First Moscow State Medical University named after. Sechenov is one of the oldest universities in Russia, which turned 250 years old in 2008. On this moment, MSMU im. Sechenov is one of the largest complexes for training future doctors and pharmacists, as well as certification and advanced training of practicing specialists.
Structure of the University Sechenov
The university complex includes clinical center, where students do their internship. This center includes 5 clinics with 3,000 beds and 11 laboratories where the most advanced various tests. There is also a central clinical laboratory and 16 clinical diagnostic services. Therefore, about 44,000 patients can be treated here annually as inpatients, and 250,000 as outpatients. The clinical center also includes a clinic for employees and students of Moscow State Medical University, a scientific library, the collection of which includes more than a million different textbooks, as well as a museum of the history of the development of medicine.

What do you need to submit?

Also, do not forget that you can receive bonuses upon admission for individual achievements: gold medal, GTO badge, Olympiads, volunteer activities. Sechenov University provides additional points to graduates of medical classes, for this you need to successfully pass the pre-professional exam. You can get up to 10 points for individual achievements.
What documents need to be collected?
To enter the medical school you need to provide:
- application for admission (the form is most often available on the university website);
- passport or other identity document;

How to enter a medical university in the target field?
The easiest way to get into medical school is in the target area. Separate places on the budget are allocated for targeted students, and there is also a separate competition for enrollment.
To receive a referral, you must submit an application to the health department at your place of registration between March 1 and June 10. Deadlines may vary by region. The application must be accompanied by:
- a copy of your or your parents’ passport (if you are under 18 years old);
- characteristics from school;
- a certified extract from the report card with marks;
- documents confirming individual achievements.
You can also contact a specific medical organization. If you are interested, you will receive an application, which must also be submitted to the health department. The conditions for issuing a referral may differ in different regions. Check the local department's website for more information.
In case of a positive decision, an agreement will be concluded with you, according to which you will be required to work according to distribution or in a specific medical organization at least 3 years.
To enter medical school, one desire is not enough. Start intensive preparation for exams after 9th grade. Special attention focus on core subjects. To increase your chances of admission, take part in competitions related to the university profile or enroll after 9th grade in medical grade. 1. Getting into medical school requires passion. want. Longing to be a doctor. You should not be driven by the desire to have a prestigious medical diploma, or by the desire to follow in the footsteps of your father or mother, continuing the medical tradition of the family. You should sleep and see how you treat sick tummies, save people from death, operate with the risk of contracting hepatitis B or D, perform a medical feat as a village doctor. Perhaps you want to study thousands of surgical nodes, or develop a new model of a prosthetic arm, or transplant hearts, or save human beauty after a burn disease. If anyone can dissuade you from going to medical school, don't go.
2. Suppose you are dreaming and see yourself as a medical university student. You are attracted by the romance of the white robe, and the Hippocratic Oath seems so solemn to you. Then your path is cramming. Cramming on the subway, cramming at home, cramming at school. Cramming with a tutor. Think, understand, analyze, solve problems, write down constants, laws and rules in special notebooks, carry them close to your heart, read with fanaticism, buy expensive textbooks, read more than you need according to the program. Study the program inside and out.
3. Go to the university you want to enroll in a year or two before admission. Go there during the abitur period (and not to the sea with mom and dad). Go to admissions committee, take the list of recommended literature there and methodological manuals, issued by teachers of this university. Visit a bookstore or store at a medical school. Listen to your heart - does this whole atmosphere touch you? Go on a tour. Ask a student to take you to a museum on campus or to a laboratory. Talk to those who entered: one, another, the third. Should I pay a bribe to get into medical school?
Of course you pay! Especially if mom and dad have money. If you light up, they will milk you, carefully passing you from hand to hand, like Burenka or Zorka, from one pulpit to another.
Although, which is typical, practically no bribes were taken from us. The teachers were too principled. I still remember one. Her gaze was intent, unblinking. It was impossible to write it off. And if you didn’t know something, then it was your and only your problems. You had to cram without drying out, like every doctor has to cram for six years!
I believe that such interest of applicants in the university is completely justified: no matter what anyone says, they teach really well! The teaching staff is excellent, especially in physiology and biochemistry (and these are some of the most important disciplines for a future doctor). Other subjects are also taught well; the advantage is that general education subjects such as history, philosophy or economics do not require much effort; to get a pass, it is enough not to miss too many classes and write a computer-based centralized test (CT). In the main subjects we write tests almost every lesson, but test tasks adequate, it is not necessary to cram them, because the database has already been edited over the years.
The program is extensive and the emphasis is on self-study. There is no place for lazy people here, you need to be able to organize your time correctly, and then you can really get everything done. At the same time, it is difficult to drop out due to poor academic performance, because 6 months are given to eliminate debts, and you can take exams even without tests.
IN Lately For students, life has been simplified by the fact that the same tests are available in the public domain by order of the Vice-Rector for educational work, registration for retaking tests is performed automatically, created Personal Area, in which the schedule, information about the appointment or withdrawal of scholarships, retakes and all CT results are already available, in the future it is planned to publish information about the student’s attendance. Academic buildings are located at different metro stations, but everything is within walking distance. In the 1st year, most couples will be on Izmailovskaya. 2nd year - mainly Okhotny Ryad, where the departments are a 5-minute walk.
The scholarships are not too large, but, as in all universities, they are indexed. Now students starting from the 2nd semester of the 1st year receive 3,045 rubles (a single amount, there is no division into excellent and good students), only admitted first-year students receive about 1,500 rubles per month. Starting from the 3rd year, you can apply for an increased scholarship for educational, sports and scientific achievements.
The only negative is the lack of places in budget hostels (only beneficiaries are accommodated) - they plan to compensate this year, because... The finishing touches for a new dormitory with >1000 beds are being completed.

In general, the atmosphere in the student environment is calm and friendly, studying, in my opinion, is still not as difficult as they scare applicants) Groups are most often very friendly, everyone helps each other, otherwise it is almost impossible to adapt to the pace of study from the first days.
