Miramistin is an antiseptic for the treatment of bacterial, fungal and viral infections. Instructions for the use of spray miramistin for throat

Many women dream of having such a "magic wand" for all troubles. This is especially true for health. I bought one drug and cured many diseases.

The drug has a high activity against different types microorganisms.

Its activity extends to a wide range of effects:

  • Fungi;
  • Chlamydia.

Another unique property of Miramistin is stimulation immune system... It starts the skin tissue regeneration system and activates the action of macrophages - cells that destroy various infections.

The history of Miramistin's creation is very interesting and it is connected with space.

In the distant 80s, scientists worked to create a drug that was supposed to have antiseptic properties. It was created for astronauts orbital station... In fact, it had to become unique: not addictive, destroy various bacteria, fungi, viruses, both on earth and in space in a closed space under high temperatures.

And only by the beginning of the 90s such a tool was created and named "Infacept", and after a short time it was renamed "Miramistin".

So this drug is completely non-toxic for people, it is not addictive. Its action is directed outward (used locally), it is not absorbed into the blood. Also does not irritate the skin and mucous membranes.

Forms of release of Miramistin:

  • Solution;
  • Spray;
  • Ointment.

His physical properties enclosed in a colorless transparent liquid that foams when shaken. The composition includes the following components:

  • Benzyldimethyl;
  • Ammonium chloride monohydrate;
  • Purified water.

Miramistin in gynecology and obstetrics

Today this drug is used in:

  • Dentistry;
  • Surgery;
  • Traumatology;
  • Dermatology;
  • Venereology;
  • Other.

Most often, gynecology Miramistin is used in a 500 ml bottle. These are 0.01% solutions that are already ready for use. They can be used both for prevention and. The upper wounds are irrigated with Miramistin after the operation. The fistulous sutures are closed with an impregnated swab. The doctor may prescribe to do daily procedures up to 3 times a day for 5 days.

Also, Miramistin copes with the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases in the female part. Also, the drug is used in complex treatment diseases transmitted through sexual contact.

Miramistin is effective against many infectious agents that lead to female problems.

Doctors often resort to this drug when needed. emergency help with genital infections. It perfectly retains its activity towards these pathogens and suppresses them.

Miramistin is able to cope with the causative agents of the following diseases:

  • Syphilis;
  • Gonorrhea;
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Chlamydia;
  • Genetic herpes;
  • Other.

True, there is one "but": the drug must be taken after sexual intercourse within two hours. Otherwise, the whole process will be in vain.

Let's summarize.

Miramistin in gynecology is used:

  • For treatment: vaginal pathologies that are caused by inflammation, with, inflammation associated with the uterine cavity, wounds that fester after childbirth and various injuries.
  • For preventive measures: infections, sexually transmitted infections.

His undoubted plus is that it does not call side effects except for an allergy to one of the components of the drug. Yes, and pregnant women can use it, and it also has no effect on the child, which is good for lactation.

Use of the drug during pregnancy and after childbirth

It is necessary to pay due attention to the use of Miramistin during and after pregnancy.

As far as the correct technique used will be suitable for a particular case, it will be so effective in its process of influence and recovery.

In the area of female diseases most popular the following types use of Miramistin:

  • Using a tampon... It is actively used for problems associated with inflammation in the uterus or vaginal mucosa. The tampon is applied to the affected area and left there for a while. A tampon is used for diseases such as colpitis, vaginitis, endometritis and the like. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease. Usually, the treatment lasts a week or more.
  • ... Often prescribed to treat wounds with electric current... The agent is applied to the apparatus and directed to the affected area. When it comes to pelvic inflammatory disease, this method is used in parallel with other therapeutic agents.
  • Solution and douching... It was already mentioned earlier that it is held only no later than two hours. This is prevention after unsecured contact to avoid genital infection. After such a procedure, you can not wash, go to the toilet for 2 hours.
  • Solution into the urinary canal... Used in the field of urology for urethritis, as well as to avoid genital infections.
  • Spray... It is often used during pregnancy, before childbirth, in the postpartum period.
  • Candles Miramistin... is treated with Miramistin. The drug has won primacy in the fight against fungal pathogens, so it was created in the form of candles. Suppositories are much more convenient to insert into the vagina than douching. Moreover, the components of miramistin are in the vagina for a longer time. The method of application is simple, like the others, they are placed on Wednesday overnight. The course of admission lasts from 5 to 10 days.
  • Ointment... This type of drug is rarely used. Usually, if you need to treat the infected surface of the perineal wounds. The ointment can be applied directly to the wound, or first to the gauze surface, and then to the wound. The course is set individually by the doctor and depends on the factor of the spread of the lesion.

