Games like fallout 1. Games that are similar to Fallout

Fallout- one of the most unique games games I've ever played, it was very hard to do anything in my free time after finishing this game.

Now, of course, there are other Fallouts to choose from: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4.

Undoubtedly, the game is good, but sometimes you want variety with a similar plot. It was difficult to create this list, but nevertheless we found 14 games similar to Fallout 4.

So, let's begin!

14. Borderlands

Borderlands is one of the greatest games of all time and has 90% of the same elements as Fallout... And honestly, I think this game is better than Fallout.

Borderlands is much faster with all the same systems. The only real difference is game process and a different ranking system that doesn't include as many specific things, plus there's not a lot of communication and communication with random people that will take time.

13. Far Cry 3-4

I placed it next to Borderlands Far Cry because they are very similar. Far Cry has an exciting story, an amazing map, and ways to level up your character.

How is this game different? There are better gameplay mechanics (my opinion) and no looting. You go to war with people, and thereby increase the level.

If you're looking for an open world shooter game with a great story, a ton of stuff to do, and great multiplayer, this is a must play.

12. Rage

Rage– the child of Borderlands, Far Cry and Fall Out.

The game features an open map, tons of weird zombies to kill, and a story to take over the world.

There's amazing driving here, all in this crazy post-apocalyptic world where there are no rules and it's every man for himself.

11. Metro

The game is very close to the original both in history and in gameplay on the list.

Metro is a post-apocalyptic tricky first-person shooter where the world has been destroyed by a cataclysmic event that almost wipes out everyone.

To survive, people must go to the subway and start there new world, but you need to go out and find supplies, people, etc. Some terrible things await you.

10. Mass Effect

Yes! The games just keep getting better and better!

If you want a game that includes the FallOut RPG feel with customization, leveling, and story reflection, Mass Effect will conquer you.

The game is filled with fights and alien killings. Aliens are trying to take over the world and you will have to fight smart, use your skills and time it to save the world and become a HERO!!!

I think this is one of the richest and most well-formed stories ever, and the RPG system is second to none.

9. Mad Max

Do you like cars? Killing people? Open world maps? If the answer is yes, then you should take part in the game Mad Max.

What kind of game is it? You're in a post-apocalyptic world and the first mission is to survive, which basically means killing everyone.

The graphics in this game are intense and the map is like nothing I have ever seen. Plus - amazing storms, amazing story, lots of missions and action! Lots of action!

8. BioShock

One of best games RPG, FPS based on history.

BioShock is one of the most creative games on the list, in this version you will fight in the sky to save a girl who is trapped. The missions are incredible, the graphics are amazing and the story is out of this world.

7. S.T.A.L.K.E.R

This game is a little older, but not inferior to the others.

Now STALKER is a strong game based in a post-apocalyptic world similar to most of these games. He has rich history, taking place after the explosion of a nuclear reactor in Chernobyl, and you need to go and see why 5 army helicopters have gone missing, while having to confront groups of stalkers.

6. The Last Of Us

A pure combination of unknown gameplay with elements of survival and being in the league. One of the most action-packed games I've ever seen. The game is unique, but is intended only for consoles.

5. 7 Days To Die

I'll be completely honest with you 7 Days To Die- This is a great game, but you need to play with friends. I played it alone, it's almost impossible, and not surprising. You need at least one friend to help you get resources and build an epic base.

Basically you are in an open world, zombies have taken over and your job is to survive as long as you can. You need to build a reliable base, hide from the zombie horde and get weapons... Lots of weapons.

4.Miscreated

Miscreated– multiplayer hardcore survival games. There are robberies, zombies, people trying to kill you and a lot of creepy exploration.

The game is not very similar to FallOut, but people who are fans of Fallout will find it a pretty good project (my opinion).

Another game that needs to be played with several companions while you explore, drive and hunt the living dead and other players.

