag;
  • in a hamster's cage;
  • at the entrance;
  • in the mailbox;
  • in the leaves of a bush near the house;
  • in the flowerbed.

Try to find caches in which players will not accidentally find a clue, so as not to disrupt your scenario.

Write these places down in order, the last will be the place where the "treasure" is hidden.

The treasure hiding place should be the most reliable! Either you know for sure that the players will not look there in advance, or during the game the gift is not there and you will put it there on the penultimate task.

For a home quest, 10-15 hints will be enough.

When arranging a quest at home, choose the scenario according to the occasion. You can make a quest for a specific theme or just a set of riddles.

What are the options for thematic quests:

  • Themed birthday quest can be dedicated to the birthday person, and then all the riddles will be about him.
  • The Valentine's Day or Anniversary quest is based on shared dates and events.
  • A New Year's quest can be done on the topic of wishes, predictions and gifts.
  • A weekend quest, when you just wanted to arrange a family adventure, can be done in a pirate theme, in the format of a detective, in the format of your child's favorite cartoon.
  1. We do tasks and tips.

Take a few sheets of colored cardboard and cut them into rectangles about 10 x 7 cm each. Number the clues, then even if some are found earlier, it will not spoil the script.

What to write on the tips?

The easiest way is to draw and write by hand a simple riddle about the hiding place where the clue is hidden. For example:

Attention! Develop logic and thinking with a home quest!

It's simple - offer the players not a direct hint, but a rebus. The clearest example is the map!

How to make a quest card:

  1. Write or draw on sticky notes some designation, for example: BLUE MOUNTAIN, ICE LAKE, DARK CAVE, etc.
  2. Stick the leaves on interior items - sofa, wardrobe, vase ...
  3. Draw a map similar to your apartment, but in the place of the sofa there will be, for example, a lake, and in the place of the cabinet there will be a mountain. Mark the location of the cache on the map.

The riddle is ready!

Many parents are worried about how to develop logic and imagination in children of primary school age. A quest for schoolchildren may contain tasks that a child reluctantly performs in everyday life, but in a game format he will be much more loyal to annoying numbers and rules.