Precautionary measures

As already mentioned, the components of the drug do not have an active effect on internal organs organism and are not absorbed into the bloodstream.

It does not affect digestion and is easily tolerated by the body.

But still, this remedy is a drug and you need to use it strictly according to the instructions so as not to harm your body.

According to Miramistin's instructions:

  • The prescribed dosage must be observed.
  • If the patient observes an allergy to the components of Miramistin, its use should be urgently canceled. After consulting a doctor, give preference to analogues of the drug.
  • With minor side effects, continue the course. They should disappear over time.

What are the side effects:

  • Slight burning sensation. It should pass within 20 seconds.
  • With high sensitivity to the drug, it may be;
  • Hyperemia;
  • Feeling of dry skin.

This drug has been used in medicine for more than 40 years and has shown itself only on the good side.

There is not a single registered case of deviation in girls and during lactation.

Miramistin is one of the most used and popular antiseptics in pharmacology.

Miramistin is one of the drugs that have been developed, researched and patented in our country.

The antiseptic was synthesized back in the 70s of the last century, during the rapid development of Soviet space. The researchers faced a difficult task: it was necessary to create a tool that could be used both for treating the hands of astronauts and for disinfecting the surfaces of the spacecraft. Of particular difficulty was the fact that the antiseptic was planned to be used in difficult conditions of weightlessness.

The leading chemists and doctors of the country from Moscow, Kiev and Simferopol took part in the research. The famous Soviet researcher in the field of medicine, Doctor medical sciences Professor Krivoshein, who patented new drug... Subsequently, it was Krivoshein long years was engaged in the study of his brainchild, proof of its effectiveness and the search for forms of release.

Before continuing reading: If you are looking for effective method getting rid of a runny nose, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis or colds, then be sure to look into section of the site Book after reading this article. This information has helped a lot of people, we hope it will help you too! So, now we return to the article.

However, the difficulties that befell Soviet Union 10 years later, and later, the disintegration of the country caused the suspension of many research programs. Only in 1991, by the efforts of private investors, Miramistin's studies were resumed, and the drug itself was registered as a drug.

Thorny path to popularity

Interestingly, the first indication of Miramistin was the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. Subsequently, scientists have proven the activity of the drug against many other pathogens.

Almost 30 years later, the drug has become one of the most popular antiseptics in Russia and the CIS countries. Surprise and some caution is caused by the fact that Miramistin never made his step to the west. Our antiseptic is not used in any foreign country. Foreign scientists have not published a single work on the study of Miramistin. And this despite enough deep research held in our country.

Let's try to figure out what a real Russian antiseptic is. And, perhaps, we will find the answer to the question why Miramistin did not conquer the West?

Composition of Miramistin. Properties of the active substance

So let's take a closer look at this medicine. Under the rather euphonious name "Miramistin" is hidden a long inorganic formula with a completely unpronounceable name, which we will not dare to reproduce. Let's just say that the drug is a diluted solution (only 0.01%) of the active ingredient in water.

The visual characteristics of Miramistin may vary. So, the color of the solution varies from colorless to yellowish. However, regardless of the color, the medicine must remain completely transparent.

If you get some kind of foamy liquid when you shake the bottle of antiseptic, do not worry. These are absolutely normal physicochemical properties drug. Indeed, Miramistin contains a surfactant - a surfactant that can reduce surface tension. Let us recall that it is precisely on the qualities of various surfactants that the creation of all detergents... Therefore, in some respects, Miramistin is not only an antiseptic, but also a skin care agent.

Form of issue: there is no limit to imagination

The flight of thought of pharmacists who are developing new forms of Miramistin's release can truly be kindly envied. Probably no other antiseptic competes with our drug in this regard. Let's remember the bottle of Chlorhexidine: a very modest bottle with a short nozzle. No fantasy!

So, we list the main forms of release of Miramistin.