3. We Happy Few

One of the most amazing concepts in history, We Happy Few has a gangsta story arc that basically takes you to a world where everyone has to take a lucky drug to live.

You decided not to take it, see the world as it really is, and then have all these psychologists try the drug and try to track you down.

2. Skyrim

One of the most epic RPGs you can buy. With a giant map, amazing storyline, quests, houses, weapons, and game mechanics, there's no surprise why this is one of the best games I've played.

Here you will find looting, ranking, exploring and a gorgeous open world.

1. Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed has been around for a long time, the story kept me excited while the hidden gameplay increased my desire to play.

The game with its own plot and gameplay is a lot of fun.

Once you complete the tutorial, you will be taken to another location, which is not much different from the previous one. To survive in it you will have to join one of the gangs. To quickly get rich in this territory you will have to rob travelers and ordinary farmers. Well, if you don’t like this location, you can always go to the Central part of Africa, where local sheriffs keep order and more or less everyone follows the laws. Otherwise, you won't live long, as your brains will simply be blown out. For those who crave adventures in which they can make good money, there are deserted deserts, but without good equipment you are unlikely to cope with the local animals and mutants. In general, this game is one continuous PvP, since you can be killed almost anywhere. As for leveling up, mechanics reign here, just like in Fallout: New Vegas. That is, you will also receive action points, which are needed to improve accuracy, strength, number of cartridges, etc. So if you were looking for something like Fallout, you will definitely like this game.

To survive here you will have to join one of six factions. All of them, of course, differ in their worldview and main goals, so think carefully before joining. As for PvP, it mainly takes place in special zones with the participation of many players. In addition to this, they are waiting for you exciting tasks, in which you will have to learn how to infiltrate other gangs, learn to reveal sinister secrets, and also save a couple of losers. So if you like games like Fallout, where you will be met by wild mutants and no less bloodthirsty other players, do not waste time, but download “Fallen Earth” right now.

3. "Soldiers of Anarchy"

In this online game you will go to the future, which can hardly be called good. From the very first minutes of the game you will understand that you are surrounded by chaos and destruction, as humanity tries to survive by any means necessary. Unsurprisingly, they are confronted by their worst enemy - themselves. So you will have to take matters into your own hands in order to reason with them and guide them towards Right way. You will control a small group of survivors who managed to save common sense, despite the general chaos. Since this is a strategy, you will have to show all your strategic and tactical abilities to survive against merciless opponents. A fascinating story awaits you, after learning which you will understand what happened to humanity. To survive, of course, you will need weapons, and here you will have plenty to choose from, as you will have the latest models at your disposal. Even though you have a deadly weapon in your hands, you should not underestimate the enemy, as you can pay for it with your life.

4. Wasteland 2

This is another Fallout-type game that features perfectly designed turn-based combat. In this online game you will plunge into a fascinating post-apocalyptic story that will tell you about the difficult fate of the whole world. Deserts, destroyed settlements, crowds of mutants and bandits await you. Since this is a turn-based game, you will have to show all your strategic abilities, because not every battle will allow you to go ahead. Also, leveling up your character is responsible for the outcome of the battle, since in order to save humanity from imminent death, you need to raise a real hero who has not only rough physical strength, but also other parameters. As the game progresses, you will be joined by other characters who will share your judgment and will be happy to help you. So you will have to upgrade not one, but several heroes at once, so that they complement each other.

5. "Ground Zero: The Beginning of a New World"

In this game you can see what will happen to humanity if a nuclear war occurs. Deserts await you dead cities in which you will be met not by civilians, but by bloodthirsty mutants. On your way, of course, you will come across people, but you can hardly call them that, because for a piece of bread they will be ready to tear you apart. The main values in this wild world will be food, water and weapons. So as the game progresses, you will have to assemble a team that specializes in different professions, since you are too easy prey alone. In this game you will have access to more than two hundred types of weapons, armor, food and various items. As the game progresses, you will visit destroyed cities, abandoned parking lots, industrial areas and much more. And, of course, bloody battles for your life await you in every location. To give the game some spice, day will give way to night, and weather conditions can become your faithful ally, because when it rains it’s easier to get rid of your pursuers. You can also learn different professions to assemble the perfect team to save innocent civilians or kill marauders.