- for use in otorhinolaryngology:

  • aerosols with spray nozzles for local irrigation of the throat and nasal cavity;
  • solution for rinsing the throat in vials;
  • dropper bottles for intranasal use, that is, simply nose drops;
  • drops in the ears;

- for use in dermatology - external ointments with a Miramistin content of 0.5%;

- use in urology - bottles with a urological applicator that allows irrigation urethra;

- for use in gynecology - vials of Miramistin, equipped with syringe nozzles for douching the vagina;

- for use in combustiology, surgery, dentistry, traumatology - bottles with spray nozzles for external use;

- use in ophthalmic practice- dropper bottles containing sterile Miramistin solution in the form of eye drops.

Agree, the choice is really wide. Therefore, when purchasing a medicine, be careful. Despite the fact that the concentration of the drug in solutions is always the same - 0.01% - the nozzles, as we have seen, are very specific. Do not hesitate to notify the pharmacist for what purposes you are planning to use Miramistin. And then you don't have to adjust the urethral applicator to irrigate your throat or nose.

Treatment with Miramistin: how does an antiseptic work?

Mechanism therapeutic action Miramistina is based on its surfactant properties. The active substance is capable of interacting with the lipids of the membranes of pathogenic microorganisms. In this case, the antiseptic molecule practically penetrates the membrane and contributes to its destruction. As a result of the vigorous activity of the antiseptic, the attacked cell dies.

An absolutely unique property of Miramistin is its selectivity. The drug perfectly "recognizes" healthy cells of the human body and does not react to them in any way. Scientists were able to explain this "phenomenon": in fact, it is due to the special structure of the cell membranes of our body.

Miramistin solution: spectrum of pharmacological activity

Let's move on to the most informative part of the article from the point of view of pharmacology. What microorganisms are sensitive to Miramistin solution?

So, the drug has a bactericidal effect against:

gram-positive microorganisms

  • staphylococci;
  • streptococci, including Streptococcus pneumoniae. Note that it is staphylococci and streptococci that are the causative agents of most catarrhal infections.

gram-negative microorganisms

  • pseudomonads;
  • Escherichia coli;
  • Klebsiella.

Sharp intestinal infections, as a rule, are associated precisely with strains of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella.

  • aspergillus;
  • penicillin mushrooms;
  • yeast fungi;
  • yeast-like fungi, including opportunistic fungi of the genus Candida;
  • dermatophytes.
  • herpes viruses type 1 and 2;
  • HIV - Immunodeficiency Virus.

sexually transmitted microorganisms

  • chlamydia;
  • pale treponema - causative agents of syphilis;
  • Trichomonas;
  • the causative agent of gonorrhea Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

The use of Miramistin - prevention of nosocomial infections

Separately, I would like to note the effectiveness of the antiseptic in relation to hospital strains of microorganisms. Already from the name "hospital" it can be clear that these pathogens are directly related to the hospital.

Indeed, some infections break out in a clinic setting. Remember how often you hear sad stories about patients with pneumonia in the hospital. Or purulent sore throat in children or adults. This is not idle talk, but the most that neither is a real nosocomial infection.

Despite strict antiseptic measures, it is the hospital that becomes the ideal breeding ground for the most virulent, that is, pathogens. And the saddest thing about nosocomial infections is that most strains are resistant to broad spectrum antibiotics.

Scientists led by Professor Krivoshein proved that Miramistin solution helps, that is, it works with infection and commonplace colibacillus, and a resistant Staphylococcus aureus strain.

This means that the prophylactic local application of Miramistin helps to avoid hospital infections of the ENT organs. External use in the treatment of hands and surfaces is one of the ways to significantly reduce the likelihood of the spread of nosocomial infection.

Benefits or why is the new antiseptic better?

Antiseptic preparations for local and external use on pharmaceutical market enough. Therefore, a new tool has to prove its advantages not in word, but in deed.