  4. Metro 2033
  5. BioShock 2
  6. Gothic 3
  7. Neverwinter Nights 2

Metro: Last Light is a sequel original game Metro 2033. In it, Artem, the protagonist of the original game and book, again takes the stage in order to protect the metro from new threat. After destroying the black hive, Artyom realizes that he did it completely in vain, and is now looking for the last surviving black one in order to save him from radical people. For this, Artyom will go through fire, water, copper pipes, plague stations on the Red Line, visit Red Square and descend into the very depths of the gloomy Moscow metro, which at the same time allows people to survive after the apocalypse, and is their very real grave.

Players will have access to completely new locations both in the metro and on the surface of destroyed Moscow, walk through completely new stations and get to know the life of people who are trying to live after the apocalypse. New types of weapons will also fall into Artyom’s hands, and the updated bestiary of mutants, of course, will try to feed him. As the game progresses, Artyom's actions can lead to one of two endings, one of which, as in the case of Metro 2033, is false.

Fallout: New Vegas is the fourth part of the cult Fallout series, the plot of which takes players to the post-nuclear city of Las Vegas, now called New Vegas. Main character- not a resident of the Vault, but a simple courier who fulfills a certain order for the delivery of a strange parcel. Halfway to the meeting point, the courier meets strange people who shoot him in the back, taking away the package in the process. A robot that accidentally finds the hero takes him to a doctor, who gets the protagonist back on his feet, giving him a Pip-Boy as a parting gift. From this moment on, the former courier, driven by his own interests, sets out on the path of a fighter who wants to find out the truth about what was in that package and who put the bullet in him.

Meanwhile, in the vastness of the Mojave Wasteland, a war is raging between Caesar's Legion - slave owners, and the New California Republic, as well as the Brotherhood of Steel - all three groups have their own views on the dam and hydroelectric power station near the city, and no one is going to retreat. The player will have to make a number of fateful decisions on which the continued existence of Vegas, the inhabitants of the Mojave Wasteland and many other issues depend. In addition to warring factions, the player's path will be blocked by mutants, crazy robots and great amount simply crazy people who rob everyone they can.

Compared to Fallout 3, New Vegas received much richer opportunities for character customization - for example, “traits” returned, special skills that give both pros and cons, and which can only be obtained at the start of the game. Also, during his exploration of the Wasteland, the player is free to acquire special implants that increase his characteristics. New Vegas also pays tribute to the previous parts of the series - the game has a huge number of references and direct references to the original duology.

Metro 2033 is an adventure shooter in a post-apocalyptic setting, which is based on the novel of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The scene is Moscow, where human life barely glimmers in the metro tunnels, where stations have turned into small states with different political regimes, and ugly mutants live on the surface. The main character of the game, a young man named Artem from the VDNKh station, receives an important task - to get to the so-called Polis, once the largest transport hub of the metro, as soon as possible, and ask the inhabitants of Polis for help in the fight against extremely aggressive mutants who are advancing on VDNKh from the north . Artyom, guided only by the hope of help from his native station, embarks on a long and dangerous journey to save your friends.

The gameplay of the game is a first-person action game in which the player will have to use ammo sparingly, monitor the time and integrity of the gas mask, and also try to study the habits of monsters. Ammo in the game, by the way, serves as money - you can buy various items with them. The game also features an impressive arsenal of weapons - from classic shotguns and rifles to air guns and crossbows, which help in the fight against opponents no worse than their firearm counterparts.

The graphics in the game, despite being cross-platform, are made in top level- the smallest particles of dust, dynamic lighting, and a pleasant gas graphics engine make the game extremely atmospheric and even scary - because there are very few light sources in the game, and you will spend most of the time in pitch darkness, illuminated only by the light of your small flashlight.

BioShock 2 is a continuation of the fantastic action game, which takes place in the underwater city of Rapture. The events of the second part take place 10 years after the events of the original game. The gameplay and progression scheme, for the most part, remained unchanged: armed with weapons and plasmids, the main character - the first Big Daddy of all - will have to deal with numerous hordes of nightmarish monsters, making his way deep into Rapture and gradually revealing the most frightening secrets of the city.

The second part is an improved version of the first - for example, from now on players do not need to constantly switch between weapons and plasmids - they can be used simultaneously, without being distracted by the choice. Additionally, every weapon and plasmid now has upgrades. In addition, the main character's arsenal has changed a little. Otherwise, the gameplay remains unchanged.

Also in the second part, a multiplayer competitive mode appeared, the plot of which is a kind of prequel to the original, the events of which unfold around the conflict that occurred during the era of the fall of Rapture, when psychosis began to spread among the population of the city, leading to the appearance of splicers.

Fallout 3: Point Lookout is the fourth expansion and will introduce players to a new area - the Wasteland, a bleak, swampy area located along the coast of Maryland. The expansion begins with a radio signal received from a strange, mutated fruit merchant named Tobar the Ferryman.

Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage is the first DLC for Fallout 3, dedicated to the virtual reality simulator found in the Wasteland, in which players will have to survive the attack American army to Anchorage captured by the Chinese in order to liberate the latter. The addition increases the maximum character level by 5, and also introduces several new types of armor and weapons.

Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta is the fifth addition to Fallout 3. The player will try on the role of a person abducted by aliens. The main task is to find the captain's bridge and return back to Earth. To do this, you need to unite with other people and fight your way through the belly of a huge spaceship.
The gameplay in Mothership Zeta is fairly straightforward and there isn't much to explore. This is clearly not the best addition, it is short and too focused on battles in the same type of corridors. Wandering around an alien ship is quite interesting, but this is not due to the advantages of the add-on, but rather due to strengths original game. Towards the end of the game, a couple of interesting episodes open up when you have to get out into space. There you can meet a lot of interesting characters, but even the new environment and enemies quickly get boring.
The expansion also includes a few new weapons, but the joy of finding them quickly wears off when you realize that the Alien Blaster (found on Earth) is superior to most of them.
There is a side quest in Mothership Zeta, during which we have to find a dozen tapes with rather interesting stories from prisoners who were here before us.
Completing Mothership Zeta takes only a few hours, after which you will say goodbye to the mother ship forever. This is one of the shortest additions to Fallout 3 and at the same time the most uninteresting.

Fallout 3: Broken Steel is the third addition to the original Fallout 3. This addition continues the plot of the game - the Brotherhood of Steel continues the confrontation against the Enclave after the completion of the main storyline of Fallout 3. Players find themselves in the Brotherhood of Steel hospital and receive offers to join the punitive operation against the remnants Enclave. Players will visit new locations, be able to get new unique weapons, and rise to the thirtieth level of development by learning new perks.

Fallout 3: The Pitt - the add-on takes place in Pittsburgh, around a raider settlement, which consists of two parts: the lower one for slaves and the upper one for other segments of the population. In addition to the main quests, there will be many side quests, as well as a new unique weapon - Auto Ax.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is a first-person role-playing shooter created by GSC Game World. The game is based on the cult work of the Strugatsky brothers "Roadside Picnic", from which the idea of the Zone, artifacts and stalkers who obtain them is taken. The main character, nicknamed Marked One, comes to his senses at the Zone Cordon, not remembering anything. Marked One will have to learn the secret about his past, as well as solve the riddle of Strelok - a mysterious stalker whom Marked One must kill, judging by the mark on his PDA.