Scientists under the leadership of Krivoshein carried out comparative analysis various antiseptics and were looking for an answer to the question: which is better - Miramistin or the old proven antiseptics? Researchers have come to the conclusion that the benefits of the new drug are due to its unique properties, namely:

1.the ability to resist almost any pathogenic microorganisms: bacteria, viruses, fungi, as well as intracellular pathogens;

2. Wide application in medicine, ranging from the treatment of sore throat and ending with the therapy of sunburn;

3. the ability to reduce the resistance of microorganisms to antibiotics. Recall that about 90% of staphylococcus strains, including the well-known Staphylococcus aureus are insensitive to penicillins and cephalosporins;

4. the ability to stimulate the local immune response;

5. antiseptic stimulates the fastest repair, that is, healing and restoration of damaged tissues;

6. Miramistin actively prevents contamination of the wound or burn surface;

7. the antiseptic does not irritate the mucous membranes, and also does not cause an allergic reaction even in sensitive patients;

8. The preparation does not require special preparations before use: 0.01% solution is completely ready for use.

Medicine in the practice of an ENT doctor

Over the years of use, Miramistin has taken its rightful place among local antiseptics, which are used to prevent and treat many catarrhal infections. Despite the fact that this remedy is not indicated in the standard treatment protocols, many doctors trust it.

So, among the indications for use, it is worth noting:

- inflammation of the outer and middle ear

The drug is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic otitis media... Ear drops Miramistin contain a 0.1% solution of the active ingredient. We add that both water and ethyl alcohol can serve as a solvent.

- sinusitis, frontal sinusitis, sinusitis

With purulent sinusitis (inflammation of the paranasal sinuses), an antiseptic is used to rinse the cavity and instill it in the form of nasal drops. During clinical research on the basis of clinics in Moscow, it was found that the effectiveness of a 0.01% solution of Miramistin for a cold is higher than that of another leading antiseptic - Chlorhexidine. The recovery of patients, for the treatment of whom Miramistin was used, occurs several days earlier.

With allergic sinusitis, the use of the drug can significantly reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa and restore breathing, and, therefore, refuse to use vasoconstrictor drops... And this is important. After all, it is allergy sufferers who belong to the risk group for medication rhinitis, which occurs as a result of prolonged use of the same naphthyzine.

With frontal sinusitis (inflammation of the frontal sinuses) and sinusitis (inflammation of the maxillary sinuses), the drug is administered by puncture. As in the case of sinusitis, scientists have proven the predominant effectiveness of a 0.01% solution of Miramistin.

Separately, I would like to note that Miramistin, unlike Chlorhexidine, usually does not cause irritation of the mucous membrane.

- diseases of the larynx and pharynx - tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis

Miramistin is part of the complex treatment of inflammatory diseases of the throat and pharynx, including for children early age... I would like to note the same effectiveness of Miramistin for angina of any etiology: both viral and bacterial.

What is better for a sore throat: spray or solution of Miramistin?

Very often, patients are faced with a choice: what to buy - a spray or a rinse solution? Or is it better to have lollipops?

Indeed, what is more effective for throat diseases - aerosol or Miramistin solution? Let's try to figure it out and answer this question.

The treatment regimen for any viral pharyngitis or tonsillitis is not complete without the use of local antiseptic drugs. We must not forget that in the case of a bacterial nature of the disease, the first line remedy is, of course, an antibiotic. But the treatment should always be comprehensive, and it is simply necessary to include local remedies in its composition.

The pharmaceutical industry produces as local antiseptics for throat diseases:

- Lozenges or lozenges.

This dosage form is very convenient for adults. However, children often just chew and eat a delicious pill. Therefore, to achieve the optimal pharmacological effect in younger patients age category sometimes it is difficult. Note that tablet preparations containing Miramistin have not yet been developed.

- Throat sprays.

A very convenient dosage form of Miramistin, which can also be used in children. Thanks to the long spray, even the most difficult to reach areas of the tonsils and pharynx can be treated. The experience of using sprays in pediatric practice is quite extensive. And he says that quite often there is a confrontation between a small patient and an adult, squeezing an aerosol can in his hand.

Sometimes the result of all the punctuation is the watering of the throat. hastily”While the child is somehow miraculously persuaded not to close his mouth. The effectiveness of an antiseptic with such a treatment, of course, drops sharply.

- Rinsing solutions.

Despite the fact that in convenience this form of release is clearly inferior to sprays, many ENT doctors and pediatricians prefer it. And the effectiveness of rinsing is that, with diligent execution, you can treat the entire inflamed area with an antiseptic solution.

How to properly gargle with Miramistin?