The gameplay of the game is a first-person shooter in which players explore the vast open territory of the Anomalous Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, looking for mysterious artifacts in the anomalies, and selling them for impressive money. As they progress, players acquire new weapons, armor and artifacts, which allows them to break through to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, where the answers to all of Marked’s questions lie.

BioShock is an adventure first-person shooter from the creators of the cult System Shock. The game takes place in the mid-twentieth century, when the protagonist's plane suddenly crashes over the ocean. The main character manages to survive and notice a mysterious lighthouse, which became his salvation. This lighthouse leads to the underwater city of Rapture, which was originally created by geniuses for geniuses - scientists, doctors, and the cultural elite lived in Rapture, who gathered in Rapture in order to protect themselves from the “simplicity” of other inhabitants of the earth. However, the plan failed after a series of genetic experiments, during which people began to become monstrous maniacs, obsessed with a substance called "Adam", which gave them extraordinary powers.

The main character, who descended into Rapture, will have to find a way out, breaking through the hordes former people, who have now turned into bloodthirsty monsters. He is guided by a mysterious voice over the radio, who asks him to help him with some unresolved issues. The main character uses not only weapons, but also so-called “plasmids” - supernatural powers that are granted to the hero by an injection of “adam”. Making his way through a dilapidated utopian city, the main character will have to learn a lot of new things about the world around him, and even about himself.

Gothic 3 is a continuation of a series of classic role-playing games, the events of which are transferred from the distant island of Chronos to the mainland. Invading hordes of orcs have enslaved the kingdom of humans. The few who were able to maintain freedom are hiding in the waterless southern deserts and among the ice in the northern territories. A handful of rebels in the mountains and forests are trying to organize resistance to the enemy. Players are free to join one of many factions and personally take part in the war for the mainland on the side of either the invaders or the rebels.

The gameplay of the game was slightly changed - for example, the combat system was simplified, because the developers decided to abandon combined attacks. The main character can now wear two swords, a sword and a shield, as well as a helmet. The influence of guilds and factions on the game is noticeably weaker than in previous parts. In the end, depending on the actions of the players throughout the game, one of three different endings will be revealed.

Neverwinter Nights 2 offers players a deeper storyline (compared to the original), an original character development system, excellent graphics and a brilliantly implemented multiplayer mode. Wandering around amazing world, the hero gains experience and develops not only personal qualities, but is also gradually gaining political weight - over time, rising higher and higher on the class ladder of the world of Neverwinter. In addition to the original plot, the game has a convenient editor built into it - a set of tools with which you can create your own campaigns and new adventures.

Fallout 2 is a cult role-playing game, rightly considered one of the standards of the genre. The plot of Fallout 2 takes place in a world that has experienced a nuclear disaster. Most of humanity died, and the surviving people lost almost all their accumulated knowledge and are gradually returning to stone Age. The main character of the second part is the Chosen One, a descendant of the main character of the first part of Fallout, living in the village of Arroyo. The village elder sends the Chosen One to search for one of the technologies lost by people, called "GECK". They say that "GEKK" is capable of turning wastelands scorched by radiation into blooming gardens, so the whole tribe places their hopes on the Chosen One. He has a long journey ahead, full of dangers and unexpected discoveries. The game takes place in 2241, eight decades after the events of the original.

Fallout 2 is a role-playing game with a turn-based combat system and a huge world for the player to explore as they wish. In addition to the long and twisted storyline, Fallout 2 has a whole bunch of side quests and events, among which there are also frankly exotic ones, such as filming in pornographic films. The player is given a huge part to explore West Coast USA, where both old and new locations meet.

Fallout is a cult isometric role-playing game, the events of which unfold in a world that has experienced nuclear Armageddon. The plot of the game tells about the adventures of a Vault 13 Dweller, a resident of a special underground bunker, who was tasked with finding a chip for a water generator within 150 days and delivering it to his Vault in order to save an isolated community from a water shortage.

Fallout is made in the style of retrofuturism, and the game takes place in a radioactive wasteland that arose in the western part of the United States. A nuclear war in the Fallout universe has broken out between the United States and China over the last oil sources. Residents of a post-apocalyptic world have to put up with not only radiation, but also the products of a secret experimental technology for creating “superhumans” - super mutants. Some of the inhabitants of America were saved in the Shelters, each of which accommodated exactly a thousand people.

The game begins in 2161 and covers Southern California - but almost nothing is known about the fate of the rest of the world. The game begins in Vault 13, next to which are the village of Shady Sands and Vault 15. The player will have to visit all these locations to find the chip, as well as stop the threat of super mutants, who are gaining strength for an unknown purpose.

The first part, released in 1997 Fallout made a splash among fans of the RPG genre. They were waiting for her, they wanted her, they raved about her. Revolutionary role-playing system S.P.E.C.I.A.L. on long years set the trend in the gaming industry. And a huge post-apocalyptic world, with dozens of characters and hundreds of quests, completely immersed the player in the atmosphere of a hopeless future for humanity.

The second part of the series, as expected, surpassed the first project in popularity, despite the fact that the engine and gameplay have not undergone changes. Thanks to the expansion of the game world of the wasteland and careful development of the plot, the developers were admired until 2008 - that is, until the release.

The third part retained the core of the previous games, using the same role-playing system and epic surroundings. However, the gameplay has changed beyond recognition. Instead of the usual isometric 2D world, the developers presented a 3D first-person game. As Fallout fans themselves said: “We got great game, but not a very successful continuation."

The success of the Fallout series did not go unnoticed by other representatives of the industry, which gave rise to a number of quite successful imitators. So, what are they games similar to Fallout worthy of gamer respect? Who managed to come even one iota closer to the level of popularity of the legendary series?!

This game can rightfully be considered one of the most successful projects similar to Fallout. Just think, it only took Brian Fargo three days to collect the $900 thousand needed for development from loyal fans. A classic RPG with a non-linear plot and rather complex mechanics. An open post-nuclear world, raiders, mutants and radioactive deserts - all this emphasizes not only the continuation of Wasteland, but also has many similarities with the first parts of Fallout.

The similarity with the cult series is felt in almost everything. Can developers be accused of plagiarism? Hardly. After all, it was the first part of Wasteland, released back in 1988, that is called “ godfather post-nuclear post-apocalyptic RPGs." The ideas embodied in the first part are still relevant and appreciated by players to this day. Which, in fact, Brian Fargo and his team from the InXile Entertainment studio were able to prove.

The Fall: Last Days of Gaia

Released in 2004, The Fall: Last Days of Gaia, a mixture of tactical strategy and role-playing game, can easily be called the successor to Fallout. Thanks to colorful graphics, the developers managed to achieve maximum immersion of the player in the post-nuclear atmosphere. And the introduction of a crafting system into the game diversified the gameplay in the best possible way.

However, a large abundance of bugs, critical errors and crashes of this games similar to Fallout, almost canceled out all the efforts of the developers to create a unique product. So, only after the third official patch the game was brought to a more or less playable state. Therefore, before you venture into the wasteland, you should make sure that you have the necessary updates.

The turn-based RPG project Metalheart, made in a post-nuclear style, is not for nothing called an imitator of Fallout Tactics. The combat system, character development, and even the green circles for movement points remind players of Fallout every time. But at the same time, the developers were able to introduce several original ideas.

Thus, thanks to the implant system, you can increase the characteristics of the characters, as well as give them new abilities. Overall, the plot in Metalheart is linear, and sometimes embarrassingly banal. It is unlikely that the game will ever be able to reach the level of Fallout, but it is quite capable of providing a couple of hours of exciting gameplay.

Conclusions!

In general, compare a popular project with games similar to Fallout– it’s like arguing about the tastes of alcoholic drinks. We can only add that thanks to its pristine nature, ornate plot and unique atmosphere, the Fallout series of games will forever remain in the hearts of gamers.