Many parents remember this procedure from their childhood. Nevertheless, we think it will not be superfluous to repeat how to properly gargle with Miramistin. So, the most important thing in the procedure:

1.First, the duration of the rinses. Effective rinsing the throat should not take less than five minutes;

2. secondly, during the procedure, you need to tilt your head back slightly so that the medicine irrigates the maximum area. It is important not to overdo it in this matter. Otherwise, the solution may enter the nasopharynx, and pathogens will penetrate there along with the medicine. The consequences are easily predictable - this is the spread of the inflammatory process to nasal cavity and the development of rhinitis and sinusitis.

Another trick that will increase the effectiveness of gargling with Miramistin is the pronunciation of the letter "y" during the procedure. This exciting articulation exercise lowers the root of the tongue. As a result, the antiseptic penetrates the deepest parts of the throat;

3. and, finally, third. You should not eat or drink for half an hour after applying local antiseptics for the oral cavity. This rule applies not only to the rinse solution, but also to sprays and antiseptic lozenges. Otherwise, you simply wash off a thin film of the drug from the mucous membrane and absorb it along with the food. Of course, toxic effect such, if one may say so, treatment will not take: the drug is absolutely safe. However, therapeutic action is reduced to zero.

Treatment of respiratory diseases with Miramistin

With the help of inhalations with Miramistin solution, inflammatory diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract... However, conventional heat-moisture inhalers are unable to deliver the medicine to its destination. Nebulizers perfectly cope with this task, which effectively convert the Miramistin solution into a gaseous state.

The drug, getting on the mucous membrane of the trachea and bronchi, has a pronounced antiseptic effect. Inhalation with Miramistin is indicated for bronchitis in adults and bronchitis in children (inflammation of the bronchi), tracheitis, laryngotracheitis, as well as pneumonia (pneumonia). An antiseptic is used regardless of whether the disease is accompanied by sputum secretion. Miramistin is used for coughs and runny nose with purulent discharge.

The effectiveness of treatment largely depends on the timely appointment of inhalations. Therefore, when the first signs of a cold, SARS or bronchitis appear, immediately remove the inhaler from the shelf and feel free to start the procedure.

Note that inhalations with Miramistin are part of the complex treatment of respiratory diseases. The therapy regimen primarily includes mucolytic agents, contributing to the effective discharge of sputum. It is worth recalling that with a bacterial origin of diseases, an antibiotic is indispensable.

When is Miramistin an ambulance?

Miramistin is one of the topical drugs that is trusted for emergency prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

Of course, the first and foremost method of defense should be barrier means... Unfortunately, sometimes a ridiculous accident can get too expensive. In such cases, Miramistin comes to the rescue. Dermatovenereologists recommend using Miramistin as early as possible after unprotected intercourse. In this case, women are recommended to use a bottle with a vaginal nozzle, and men - with a urethral nozzle.

The basis for the successful prevention of genital infections with Miramistin is:

- timely use of an antiseptic. The drug should be used no later than two hours after intercourse;

- high-quality treatment of the mucous membrane. This is why pharmaceutical companies produce vials with special nozzles.

I would like to add that as an additional emergency prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, some experts recommend using a short course of antibiotics. However, in such cases, you still need to use the advice of a qualified dermatovenerologist.

The use of Miramistin in other fields of medicine

Miramistin is widely used for many other diseases. Let's try to list the areas of medicine in which the new antiseptic is used:

- surgery and traumatology

Miramistin is used to treat wound surfaces, including purulent ones. Positive quality the drug is considered a wide spectrum of action against the background of the absence of irritating or allergic action.

- obstetrics and gynecology

Miramistin is indicated for the treatment of postpartum injuries, including as a result of episiotomy (surgical incision of the perineum). The drug helps to prevent postpartum infection.

In gynecological practice, Miramistin is used to treat inflammatory diseases. The activity of Miramistin against fungi of the genus Candida determines its use in vaginal candidiasis (thrush).

- combustiology

The drug is used to treat burns and prevent their infection. The especially reverent attitude of combustiologists is caused by the reparative properties of the antiseptic, which contribute to fast healing burn surface. We add that Miramistin is also used in the treatment of sunburn.

- dermatology

The solution and ointment with Miramistin is used as a local antiseptic for bacterial and fungal infections, including dermatomycosis of the feet. However, despite its effectiveness against most pathogenic and opportunistic fungi, Miramistin cannot be considered the drug of choice for these infections. Antiseptic is part of complex therapy as an additional tool.

- ophthalmology

Eye drops containing a sterile 0.01% solution of Miramistin are used for viral, fungal and bacterial conjunctivitis (inflammation of the connective membrane of the eye), blepharitis (inflammation of the edge of the eyelid - what is popularly called barley) and blepharoconjunctivitis.

- dentistry

A wide spectrum of action against a wide variety of pathogens is the reason for the appointment of Miramistin for treatment dental diseases... Note that inflammatory processes gums and oral mucosa can be associated with bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including HSV (herpes viruses).

Sometimes it is quite difficult to find a drug that has simultaneous activity against these pathogens. After all, it is usually impossible to accurately identify a microorganism. Miramistin in such cases is just a magic wand, therefore this antiseptic is prescribed for:

  • stomatitis (inflammation of the oral mucosa);
  • gingivitis (inflammation of the gums);
  • periodontitis (inflammation of the periodontal - gums and surrounding soft tissues);
  • periodontitis (inflammation of the tissue between the tooth and the bone bed).

In addition, Miramistin is also used for effective cleaning of dentures.

Dosages of Miramistin for throat diseases according to the instructions

The instructions for use of Miramistin describe the exact dosages of the drug, depending on the purpose.

The dosage of the drug depends on its form of release.

Miramistin in the form of a spray

The drug is dosed:

  • children from 3 to 6 years old about 3-5 ml of spray at one time (usually this is one dose of the drug, which is released with a single spray);
  • children from 7 to 14 years old 5-7 ml of the drug (2 doses);
  • children over 14 years old and adults need 3-4 doses of the drug (that is, 3-4 times aerosol spraying).

The frequency of application of the aerosol is 3-4 times a day after meals.

Miramistin in the form of a rinse solution

The dosage of the rinse solution also depends on the age of the patient:

  • for children from 3 to 6 years old, 3-5 ml of Miramistin solution will be needed. For this age category, doctors recommend diluting the drug with warm boiled water in a 1: 1 ratio. That is, for one procedure you will need about 10 ml of a 0.005% solution of Miramistin with water;
  • for children 7-14 years old, 7 ml of a standard 0.01% antiseptic solution is enough;
  • for children over 14 years of age and adults, the dosage of Miramistin rinse solution is 10-15 ml per rinse.

Frequency rate of procedures - 4-5 times a day after meals.

The course of treatment for diseases of the throat and pharynx depends on the severity of the inflammatory process. The minimum duration of treatment is 4 days. The average course of therapy is 5-7 days.

Experts also fully admit prolonged schemes, when antiseptics are used for 10 days or even longer. The lack of persistence (that is, addiction) of microorganisms to Miramistin is the reason that experts do not mind long-term treatment this antiseptic.

Otorhinolaryngology and ophthalmology: average doses of Miramistin

Ear drops containing miramistin are used for external and otitis media. In case of inflammation of the external ear, a turunda made from a sterile bandage is moistened in a solution of the drug. The resulting structure is inserted into the ear for 10-15 minutes. This intricate procedure is repeated 3-4 times a day.

With otitis media, drops with Miramistin are instilled in 3-5 drops in each ear. 2-3 drops are enough for children. The frequency of the procedure is 3-4 times a day, and the duration of treatment is from 5 days to two weeks.

Sinusitis, rhinitis, sinusitis

Nasal drops Miramistin is instilled in an amount of 2-3 drops into each nasal passage. For children, the dosage of Miramistin is slightly lower - 1-2 drops. The frequency of use is up to 7-8 times a day, and the course of treatment is 7-10 days.

With sinusitis, Miramistin is administered by puncture. The dosage of the drug in this case is quantum satis, which in Latin means “as needed”.

Conjunctivitis, blepharitis, eye injuries

In ophthalmology, 2-3 drops of Miramistin are used in each eye, the frequency of procedures is 4-6 times a day. For children under 12 years old, 1-2 drops of the drug are enough.

For inhalations with Miramistin, you will need 4 ml of a 0.01% antiseptic solution, the frequency of procedures is 3-4 times a day.

Dosages of Miramistin when used in other fields of medicine

For wounds and burns

In surgery and cobmustiology, a 0.01% solution of Miramistin is used. An antiseptic is used externally for washing the wound surface, as well as for packing wounds. Frequency rate of application - 2-3 times a day. In surgery, the method of draining wounds with a large volume of the drug (up to 1 liter per day) has gained particular popularity.

In dermatovenerology

  • women should inject 1–2 ml of the drug into the urethra. For vaginal douching, 5-10 ml of Miramistin is enough. The duration of the exposure is 2-3 minutes;
  • for men, inject 2-3 ml of Miramistin into the urethra.

In addition, it is necessary to treat the external genitals, the pubic area and the inner thighs with an antiseptic.

In obstetrics and gynecology

Miramistin 0.01% is used as:

  • irrigation solution;
  • solution for wetting tampons.

In dentistry

For diseases of the gums and oral mucosa, a 0.01% solution of Miramistin is used for rinsing. One procedure will require 10-15 ml of antiseptic, the frequency of rinsing is 3-4 times a day.

Miramistin for children: at what age can the drug be used?

Miramistin is a very safe antiseptic that is not absorbed into the bloodstream and does not have a systemic effect. According to the instructions for use, Miramistin is officially approved for use for children over three years old. Patients under 12 years of age are often advised to dilute the solution with water or sodium chloride.

The age limit for the use of Miramistin is due to the lack of clinical studies of the use of the drug in young children. Nevertheless, many pediatricians prescribe Miramistin to children from one year old and even to babies. As a rule, in such cases, the antiseptic is diluted with water in a 1: 1 or 1: 2 ratio.

Miramistin: a safe antiseptic during pregnancy

The drug is approved for use during pregnancy, including in the first trimester. Researchers have shown that Miramistin does not affect the course of pregnancy when applied topically and topically. Therefore, expectant mothers can safely use an antiseptic for any of its purposes and not worry about adverse effects.

We add that the use of Miramistin during lactation has not been studied, and manufacturers honestly warn patients about this in the instructions for use. Nevertheless, the drug is also used for breastfeeding - after all, the antiseptic is not absorbed into the bloodstream, and, therefore, does not penetrate into breast milk.

Contraindications and side effects

Miramistin is contraindicated only in case of individual sensitivity to an antiseptic. The probability of such a reaction, as a rule, is not higher than 0.01%.

Side effects with external and local application of Miramistin are extremely rare, and this is confirmed in the reviews of doctors and patients. Adverse events include:

- a short-term local reaction in the form of a slight burning sensation, which disappears literally in 15–20 seconds;

- an allergic reaction, which is manifested by dermatosis. Individual sensitivity to Miramistin is manifested in sensitized patients prone to allergies.

Miramistin behind the curtain. Why?

We have considered almost all the properties of Miramistin. But they did not find an answer to the question why such an effective and safe antiseptic remained exclusively a Russian drug.

Indeed, Miramistin's research was carried out only at the bases of clinics in Russia and Ukraine. There are data on the trials of the drug by Swedish scientists, but information on the results of the experiments is not possible to find. And most importantly, for more than 20 years of application in the CIS countries, Miramistin has not been registered in any other country in the world.

What caused this mistrust of foreign doctors in Russian know-how is unclear. Nevertheless, this fact makes many domestic experts wary and take a critical look at Miramistin.

Miramistin's analogs

The analogues of Miramistin include only a few drugs, namely:

Okomistin - eye, ear and nasal drops at the same time, manufactured by Infamed.

Miramidez, which is produced by a Ukrainian company, is ethyl alcohol-based ear drops.

Storage and dispensing

Recall the storage rules for Miramistin: the drug does not lose its qualities when room temperature... Place the bottle in a closet out of the reach of children.

And finally. In order to buy Miramistin in a pharmacy, you do not need a doctor's prescription - medicine belongs to the OTC group (over the counter). Which once again proves its safety.

Intimate hygiene is an excellent prevention of most diseases. That is why it must be carried out using the appropriate means. Ideal for this case is Miramistin.

What is Miramistin?

Miramistin is antibacterial drug which has a wide range of effects. This medicine is used to treat various infectious pathologies... The use of the drug is recommended not only for therapy, but also for the prevention of various diseases. The drug is used for diseases that have different etiology:

  • Bacterial;
  • Viral;
